"So what?" The chief of the cannibal's deep voice resounded in the 'dining room'.

"If there's enough food to go around, you won't have the need to kill others anymore." Uriel explained, thinking that maybe he didn't understand.

"That's not how it works. Maybe at first I would have taken you up on the offer, eating our kin was disgusting and painful, we all experienced it," He took a look around at his n and then continued. "we ate because we had to, because we needed to make sure as many of us would survive until soone ca to rescue us, but ti passed and no one ca."

"I ca." Uriel replied shortly but the man ignored him.

"The first bite was as revolting as it was to be expected, the worst part was the tallic taste of blood, but thanks to that we were able to survive another day. Not just that, we were also able to make tools and torches with the remains and thought that, maybe, there was a chance to exit this cursed place.

We knew the stories, we were raised hearing them from our elders..." The look on the chief's eyes changed and beca much more similar to that of his followers, sothing that didn't bode well for the Dungeon Raiders.

"Stop, please, don't do this." Uriel tried to reason with him in an attempt to calm him down while keeping both hands under the table, as though trying to keep his legs from shaking. But the chief continued his monologue.

"But there was this voice in our heads. It didn't say much and only so of us could hear it. 'More' it said, repeating it over and over. Suddenly, eating just enough to not die wasn't enough and we started causing argunts between each other to create victims, until we were too strong for them. We overpowered them and now it's our right to eat them, such is the way of nature.

Let there be no more words."

By the ti the chief finished speaking, Uriel knew there was no way to reach an agreent with him. There was fire in his eyes when he spoke about the vile act of cannibalism, a burning passion that told him there was nothing in this world that could force the chief to go back to his humane self.

Then, a thunderous sound broke the silence and the chief fell on his back, chair and all as Uriel pulled his gun, still smoking, from under the table.

"Everyone back off!" Uriel said as he nacingly showed his revolver.

"Yes!" dusa smiled from ear to ear when she saw the man she saw as incarnate evil fall to the hands of her hero, but her smile was short lived because as soon as she went to grab the unconscious Ika from the ground the chief's voice was heard.

"What do you think you're doing? She was gifted to and I'm saving her for later." The big man stood up, revealing a dark bruise on his abdon, but other than that he looked perfectly fine.

"She's not leftovers, she's a human being!" dusa shouted as she glared at the man with her trait active, channeling as much flux energy as she could muster, though he didn't seem to be affected. "Watch out! He's a heavenly rank!" dusa shouted to the top of her lungs, but it was already too late. Experience tales at My Virtual Library Empire

Uriel was already mid jump towards the cannibal chief who greeted him with a powerful backhand slap that should have sent him flying, but what happened instead was Nika appearing out of his shadow and blocking the hit, thus leaving the enemy open for Uriel's fist.

The fist carried all the montum he mustered from the jump using Dash, which forced the chief back a couple steps.

"Not bad." He said as blood trickled down his mouth.

"I got him!" Uriel exclaid.

"No, you fucking didn't!" Nika grunted grabbin her forearm. "the bastard took a bite out of ."

"You taste just as you look." The cannibal licked his lips.

anwhile, the rest of the cannibals had broken out from their stupor and threw themselves on top of the hunters from all sides. They were outnumbered and completely unard, though what made things more difficult was the fact that their enemies weren't cryptids, but human beings.

Even if they commited sinful acts that went against humanity, they still looked just like regular people. If anything, their skinny fras and sickly complexion only made them more worth of pity in their eyes.

Luna's case was different though, because she made sure the mont when a cannibal ca at her with the intention to harm her was also his last. With a clear grasp on human biology, she was able to deliver mortal wounds with minimal effort and the man fell limp on the ground seemingly unhard, but his internal organs were completely destroyed.

Realizing that six different cannibals were piling up on Sam, Luna took the chance to take off her hoodie revealing her pale skin only to those who looked at her with more hunger than lust. It was a necessary step to begin the painful process of shapeshifting into a werewolf. Her long howl stating that no longer were the cannibals the apex predator in that cavern.

dusa did her best to hold her ground, but even her powerful moves weren't enough to deal with so many enemies at the sa ti. Of all those present she was probably the strongest in close combat, but that only applied if the fight was one on one. Now, instead of her usual elegant moves she fought like a cornered beast.

The ovewhelming number of enemies amounted to their strategic disadvantage ant the first mistake could be their last and even when they gave it their all, the best they could do was hold their ground. Everyone needed assistance, while at the sa ti being unable to provide any to their companions, until soone finally upped their ga and took the reins of the situation.
