Silver got dressed up in a double-breasted white coat jacket with silver cufflinks, a white shirt, matching pants and a silver tie. Rubisha had helped him pick this up, yesterday. Looking at himself in the mirror, he couldn’t find any faults. He actually liked the suiting for this formal party.
He combed back his silverish-white hair and adjusted his cuffs. Throwing one final look at himself in the mirror, he checked his watch. It was almost ti to leave. Mayor Kirlian was sending a car for them to be picked up so he walked outside his condo and knocked on Rubisha’s door.
"Co in, it’s open," she called from inside and reluctantly he opened the door and entered the condo. It was very similar to his but with girlish vibes. Tones of pink and maroon mixed with gold were visibly brought out. He stood awkwardly in the living area, gazing around. His hands behind his back.
"Can you help with the zipper?" he saw Rubisha rushing towards him with her clutch in her hands. She had on a champagne-coloured cocktail gown and make-up. Rubisha almost dropped her clutch seeing him standing there all so very handso like a gentleman. Her heart raced at a frantic speed and her mouth flew open.
"Oh! Wow," she stopped in her tracks as Silver’s eyes followed her from top to bottom.
"For a lassie, you don’t look so bad either," he added dryly without revealing to her that he liked what he saw. She looked beautiful, like a diva on the cover of a magazine.
"Uhu! Lad, help with the zipper," she approached him and turned around, revealing her bare back where the dress needed to be zipped. Silver wanted to shake his head but they were already getting late and he wanted to get this done with.
Carefully picking up the pull tab he closed the zip, trying not to touch her shimring skin. His heartbeat elevated a bit and Rubisha couldn’t help but snicker.
"Done," he replied nonchalantly and Rubisha turned around. He seed even more handso close by and the suit fitted him so perfectly that she wanted to trace her hands on his breasted collar. He seed to have cast a spell on her as she inhaled deeply and swooned.
Luckily, her phone began to ring pulling her out of her stupor. She fished it out of her clutch and answered while Silver watched her with a guarded expression.
"We have to go, our ride is here," she declared once the call ended.
"After you," Silver stated, she took the lead and he followed. Once outside she locked her door and both of them went down. A luxurious white car with a chauffeur was waiting for them.
"Miss Rubisha," Chauffeur bowed and with his gloved hand opened the door of the car so they could sit. She acknowledged him and both of them settled inside and the car sped up.
Occasionally she would peek at him with her hands in her lap. He sat with his legs open, and his elbow rested on the side of the door so his chin could relax on the fisted hand. He seed surreal, his face was calm and she didn’t want to look away. He reminded her of another vampire she had seen a long ti ago.
"You enjoy these parties?" he casually asked, not sparring her a glance.
"Yes, as a professional woman, I have to regularly attend these events and I happen to enjoy them as well. Gives a reason to dress up."
"Who could even imagine you beco a vicious protector of your city at night," he slightly grinned and gave her a side glance. She almost blushed at his words and looked away.
They reached the five-star hotel where the party was being held. The car stopped and the chauffeur opened the door for them and they stepped down and straightened their clothes. Rubisha checked her hair and clasped her clutch.
"Am I to offer you my arm?" Silver quizzically asked.
"That’s the whole point of arriving together. Are you going to let a lady walk alone?" her tone was full of disbelief.
"I would but being your neighbour I know I would never hear the end of it," he offered his arm and shooting him a murderous look she took it.
"Not only rude but you are also arrogant with a big head," she muttered and he bit his lip to not laugh. He enjoyed vexing her it gave her cheeks a reddish tint and he liked seeing that.
Before he could retort, they had arrived at the door. Guards recognized Rubisha and bowing to them they opened the glass doors. They walked inside the magnificent hotel which possessed an air of luxury and affluence.
"Welco, so glad you are here," Mayor Kirlian welcod them with a broad smile and winking to Rubisha, whisked Silver away to et the guests.
Everyone was very welcoming and overjoyed to receive such a fine and handso hunter. They had been quite taken aback by him. Due to recent events, hunters had beco significantly popular and Avarance was thriving and receiving funds from all over the world.
Even vampires were tired of Phantom’s bloody obsession and unprovoked attacks. They needed a change and security. Hunters seed to be a viable solution.
"Thank you for keeping our city safe," a middle-aged man with grey hair and an expensive three-piece suit shook hands with him and offered his gratitude.
"You saved my daughter’s life, I am wholly indebted to you," another man added and people flocked to him. Silver seed a bit surprised and overwheld at the reception but he kept a smile on and accepted their gestures.
"Thank you, I am just doing my job. Glad I could be of service," he shook hands with everyone and accepted the gifts they offered him.
Rubisha stood at a distance with a satisfied smile and couldn’t help but gush at him. Until a girl in a tight orange dress approached him and offered him a red rose. Rubisha’s smile disappeared and was replaced by bitterness.
