"How could you do this to ? I really thought I was going to die!" Nika voiced out with teary eyes. She felt stupid and embarrassed for falling by Uriel's cheap trick, but she also couldn't deny the sense of relief that ca once she realized it was all a set up.

"So, you're saying you preferred it was actually a cryptid?" Asked Uriel pretending to be confused, but he was beyond amused.

"I get that you needed to trick them into thinking they were in danger, but why did you do that to too!?"

"Well, when Cassandra asked to put them in line, I thought back at all the tis you've made my life difficult. Consider this payback for all the tis you've annoyed ."

"So, does this an we really are starting on a clean slate?"

"Yep, but don't push it. If I catch you again trying to peek at when I'm taking a shower I'll probably do sothing even worse."

"Is that a promise?" Nika teased.

"It seems you didn't learn your lesson." Uriel let out a sigh.

As usual, when night fell the swamp beca a lively place once more, not that the soldiers were too thrilled about it. Sleeping was made impossible for them due to the myriad of help screams that ca out of the dark forest. Even if they knew the cryptids responsible for those screams, even if they knew it was a trap, it was still difficult to close an eye amidst those unsettling noises.

But that wasn't Uriel's case, who after defeating an entity rank cryptid in single combat had no worries about beast rank cryptids anymore. Instead, all he cared about now was about his friends safety, particularly Mister Scofield

Ti was a pressing matter for him and there was no saying in the possible consequences of so many doppelgangers mimicking his trait. He had no clue as to what Mister Scofield's trait was, but if he truly was a holy rank hunter, stronger even than Jon Hunter, then the consequences would be no lesser than world ending.

If a single Holy rank hunter was able to destroy a city, a bunch of copycats with the sa trait was beyond unthinkable.

The unit broke camp before even the sun ca out, it was the usual thing for the army, but even though Uriel was the only one to sleep properly, he wasn't a morning person and had a lot of trouble waking up, but it was fixed as soon as he found himself wading in the still waters of the swamp once more.

His mystical sense allowed him to spot any cryptids before they beca a threat, sothing really useful for long trips, but he still wished he could ride his jaguar. It was by no ans comfortable, but it was way faster and it was also capable of finding its way even in the dense swamp forest.

After the 'prank' Uriel played on them, the troublemakers remained silent most of the way and since they barely got any sleep, they had no energy leftover to complain anymore which made the trip less annoying for everyone.

Finding the easiest path to traverse the wetlands was difficult because, although everyone had traits, there were three evolved slowing them down and the more ti passed the more anxious Uriel beca. When noon ca and he realized they had made little to no progress, Uriel finally had to make a decision.

He could either go back with them to the Pegasus and wait until dusa fixed it or he could separate from the group, infiltrate Texas gacity and investigate what happened to Mister Scofield. The first option seed to be the safest, but nothing would stop Sam from taking down the zeppelin using the city's defenses if they simply showed up.

Infiltrating the city on his own had many advantages, like finding out whether or not the rangers and the Cryptid hunting agency would back them up before attempting to enter a city overrun with cryptids.

But before leaving could even be an option, he needed to make sure the unit knew the way to the zeppelin or else they might get lost in the swamp just like all the soldiers before them. Thankfully, he already made sure that Nika would play her role responsibly, or so he hoped.

The walk continued while Uriel figured out his next steps and after a couple hours Stella broke the moody silence with an excited voice.

"The zeppelin is right there!"

"Is it close enough for Iris to communicate?" Cassandra imdiately asked.

"No, it's about twenty kiloters, but I'm sure it's a zeppelin." Stella's trait was related to eyesight and it worked like a microscope, but it also gave her a much better sight than most hunters which is why she was able to detect the ship from such a distance.

"Then, I guess it's ti I go." Uriel inford, leaving everyone but Nika shocked.

"So that's why you set up, huh. To make sure I wouldn't drop the ball when you're not around."

"You can't go! We're on this damn mission because of you and this is to rescue your friends." Rusty let out all of his pent up frustrations, but before he could fall into one of his very annoying and ti consuming rants Cassandra cut him short.

"Wake up, does it look like he needs help? Didn't you see him fight?"

"Yeah, he's not that strong. He just used a strong weapon he must have taken from our armory. If I had a gun like that, I wouldn't have any issues killing as many monster rank cryptids as I wanted."

"That's his trait Corporal dumbass! If we could hand out advanced weapons to all the hunters who joined us, the war would have been over by now. He started his career as an evolved, just like you guys, and I asked him to help you rank up doing whatever it was he did with Mayhem."

At that mont, several realizations finally hit the troublemakers and even the rest of the army unit, but before they could even ask questions they noticed that he was already gone leaving behind his backpack.
