The security division was deployed to all corners of the building looking for enemies while the academics were protected behind alloy reinforced doors so thick that not even a holy rank hunter would be able to take down.

The unfortunate team deployed to the hall was comprised of four mbers, one from each specialization. The burly engineer was covered in alloy armor and had a small round shield that thanks to his trait transford kinetic energy into electricity. This was by no ans a novelty and was hardly useful in battle, but when paired with soone with the ability to manipulate magnetic fields beca a powerful combination.

Despite their power and training, though, they beca helpless when Uriel's presence vanished in front of them and he seemingly rged with the shadows.

His shadow cloak, a combination ability developed by Uriel when attempting to mimic her shadow armor, made it seem as though he too was capable of disappearing into the shadows to those in the security division.

"No wonder Nika brought him along, they have the sa trait!" The engineer shouted in annoyance, unaware that their dic had a thin wire flux around his neck tight enough to prevent him from speaking and almost enough to decapitate him.

'Almost there.' Uriel said as he made an extra effort that was cancelled the mont a kick on his chin sent him taking tumbles on the floor. Nika tried to prevent it, but although the combatant was slower than her he was closer to Uriel.

"You lowered your guard!" The combatant scoffed as he launched a right hook to Nika she didn't bother to dodge and instead blocked by summoning half of the shadow armor helt. The power behind the fist was so trendous the shadow armor almost faltered, but thanks to her deciding not to dodge she was able to unleash a barrage of kicks on the enemy combatant.

Before Uriel could attempt to stand up he was gifted with a generous serving of bullets by the female ranger, whose firing cadence was incredibly high despite the fact that she needed to manually load the clips.

Uriel felt each bullet like daggers on his insides, but the worst part was that the stunning effect caused by the electricity that made it impossible for his body to move despite his unwavering will.

"My turn." The engineer said with a gritty voice as he attempted the stomp once more, only now Nika was too busy fighting the combatant to do anything. Thankfully for Uriel, he still had an ace up his sleeve. The book of the dead that didn't require him to move. All he needed to do was read out loud whatever cringy words appeared on the page and the shadows stored inside his museum would respond to his every command.

"Stop!" dusa shouted, unaware that although it seed Uriel was completely helpless he was still more than ready continue fighting.

"But, Miss Winona, this woman threatened your life." Said the combatant who held Nika against the wall with such force the concrete cracked, thanks only to his physical enhancing trait.

"Not to ntion that this fellow infiltrated the conference." The ranger spoke, yet she stopped shooting the mont dusa spoke.

"We don't know their motives, they may as well have planted a bomb on the building." The engineer pointed out without bothering to take his boot from Uriel's head. Up until that mont the idea had never crossed Uriel's mind, but now he started thinking if it would be possible to send a shadow to do it.

"He's my ex," dusa said, then continued in a long sigh. "he's just having a hard ti after our breakup."

"Who could bla him." The dic adjusted his collar and spoke with a coarse voice. After having the life almost squeeze out of him by the invisible flux wire he sohow still had enough energy to direct a lustful gaze at dusa.

"Why would he co here though?" The engineer tilted his head in puzzlent.

"He thought infiltrating this facility was a romantic gesture big enough for to take him back." dusa replied.

"That is...," The ranger made a long pause before speaking in a shrill voice. "the cutest thing I have ever heard! He was willing to risk his life just to see you!"

"Cancel the security protocol, I'll need a private place to have a chat with them." dusa commanded and held the sa cold deanor until she was left alone with Uriel while Nika went to fetch Luna.

Uriel looked at dusa wanting to ask her a myriad of questions while at the sa ti not wanting to be the firs to speak. They remained looking awkwardly at each other, only now Uriel didn't take his eyes from hers despite the danger it entailed.

"Alright, you better start making sense of things or else..." Nika started speaking as she wheeled Luna inside the room.

"Luna! You're wounded!" dusa gasped.

"No." She replied dryly as she was angry that dusa went as far as to call security on Uriel.

"I know you have many questions to ask and I would like to answer them, but I was afraid that if I did you will never see the sa way. You see, on our way here I realized sothing about my 'trait'. It made rethink my entire identity and well... my grampa confird it."

"Why not just keept it a secret? What could be so huge that you needed to distance yourself from us?" Nika tapped the floor with an impatient feet.

"Well..." dusa said as she unbuttoned the long coat revealing a rock band T-shirt and denim pants, but she went even further and took off her shirt.

"They're perkier than I thought..." Nika gasped.

"Thank you, they're beautiful." Uriel added.

"I'm not a werewolf or anything in between humans and cryptids, I'm a cryptid." dusa stuttered as she tapped on her bellybutton where a slight shimring betrayed the presence of a flux orb. Instead of the shock and bewildernt dusa expected a smirk was drawn on Uriel's face as he opened his shirt and showed he had a flux orb of his own.

"Welco to the club." He said.

When dusa revealed that she found out she was actually a cryptid many things started making sense, like the fact that she was incredibly stronger than the average hunter even at the beginning of her career or that she was able to use a skill from the mont she beca a hunter. Furthermore, they had long suspected she was a hybrid as even the late Dolminico boss told her, but Luna felt there was so clarification needed.

"I am not an expert on hybrids as I don't understand my condition any more than you do, but at this point I can say for certain that you are not a full cryptid." Luna declared.

"But... I have a flux orb!" She stuttered.

"It's a spectrum. Take and my sister Cassandra as an example. She was born in her human form and lived as a human on her first years. My case the opposite as I lived in my full wolf form, but after I turned into my human form you couldn't tell I was different in any aningful way." Luna added to her point.

"And I still have no clue how did a flux orb got inside my chest, but maybe it's a sign our bodies are getting ready to beco holy rank hunters." Uriel proposed.

"You ntioned in the past that the wild girl you t was a holy rank hunter, did she have a flux orb?" Asked Luna.

"No." He replied too swiftly for dusa's liking.

"Really, are you absolutely sure there was no orb anywhere in her body?"

"I'm positive."Uriel said, betraying the fact that he had seen her naked long enough to be certain beyond any doubts and earning himself a hostile glare from his friends.

"I think I know who has the answer to this, but please, be on your best behavior when you et him." dusa said as she stood up from the chair.

They followed her across the Mapple headquarters until they reached an isolated wing where Mapple corp. employees were not present anymore. It is impossible to put into words the feeling that walking across a place that should be brimming with people yet was deserted instead gave to the hunters, but dusa seed calm up until the mont she knocked on a door.

"Winnie!" Said a man of old age dressed in fancy clothes Uriel that in the past made Uriel mistake him as a butler.

"Hey, Walter, long ti no see." He said in a casual tone that left dusa in utter disconcert.

"He is my grandfather, Walter Works, you can't speak to him like that." dusa knew of Uriel's expedition to Chichén Itzá and she also knew Nika worked for the Mapple corp. in the past, but she ignored they knew him in person.

"I know, he also owes money." Uriel glared at Walter who smiled wryly.
