With the treasure chests and items cleared out, only the Script Shop and the roulette draw remained.

However, there was bad news. Bai Mu's Points had bottod out, aning even if good items appeared in the shop, he could not afford them.

"Even a hero can be stumped by a lack of money," Bai Mu muttered, frowning slightly.

In reality, for the vast majority of Players, their Points were sufficient for their needs. Very few people were like Bai Mu, clearing two Adventure Scripts back-to-back between main Scripts.

Furthermore, when Players drew items they couldn't use or found ineffective, they could toss them into the player market to sell. Very few would choose an upgrade buff like "Shopaholic".

Clearing Scripts too quickly wasn't always a good thing, but looking at his bulging inventory, Bai Mu felt relieved. How many E-grade players had so many items and equipnt that even an extra thirty inventory slots were barely enough to hold them all?

He glanced at Xiao Wei. Now he had another person to train. He was almost fully decked out in god-tier gear, but Xiao Wei was entirely destitute. She didn't even have a beginner's set, so she could only use so of the equipnt Bai Mu had phased out, like the Baseball Bat and the traffic cone hat.

"Training Xiao Wei is also going to cost a fortune," Bai Mu sighed, feeling the pinch of his insufficient Points. He would have to find a way to cobble together a set of equipnt for her first, at least getting so defensive gear.

She was different from Lucy and Witch. The latter two were projections, while her actual body had followed him. As a Magical Familiar, she was not an invincible entity. In fact, her defense was pitifully weak, making her entirely fragile.

Although a Magical Familiar lacked vital organs like a heart or a head, if her Health dropped to zero, she would still die.

In the Ancient Manor, magical powers could continuously regenerate a Magical Familiar's health, achieving a near-invincible effect. However, in a Script at her current stage, she was just a frail young girl. If she were to tackle a Script alone, she might not even clear a beginner Script comfortably. If she were thrown onto the Deserted Island from Bai Mu's beginner Script and required to survive for thirty days, it was hard to say whether she could find enough food and water to live. Magic Missile might help her kill a few wild birds, but surviving on a deserted island required more than just hunting. Drinking water, torrential rain, shelter, and starting a fire... these were all formidable challenges.

If pressed on whether she could actually survive the thirty days, Bai Mu believed she could. After all, a Magical Familiar was nearly immune to disease and extre temperatures, and their sense of pain was quite weak. But her survival would undoubtedly be a miserable struggle.

Just like a normal person, she could recover her strength by eating and drinking. She needed energy to perform activities; her Mana and Stamina were similar in that they required her body to be in a healthy, satiated state to regenerate.

During the conversion in the magic circle, due to Bai Mu's request, the black cat had preserved her human senses as much as possible, rather than turning her into a completely non-human entity like the giant bear.

She needed to consu organic matter and replenish her fluids. The magic within her could convert those things into energy. She was now a different existence from a human, but on the inside, she was fundantally still a naive young girl who knew nothing about the world.

She had never even read a book. Not too long ago, she was completely illiterate, right up until the black cat used magic to teach her how to read.

She was kind and possessed a sufficiently firm will, but if she were thrown alone into various Scripts, Bai Mu was worried about her survival rate. The Scripts Bai Mu was currently queuing for were all C-grade and D-grade, and the danger level would only gradually increase moving forward.

However, Bai Mu didn't agonize over this problem too much. Worst case scenario, he could just have her turn into a doll and stay in his inventory, taking the ti to slowly train her when the opportunity arose. In that Ancient Manor, he had already witnessed the powerful will hidden within this young girl's frail body. As long as she was given enough ti to grow, he believed she would sooner or later be able to stand on her own.

Returning to the matter at hand, Bai Mu opened his "Profession" options. As a Reporter, he also possessed the special ability to sell "News". He had already "interviewed" and uncovered the entire picture of the Haunted Manor Script very clearly and thoroughly. He sold three pieces of "News" to the "Newspaper Agency": "The True and False Witch", "The Black Cat as an Incarnation of a Demon", and "The Truth Behind the Blood-Written Words".

The three pieces of news sold for a total of 600 Points. These three were considered major news, each worth 200 Points. He also had two minor news items: one about the cage in the house, and the other about the chef's at stew. These two sold for 100 Points each. Just by selling news, he earned 800 Points, which was equivalent to the base reward for clearing an average D-grade team Script.

If one could fully explore a Script, the money-making ability of the Reporter profession was actually quite impressive. Bai Mu's Points instantly crossed into the four digits.

He beca even more determined to explore future Scripts as thoroughly as possible. With an extra person, his expenses had doubled. No wonder people called children gold-swallowing beasts. He was neither married nor a father, but at this mont, he suddenly understood what those who were fathers felt. Moreover, they had to raise more than just children; just thinking about it was incredibly stressful.

After Bai Mu sold the news, he gained 2,400 profession experience points; every 100 Points of news equated to 300 profession experience points. To his delight, he finally scraped together the 1,400 experience points needed for a profession upgrade. His Reporter profession leveled up from level 3 to level 4. When he opened the skill tree, he discovered an extra golden skill point on it.

Three different options appeared above the previously obscured branches.

[Battlefield Reporter]

[Underground Reporter]

[dia Reporter]

"Are these... class advancent paths?" Bai Mu understood at a glance.

After accumulating enough experience, he was finally going to transition from a trainee reporter to a full-fledged one.

He clicked open the three options to take a look. Although he couldn't see the specific skill trees yet, he could see the different inclinations of the three types of reporters. In fact, he could get the gist just from their nas: Battlefield Reporter naturally focused on survival and stealth, while Underground Reporter emphasized disguise and concealnt.

dia Reporter was more balanced. It was a compromise option that was relatively well-rounded but lacked any particularly outstanding abilities. However, it had a slight advantage when it ca to making money.

Bai Mu quickly allocated the skill point to dia Reporter. This profession was inherently a supportive one for him. He couldn't exactly expect the skills of a "Reporter" to turn him into a god of slaughter on the battlefield. What he valued most was this profession's ability to earn Points; everything else was actually less important. [Your "Reporter" profession has been upgraded to "dia Reporter".]
