“Yes, he’s a doctor, and a really good doctor!” said the middle-aged woman.

“I had a bad headache before I went to see him for over a year. I went to hospitals all over, but I couldn’t find a doctor who could pinpoint the cause. I had also seen several Traditional Chinese dical Practitioners. The formulas they prescribed for didn’t work at all. However, my headache was gone once I took herbs prescribed by Dr. Wang,” said the middle-aged woman.

“Really? That doctor looks so young,” said her daughter.

“Yes, I didn’t really trust him at the beginning, but he proved himself to be a fantastic doctor.” She sounded like a supporter of Wang Yao.

As soon as Wang Yao walked out of the maternity ward, he heard soone calling him. It was Pan Jun.

“Hey, what brings you here?” asked Pan Jun.

“My uncle’s wife just gave birth to a baby here. My mom and I ca here to visit her. Are you on duty today?” asked Wang Yao.

“Yes. By the way, I want to ask you sothing,” said Pan Jun.

“What is it?” asked Wang Yao.

“Did you know Li Maoshuang’s uncle is here?” asked Pan Jun.

“I know, I just went to see him this morning. What about him?” asked Wang Yao.

“No wonder! I guess it was you!” Pan Jun seed to suddenly realize sothing.

“His treating doctors claid that they’d made significant progress in treating cancer. I didn’t believe them. They wouldn’t be working here if they were that good,” said Pan Jun.

What?

Wang Yao was confused. After Pan Jun’s explanation, Wang Yao found out that the doctors realized that Li Maoshuang’s uncle, a late-stage cancer patient started to get better amazingly. It was not the last radiance of the setting sun. The doctors were all very surprised. After observing Li Maoshuang’s uncle for several days, they thought it was their treatnt plan that was making him better. Therefore, they were about to up their treatnt plan.

“Go figure,” said Wang Yao.

“Wait, can you cure cancer?!” asked Pan Jun in shock.

To him, being able to cure cancer was significant.

After all, cancer was a global dical problem these days. There hadn’t been any treatnt thods that surfaced which didn’t have side effects. In addition, only early intervention could increase the chances of survival of a cancer patient. If Wang Yao cured a late-stage cancer patient, he would deserve a dical award.

“What do you think?” asked Wang Yao, smiling.

“I heard Li Maoshuang’s uncle is getting better,” said Pan Jun.

“Yes, but he’s not cured,” said Wang Yao.

“It is a miracle for a late-stage cancer patient to get better,” said Pan Jun. “Co to my office, let’s have a chat.”

“Sorry, I have to go. When are you available? We can go and see your uncle,” said Wang Yao.

“I’m on duty this morning. How about in the afternoon?” asked Pan Jun.

“I have to pick up my uncle’s wife this afternoon. How about tomorrow?” said Wang Yao.

“Tomorrow is fine,” said Wang Yao.

Because he had to co back to the hospital in the afternoon, Wang Yao decided to stay in town for lunch. He went to Wang Mingbao’s place.

His phone began ringing incessantly on his way to Wang Mingbao’s store. He took a look and saw that the number was from Qinzhou.

Long Yunfei?

He imdiately knew who was calling him.

“Hello.” Wang Yao picked up the phone.

“Hello, Dr. Wang,” said Long Yunfei.

“How can I help you?” said Wang Yao.

“I just sent you a picture. Please take a look when you are available.” Long Yunfei sounded hoarse and weak at the other side of the phone. Thousands of miles away, he was still in a wheelchair. He looked like he had aged ten years. His eyes were blurry.

He had used all of his social connections lately to build the road Wang Yao demanded him to. As for when the construction would start, it was out of his control. The county would decide the date.

Picture?

Wang Yao opened the pictures Long Yunfei sent to him when he got to Wang Mingbao’s store. There was more than one picture.

They were plans for a road, a road from a village to the town.

Apart from the plans, Long Yunfei also attached the signed docunts from the relevant governnt departnt.

“Haha, he made it,” said Wang Yao, smiling.

Actually, he forced Long Yunfei to do it.

That’s pretty much it.

He decided not to push Long Yunfei’s limits anymore.

He texted a ssage to Long Yunfei: Co to Haiqu in three days.

. . .

Huh!

Long Yunfei breathed a big sigh of relief after he had received the text ssage.

Finally!

He had been tortured by this weird condition lately. He felt hopeless. Everything he had done and every effort he had made were for one purpose. He wanted to get better. He wanted to stand up again. He wanted to be able to walk again.

There should be an airport in Haiqu.

He imdiately made phone calls to book air tickets. However, there was no airport in Haiqu. He would have to fly to Dao City first, then take the bus to Haiqu.

“I’m sorry, Dr. Long, I can’t go with you. I’ve been too busy,” said his assistant.

He was not only tortured by the illness, but also saw the true face of so people.

Since he hadn’t been able to move, his almost lost his job. After all, no organization would employ a disabled person to be the head of a large departnt, unless the person was extrely capable.

He had lost all of his power at work, so his flattery colleagues had all stopped sucking up to him. They didn’t even bother to pretend to care about him.

Suddenly, he lost almost all his so-called friends.

This was the reality.

Reality was cruel.

Never mind!

In the beginning, he wanted to take revenge on those people after he regained his power at work. Gradually, he gave up this thought. Other than being busy getting approval for the road, Long Yunfei had started to read his old dical book again. He used to be passionate about dicine. He had even been to the village to take a good look at it, especially those innocent children.

He built the road for himself as well as those children.

His thoughts had changed.

“Dr. Long, I can go with you,” said one of his colleagues.

“Thank you,” said Long Yunfei.

He hadn’t expected anyone else to help him except for his family at this particular mont.

“You are welco,” said his colleague.

anwhile, Wang Yao was at Wang Mingbao’s store.

“Where would you like to go for lunch?” asked Wang Mingbao.

“Sa place as usual?” suggested Wang Yao.

“Okay,” said Wang Mingbao.

When they got to their usual restaurant, the two of them ordered two mains and one soup.

“Do you want to order more?” asked Wang Mingbao.

“I think this is enough for us,” said Wang Yao.

They chatted a bit while they ate lunch. After lunch, Wang Yao and Wang Mingbao went back to Wang Mingbao’s store. Shortly after, Wang Yao received a call from Zhang Xiuying.

He imdiately drove to the hospital after he hung up. He helped his uncle’s wife be discharged from the hospital, and then drove her back ho.

It was past 3 pm by the ti he had gotten his uncle’s wife ho.

Then, he and his mother went ho.

“Your uncle complained to about his employer again,” said Zhang Xiuying on their way back ho.

“Why?” asked Wang Yao.

“His employer hasn’t paid him for three months,” said Zhang Xiuying.

“That long?” asked Wang Yao.

“Yes. They have two kids now. Your uncle’s wife can’t work at the mont. Your uncle’s really stressed,” said Zhang Xiuying.

“Does he have any plans?” asked Wang Yao.

“He wants to start his own business, to have his own factory,” said Zhang Xiuying.

“His own factory?” asked Wang Yao.

“Yes,” said Zhang Xiuying.

“Does he have the money to do it?” asked Wang Yao.

“He is looking for a business partner who would be happy to offer financial support. He will offer technical support,” said Zhang Xiuying.

Wang Yao didn’t say anything.

He went back to Nanshan Hill after dinner. He needed to prepare for his visit with a paralyzed patient the next day.

As he was reading a dical book, he received a call from Chen Ying, who told him she would return to Beijing tomorrow. Her flight was in the afternoon.

“I can take you to the airport,” said Wang Yao.

“You don’t need to,” said Chen Ying.

“It’s no trouble at all, I’ll pick you up after lunch,” said Wang Yao.

Chen Ying was very nice to him when he was in Beijing. She truly respected him. Wang Yao could feel it. He appreciated Chen Ying’s help and respect.

The next morning, he drove to Lianshan town center after he had finished brewing the decoction. After eting with Pan Jun, they went to Pan Jun’s uncle’s house together.

Pan Jun’s uncle’s house was filled with a sll of herbs.

The old man’s wife was brewing a decoction for her husband. She ca out to say hello as soon as Wang Yao and Pan Jun had arrived.

“Hello, Ma’am,” said Wang Yao.

“Hello, please co in,” said the old woman.

She took out the tea leaves her son bought for her during Chinese New Year, and made Wang Yao and Pan Jun a pot of tea. The tea was too precious for her to drink by herself, so she saved it for company.

“Please, drink so tea,” said the old woman.

“Thank you.” Wang Yao stood up imdiately.

He felt a bit embarrassed to let such an old woman make tea for him.

“Let take a look at the patient first,” said Wang Yao.

“Okay,” said the old woman.

The old man was the sa. He was lying on the bed but looked better.

“Has he been taking the decoction?” asked Wang Yao.

“Yes. He said he’s been having warm feelings in his body,” said the old woman.

“Good, keep taking the decoction,” said Wang Yao.

Wang Yao took out the decoction he brewed.

It mainly contained the ridian Unblocking Powder. Wang Yao also added so other herbs into the decoction, all for one purpose: to unblock the ridians and remove the blood clots.

“Please drink this,” said Wang Yao.

After helping the old man take the decoction, Wang Yao gave him a massage to facilitate the absorption and expansion of the decoction. He also transferred a small amount of Qi into the old man’s body to nurture his organs.

After one hour, Wang Yao started to massage the old man’s brain gently.
