Chapter 5:
My hands were cold. It was only autumn, but I felt cold as if I was in the middle of a winter storm.
I rubbed my hands together to warm up. They shook uncontrollably. I tried to calm down, but it was useless.
The maid looked at with sympathy. She led patiently as I fumbled.
Orlean followed from behind. She rushed coldly.

I raised my head, still trembling. The giant door was painted in gold. The maid fixed my dress.
“This is where we part. We can’t follow you into the room. The emperor has ordered us to stay at least 100 kinas (1 kina = 1 ter) away from this room.”

The old emperor was naked except for a golden gown. He was sitting on the bed and drinking red wine.

I considered turning around and running away when the old man approached .

I finally started to cry. This was finally happening. I closed my eyes and scread the na of the person I missed the most in my own language.

The emperor remained still. I slowly opened one of my eyes.

I couldn’t understand. I froze.
Then suddenly, the emperor’s body slumped on top of slowly.
He was heavy and wet, and he slled foul. However, the most shocking thing was his back. On his back, I saw a dagger sticking out.
Slowly, blood started to seep out.

I couldn’t take it anymore. Today was the most stressful day of my life.
