"Hi friends, this is Uriel Sage and this is my personal Vlog ant only for you guys. First, I want to say I'm sorry for not going with you, but I'm sure you're all safe and there was little I could do to speed things up. I decided it was better to infiltrate the city to gather information and make sure they would let you land safely inside the city.

"After I separated from the army unit dispatched to 'rescue' you, I've been having lots of fun! I've encountered many different cryptids and I'm sure you'll be very excited to hear about them , Luna. I also found so nice souvenirs to gift you guys, but you'll have to wait until we see each other in person to find out what they are.

dusa, I've tried several new foods, they're delicious and I bet your cooking would make them taste even better. Nika, stop pestering Luna.

"Oh! Right, I almost forgot to ntion sothing. The fact that hunters can rank up by proximity is now confird. When so many monster rank cryptids died near the soldiers, they all beca stronger. Rusty, the evolved that acts like a jerk all the ti, was the most affected since he was the only evolved.

Mayhem, who recently beca an ascended was also afected and Young, who had been an ascended for the longest ti was affected too, but in a lesser degree than them.

"However, it seems that killing monster rank cryptids has such little effect on heavenly rank hunters I couldn't perceive any improvent in her. We can't yet rule out the possibility that she was still affected, but the impact must have been minimal. This ans that to rank up, a heavenly rank hunter would need to be near entity rank cryptids when they die.

"I hope you are well right now and again, I'm very sorry to not being there with you... but to be honest, I'm sure you understand how worried I am for Mister Scofield. I don't know if I'll be able to help, but I need to be by his side." Uriel kept his 'Vlog smile the whole ti, but it vanished as soon as the recording stopped and his face beca grim.

Everything he said was technically true, but also not as happy as he made it seem. It had only been a couple days, but so far everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong. He ran out of batteries within the first night and he was forced to keep the summon active with his own flux energy.

Before, there were so many heavenly rank hunters packed together that most cryptids were too afraid to engage, but now Uriel was by himself his energy signature was enough to draw the unwated attention of every single beast rank cryptid in the vicinities.

The annoying fue follets didn't give him a minute of respite and kept hurling all sorts of elental missiles at him and whenever he lowered his defenses, an alligator would attempt to drag him under the shallow waters. While the cryptids in the barrenlands were stronger, the swamp was filled with opportunistic predators that didn't let him take even a minute of rest.

But as difficult as surviving in the dark wetlands of Louisiana, the first night ended on a positive note.

[System notice] Physical training level 3 completed.

Reward: 1000 trites

Running all night while spending flux to keep the summon of his faithful feline turned out to be a great exercise and he also got the chance to rest during the day. Receiving 1k trites was the sa as getting 1 million credits, given that the exchange rate was 1:1000. In a single night he earned more cash than an average hunter would ever see in their bank accounts.

It allowed him to buy whatever gear and commodities he wanted from the souvenir shop without feeling it was a waste anymore. He also used the [auction] ability on his museum, but he soon realized it wasn't as straightforward as buying items from the souvenir shop.

The way the auction way worked remained a mystery to Uriel, but just because he spent the money didn't an he would get the item. He could place a bid by consuming the necessary amount of credits, but in order to increase his chances to actually get the item he needed to offer an extra amount of credits.

The problem was that if he failed to win the auction, he wouldn't get his cash back which, to him, was even worse than being stabbed in the heart. In the end, he decided it wasn't worth the gamble and would only ever use the auction as a last resort.

After the second night, though, he was so exhausted, he had no choice but to seek for a safe place. The problem with that was that finding such a place in the middle of the wilderness was impossible. Every nook and cranny was either filled with nasty insects or a cryptid had already made it their ho. Besides, he had been so busy running away, he didn't know where he was anymore.

"If I go west, I'll eventually find my way to Texas, but the further I head into the wetlands, the more dangerous cryptids I find. What do you think?" He asked the disinterested jaguar who gnawed on a branch besides him. Taking a detour would an having a less dangerous trip, but it would also make his solo trip worthless since the very reason he decided to go on his own was to save ti.

After resting for a few more minutes, Uriel cancelled the summon and continued on his way west. Taking a higher risk usually ant getting a higher reward too and it wasn't long until that ca to happen.

While he walked, he suddenly felt sothing hard beneath his feet. It was like walking on a rock, only it was completely flat. Uriel couldn't see it since the waters were murky and dark, but he asured the 'rock' with his feet and found out what it actually was.

"This used to be an asphalt road!" He exclaid in joy and decided to follow it and see where it led.
