"Lucifer? That na rings a bell." Luna said with a pensive finger on her lips as the na sounded familiar, yet entirely alien at the sa ti.
"How co you don't know about him... her... whatever. It's the big bad guy! Everyone should know that!" Said Nika while crossing herself multiple tis.
"Hey! It's my mother you're talking about! And don't forget that she fell while fighting for humanity and all she got in return was to be sealed, tortured and forever drained of her blood to keep her weak and to make Serum." Sam snarled.
"So that's where Serum cos from, it's actually blood of an angel." Luna said in a tone too casual to convey her excitent, her gleaming eyes locked on Sam the sa way a predator looks its prey and he closed in with an hypodermic needle no one knew she even had in the first place.
"What do you think you're doing, Luna, back off! I'm serious! Soone take her off of !" Sam yelped when the needle poked through his skin and struggled to shake Luna off, though no one paid any heed to what was going on.
"I thought angels were supposed to be on humanity's side. Why would they betray an angel? " Bella tilted her head in confusion.
"For money, what else? As soon as they found out angel blood's ability to heal hunters they realized there was money to be made." Uriel replied nonchalantly.
"Sort of, yes. My father told they tried torturing her for years so she would spill the secrets of her race, but all they managed to do was turn her into a vengeful monster." Sam said while clenching his fists.
"So... that's why you founded the Fallen corporation and turned against our city," Nika nodded, then after earning herself a few angry stares from her companions she excused herself. "I'm not saying I condone it, just that I understand his reasons."
"The mont I started planning my mother's release I realized there was no going back. I was alone, afraid and you have no idea how many tis I wanted to get on my knees and beg for your help, but after what happened in Easter island I knew you wouldn't take my side." Sam looked Uriel in the eye with an expectant gaze, but Uriel wasn't having it.
"I get that you were mad at after what I did and we all hoped you would eventually co back to us, but don't think for a second we are ever going to forgive you for what you did."
"Like I said, I get that you're mad and wanted to set your mother free, but it's not like you fought against the ones who captured her. You destroyed an entire fucking city!" Nika shouted.
"I didn't an to do that, actually... I just wanted to open my way to the dungeon beneath the city, but in order to do that I needed to beco stronger. If you didn't ddle in my plans I would have beca a holy rank hunter while providing all sorts of benefits for the great majority of the population. When the Fallen corp.
ran things in the city it beca safer, people weren't hungry anymore and..."
"You worked with fucking cryptids, dude." Nika interrupted him.
"Yeah, and you were an to everyone." Mark added, only to shrink back into his own skin when the Dungeon Raiders glared at him with a look that said 'one more word and you're dead'.
"One more word and you're dead." Said Uriel just to make sure he understood the point and the conversation progressed, though Uriel didn't get much more information out of those present.
In contrast, Alice felt as though her eyes had been opened when she realized that both the party responsible for destroying the city of Texas and those who stood against them were chatting like old friends. It got to a point where she wondered if ever in the history of mankind people ignored one of the wealthiest persons in the world like Hathaway was being ignored.
"What now?" Sam asked.
"I'm not taking you back in, if that's what you're asking." Uriel replied.
"But I saved you!" Sam insisted.
"Uriel, you making decisions for the company has always been fine by and I usually don't intervene even when I'm against your choices, but I think I should have a say in this too.
Sam wasn't just your friend, he was also one of the few people I had the pleasure of calling a friend." Luna said, prompting Sam, the half angel and current host to an all powerful entity such as Water warlock, to beco teary eyed.
"Luna..." He muttered as he wiped a stubborn tear from his eye.
"I also think he's not a good fit for our company," She said, effectively killing any hope of reconciliation Sam could have had for an instant. "moving on to a more important subject, his blood isn't Serum. It's just regular hunter blood, I'm certain."
"Then how did he heal ?" Uriel asked.
"Actually, I didn't... it was 'him'." Said Sam, still careful enough not to ntion Water warlock's na in front of people who didn't previously know about his existence.
"Everyone present should give a blood sample." Said Luna, with a set of needles in her hands.
"Where is she even getting them from?" Nika gasped.
"I don't consent to any dical tests!" Mark said, but Uriel cut him not just short, he also cut him with his pocket knife so fast he didn't even notice when his hand started bleeding.
Luna sucked up the blood from the small Swiss army knife with her syringe and then proceeded to extract blood from everyone in the room. In a laboratory she would have been able to see the samples under the microscope and notice the differences, but now all she had to go by was her sll.
"This is... strange." Said Luna after sniffing Hathaway's blood for the first ti.
"Let see." Said Sam as he activated his all seeing trait to explore the mysteries of the microscopic world.
"His blood is different! It's not Serum, but it's also very different from anything I've seen!"
"Congratulations, you are an angel," Said Luna to Hathaway who remained unblinking. "We know Serum cos from angel blood, but it's likely refined and since I don't know the process, I won't be able to make any."
"This makes absolutely no fucking sense, how can Sam whose mother is an actual angel and who has wings not be an angel, when Hathaway just is even though he looks like a regular human?" Nika exclaid.
