The fabricated story he used was told only to Jeffrey, but it was with the intent that the latter would spread the matter to others.

It was set up to erase any suspicion and doubt about when and where he ca from. Unfortunately, that setup was starting to bite back at him in full force.

The Sunfire Road incident had directly clashed with his supposed timing of arrival, aning that his story was a complete lie.

"Sir, I believe you might be overthinking too much." Mirelle suddenly approached him and whispered, "You never specified the reason why we were kicked out of the carriage on the Sunfire Road. We can simply shift the bla to about my cautiousness, which clashed with the carrier company regarding your safety."

Upon hearing her suggestion, Leonard’s heart softened a bit.

He understood Mirelle was trying to console him and lessen his foul mood.

But she was still too shallow in her thinking!

"I’m not worried about the carriage story." Leonard responded and explained, "What I’m worried about is how we appeared despite coming from the Sunfire Road."

"Our appearance?" Dumbfounded, Mirelle scratched her head in confusion.

What did their appearance have to do with anything?

They disguised themselves and even made sure to get the proper clothes that fit their intended role.

How could there be anything wrong with it?

"If the Sunfire Road was truly in such a state of alert, then do you think our faces and energy would be so great?" Leonard clicked his tongue.

"When a person is at a constant alert of a possible ambush while traveling. The fatigue would build up. Lack of sleep would be the most common factor, too. Because nobody would dare to fall asleep while knowing death could be coming to them at any mont."

Mirelle’s face turned pale when she realized what he ant.

’Right, we were all so lively, completely devoid of any signs of fatigue when we entered.’ There might have been an incident during the Virellian Sea, but the latter half was all resolved. They were soon able to get ample rest without the need to worry about assassination or a swarm of monsters attacking them.

To summarize, they were all full of vigor and energy, despite the fact that traveling on the Sunfire Road to the city was laced with danger.

Even a fool would be suspicious of them when they claid to co from a route known to be dangerous as of late, yet appeared energetic.

"Should I silence Jeffrey?" Mirelle suddenly narrowed her eyes and inquired.

Leonard appeared sowhat surprised that she would be the one to make such a suggestion.

"And here I thought you were so righteous and moral person." Amused, he ultimately shook his head. "There’s no need to silence him."

It was already too late for them to fix the situation. Moreover, he doubted Jeffrey could seriously implicate him with anything when he could have simply claid to have lied previously to protect his tracks.

His disguised identity as a certified gold-ranked rchant was solidified and had an authentic record in the rchant Guild. With such a prestigious status, it wasn’t hard to imagine that others might attempt to rob him of his wealth.

Therefore, lying to protect himself was a valid statent.

Despite this, he still needed to be wary of the possibility that Jeffrey had revealed his suspicion to the rchant Guild.

If the ergency eting was indeed a crucifixion trial against him, then he needed to make sure they wouldn’t be able to capture him.

"Just make sure to be prepared once we enter the rchant Guild," Leonard warned Mirelle softly, and the possible dangers involved.

Mirelle clenched her fist and nodded.

"Then what about Abel yers?"

She hadn’t forgotten about the person’s words in their guess of them coming through the sea.

anwhile, Leonard rolled his eyes as he easily discerned her true motive.

"You just wanted an outlet to vent and use him to resolve the bind in your heart." He scoffed coolly.

agan’s death was a combination of tragic events that brought the event to a sad end. And part of the reason why she chose death without any resistance was because of Abel’s lustful behavior.

Therefore, Mirelle held a grudge and wished to find a proper excuse to kill him. The sa goes for Jeffrey, who completely disregarded his role as a city guard and enabled the tragedy to happen.

Her repeated proposal to suggest killing them made Leonard understand just how petty she was toward those she deed unworthy.

Soti later, Leonard snapped his fingers to signal that it was ti for them to enter the rchant Guild.

He followed Abel’s action and directly skipped over the long line.

Needless to say, his foreign appearance caused many to raise an eyebrow in confusion.

"Who is this youngster?"

"Is he seriously trying to cut the line here?"

"Never even seen his face before! But he sure knows how to enjoy life."

So of the rchants who were long filled with boredom in waiting in the line glanced at Leonard, or more specifically, the won behind him.

Without a doubt, they all thought it was an ignorant youngster who believed he could just bypass the line by showing such a flashy impression.

Almost everyone here ca alone or with fellow rchants.

Who would bring a woman along?

The guards were also visibly confused by Leonard’s behavior and wondered if he had wandered into the wrong place.

These guards were constantly guarding the rchant Guild’s periter. So they had yet to see him physically despite knowing about the incident involving Lord Wesley and a certified gold-ranked rchant.

"Sir, may you present your dal to proceed forward with the special channel. Otherwise, please return and line up at the back." The guard calmly said.

They didn’t outright turn hostile because of the slight possibility that Leonard might be a bigshot. As if they would be foolish enough to court death in a place where only the highest prestige people could enter.

"Sure, you want to see my dal, right?" Leonard ignored the onlookers’ gaze that seed to pray for his downfall as he retrieved his gold dal.
