Chapter 39: The Thumper...Evolved?

Lucien imdiately shouted at the spider gatekeeper.

"Bring more webs, bind it tighter!"

The gatekeeper spider was hanging on a thread but still moved its legs, controlling the spider webs to quickly surround the thumper.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

At the sa ti as the webs wound around the thumper, the first layer of the web snapped.

Tak!

The thumper imdiately thrashed around even more fiercely, its long neck stretched to the back, trying to gnaw on the sticky web.

Lucien’s face darkened.

No. Even the second or third layer of webs can’t contain that beast.

Since that’s the case—

Lucien clicked the [summon native] button again and shouted,

"Venomous spider! Co out!"

Plop!

A golden retriever-sized spider popped out of the thin air, imdiately landing on the stretched webs perfectly, its body didn’t even sway.

"Quick. Go to that beast and inject your venom!"

"Kiikkk!"

The venomous spider imdiately crawled on the web without a sound, appearing right on the thumper’s body in the blink of an eye.

"Hissss!"

While the thumper was swinging its body, the venomous spider’s legs stayed firmly on the web sticking to the shell and it opened its mouth, a pair of fangs glinted in the dark.

The next second—

Stab!

The spider bit where the web didn’t cover the worm’s shell, but the sparks exploded, the fang clashed with the shell hard.

Tang!

The spider’s fangs trembled, fine cracks appeared on the surface.

Oh no. Even the spider’s fangs can’t breach the worm’s shell?

Thump! Thump!

Sensing the clash, the worm’s suction head imdiately turned towards the venomous spider, its mouth opened wide, the sharp teeth throbbing viciously.

"Hisss!"

No— the spider will die!

Lucien’s heart tightened and in that instant, he made a cruel decision, his inner soul bowed and apologised to the spider.

"Venomous spider! Inject the venom inside that thing’s mouth!"

The spider paused, the worm’s head imdiately enveloped it, the sharp teeth piercing its back but the spider’s fangs imdiately pierced the tender flesh of the worm’s inner mouth.

Stab!

Green venom seeped into the flesh and the next second—

Crunch.

The spider’s body burst, green blood mixed with venom splashed everywhere inside the worm’s mouth.

"Hissss..."

The worm felt a brief numbness inside its mouth, and its movent slowed down.

Lucien’s sharp eyes caught the subtle movent and he imdiately waved at the gatekeeper spider.

"Tie more webs!"

The gatekeeper spider imdiately wound several more webs around the thumper, quickly turning it into a semi-solid pupa.

Thump.

A faint shriek leaked from the pupa and the pupa shook, but the force was way weaker than before.

The spider gatekeeper’s instinct imdiately pulled the prey hard, pulling the straight pupa down the ground.

Bang!

The thumper’s huge body fell, dust splashed into the air and the gatekeeper spider imdiately dragged the prey with all of its strength.

"Kikkkkk!"

Thump.

The pupa wriggled half a beat slower and was dragged across the ground, stopping right inside the yard.

He has never tried to manipulate a living thing in his house, but this one was bound—

Maybe it will work?

Lucien closed his eyes and imagined the pupa being teleported to the spider dungeon.

Swish!

The pupa instantly disappeared and deep at the spider Dungeon’s chasm, a huge pupa appeared, its body still thrashing around slowly, becoming weaker and weaker.

It works!

Okay, so as long as the target is bound, dead or unmoving, the usual house control works even without a skill.

Lucien’s inner soul imdiately pumped his fist and scread to the sky.

He finally got this bastard! Alive too!

Throb. Throb.

Faint throbbing pain stabbed Lucien’s head but he massaged his temple as he tugged the corner of his lips.

Okay, ordinary house control still strained his mind...

But it was worth it.

Once the first thumper was caught alive, Lucien’s confidence soared and he imdiately commanded the gatekeeper spider,

"Spread more webs! Tie them to those buildings!"

"We have more prey to catch!"

"Kikkk!"

The gatekeeper spider, having caught its first big prey, excitedly weaved more webs, quickly filling the 50 ters area around Lucien with white webs.

While Lucien and the spider were happily setting up traps, Lurenzo stared at the whole scene blankly.

Crazy.

What kind of monster is that?

He had never seen such a monster before!

Is it an E-rank monster? No, it must be D-Rank, right??

And— What’s with that lord??

He could control spiders and store a living beast, making it disappear out of thin air.

He must be a beast tar, right?

And...definitely not an ordinary one!

Lurenzo’s mind already spiralled out of control when a familiar thumping noise sounded.

Thump.

The red fog shifted.

A new, gigantic figure slowly thumped out, heading straight towards Lucien’s house.

Lurenzo’s heart dropped.

Another one??

But Lucien’s eyes sharpened. He motioned the spider gatekeeper to hide patiently, observing the second thumper.

Thump.

The thumper inched closer, already right a few inches in front of the web spread far from Lucien’s house.

Lucien’s breath hitched, he subconsciously squeezed the sleeping Mumu tighter.

Co closer, co closer, yes, just like that—

But the second thumper suddenly paused.

Its body wriggled in the air and...it slowly moved to the side, avoiding the spider web.

!!

A layer of frost covered Lucien’s face.

Inside, his soul banged his head to the street with a loud thump.

What the hell!

How did that thumper notice the web??

The first one didn’t!

Is this one smarter?

Or...

An ominous guess crept into Lucien’s mind.

Did it watch the first thumper...and learn from that?

Shudder.

Lucien imdiately shouted at the gatekeeper spider, his voice urgent.

"Control the web! Tie up that beast!"

"Now!"

The gatekeeper spider didn’t wait for the prey to touch the web and imdiately manipulated the web to stretch towards the worm, imdiately winding around it like a living rope.

Swish!

But then...

Lucien’s eyes widened.

Lurenzo stared in disbelief.

The second thumper...

Twisted its huge body and nimbly dodged the winding spider web.

"Hisss!"

It imdiately retreated several ters away and thumped towards the area not covered by the web— the back of Lucien’s house.

Lucien’s heart instantly jumped out of his chest.

Fckk!!

That thumper is so cunning!

No, this won’t do!

There wasn’t enough ti to weave another layer of webs so Lucien racked his brain hard.

Think! Think! What else—

Wait. There wasn’t only one gatekeeper spider.

Lucien imdiately pressed the [Summon Native] button and shouted,

"Second gatekeeper! Co out!"

Swoosh!
