Chapter 36: Hang On!

A wave of heat hit Lucien’s skin.

The sound bood right at his ears, ringing, sounding distant.

An invisible shockwave swept over and hit Lucien right on.

"Ugh!"

"Ahhhh!" Lurenzo gripped Mumu tightly, his legs clamping tight at the motorcycle and yet he was almost thrown away!

"Cough."

Blood trickled down Lucien’s lips and ears, his inner organs throbbing.

His inner soul was already lying limply, eyes dazed, but outside, Lucien gritted his teeth and flew past the awakeners and hunters below!

In Lucien’s eyes, the golden barrier grew bigger, closer.

Only a few ters away!

Lucien’s breath quickened, his grips tightened.

But the captain wouldn’t let him go just like that.

"Attack!!!"

The second wave of attacks chased behind.

Swish!

Boom!

A fire arrow shot straight at Lurenzo’s back and Lurenzo could already feel the heat burning his clothes.

"Ahhh!"

Lurenzo slapped Lucien’s shoulders and Lucien imdiately drove the motorcycle to the left.

Shinggg!

The fire arrow grazed the motorcycle’s body, leaving a charred mark before exploding a few ters ahead.

Boom!

The shockwave pushed Lucien’s motorcycle by a distance and almost threw the three of them out!

"Ughh!"

"Gyah!"

Lucien’s body almost slipped out, and his slow movent couldn’t catch the motorcycle in ti.

Lurenzo, who was almost thrown away, imdiately grabbed Lucien’s waist, put him on the back and took the front seat.

"Switch!"

Mumu was shoved back onto Lucien’s arms.

"Muuu!"

The motorcycle rapidly plumted, but Lurenzo forcibly raised the altitude once more.

"Hang on tight!"

Swish!

Black clouds billowed ahead, the three figures cut through the dust and burning ambers.

The ends of Lucien’s black hair caught sparks with a sizzle.

"Pah! Pah!"

Lurenzo’s face was instantly dyed black with ashes and smoke, even Mumu in Lucien’s arms changed from a blue sli to a gray sli.

"Muu!"

[Toxin countdown: 03:00]

[Skill duration:

00:01]

The mont Lurenzo passed through the billowing black cloud, the skill effect ended and the motorcycle slowly revealed itself.

The front of the bike had already touched the golden barrier and a ripple appeared in the air.

Swish!

The awakeners watched the battered motorcycle passing through the golden barrier with two people and one monster on it, the barrier trembling slightly before staying still.

"Ah...damn, that’s crazy."

The hunters were stunned in awe but the soldiers’ captain roared until veins popped up.

"Chase them! Anyone with vehicles, get on!!"

Row after row of vehicles shot out of the barrier.

But it was too late.

Lucien’s max-speed motorcycle had already disappeared into the orange-red sky, the sun slowly set and darkness approached.

It was impossible to catch up now.

The pursuers could only linger around and ca back empty-handed.

At the sa ti, Onous who received the news slamd the table hard.

Bang!

Crack!

"Incompetent!"

His green mist swirled fiercely, everything it touched imdiately darkened.

The people around Onous hurriedly stepped back, their faces slowly turning purple.

Noticing their discomfort, Onous suppressed his anger and sat back with a thud.

"Huh. Those two people." Onous sneered, his snake-like eyes flashed with a green light.

"Let’s wait. They will co back to the city one day."

And that day— will be their burial day!

[Toxin countdown: 02:00]

Lucien slumped over Lurenzo’s body, his mouth moved slowly, like a sloth.

"Lu..ren..."

"Hey! Hey! Where do we go??"

"Civil...city..."

Hearing Lucien’s voice, Lurenzo looked back and saw Lucien’s face turning purple and blue.

!!

"Ahhh! The hell! My lord! Are you okay??"

Heh. Serves you right.

Lurenzo was tempted to imdiately kick the Lord down but thinking that the slave would also die if the lord died—

He imdiately worried for his own life.

"What’s wrong with you, my lord??"

"...poiso..ned."

"Ah, what poison?"

"The spi...der’s... neuro...to...."

"Neurotoxin? Why didn’t you say so?? How long can you hold on?"

"Two..."

"Two minutes? Damn. Where’s the nearest hospital??"

"Just...go ho."

"And where’s your ho?"

Lurenzo’s temple twitched and he was itching to punch Lucien in the face.

Hello, sir? He’s not a seer!

"Mumu...guide..."

"Muuu!" The half-dead Mumu trapped Lurenzo’s shoulders and imdiately guided him.

Every ti Lurenzo was about to make the wrong turn, Mumu’s saliva would burn his skin.

"Muuu!"

Sizzle.

"Ouch! Ouch!! You bad monster!!"

With tears in his eyes, Lurenzo sped up all the way to the Civil city.

[01:50]

The journey that took the sky bus ten minutes to arrive was forcibly compressed to under two minutes, so fast that the motorcycle started to smoke.

Oh, no, please don’t break down yet!

Lurenzo prayed to all Gods ever existed.

As the countdown reached 1 minute, the Civil City’s blue barrier was already looming in the distance, like a lighthouse in the dark.

"My lord! We are close! Hang on!"

[00:45]

Swoosh!

More and more smoke billowed from the motorcycle and the handle in Lurenzo’s hands slowly heated up.

Just a little bit more!

[00:40]

Civil City guards spotted the billowing black cloud and the motorcycle whizzing like a teor.

They pointed spotlights over that place, guns pointed at the group.

"Stop! Or we will shoot— "

Then, they saw Lucien’s pale face behind Lurenzo.

Their faces imdiately changed 180°.

"It’s the new awakener! Quick! Let him in!"

The guards imdiately parted like Moses parting the red sea and Lurenzo almost slipped.

?? Just who is this young man? Even city guards respect him so much!

"Thanks, brothers and sisters!"

Lurenzo’s figure whizzed past, entering the barrier and imdiately rushing towards Lucien’s house— all under Mumu’s guide.

He noticed that Mumu, as a monster, wasn’t restricted by the barrier in the slightest.

Did the city register this pet too? Damn, what an influence.

[00:10]

Lucien’s mind was already blurry, his breath slowed down and he almost fell off several tis.

"Ughh! My lord! Just a little bit more!"

Lurenzo gripped Lucien’s arm with one hand and another hand steering the handle.

In his heart, he was already cursing the lord several tis.

Going ho instead of the hospital? Die, you bastard!

As the last ten seconds ticked down, Lucien’s house was already right in front and Mumu imdiately bit Lurenzo’s neck.

"Muuuu!"

Bad slave! Stop there!

"Ouch! Ouch! Young master, good boy, don’t bite!"

Lurenzo complained but he still flew the motorcycle to the house shrouded in a white mist.

In the dark night, it was like a horror movie.

What kind of strange house is that??

Lurenzo’s rchant instinct was tingling.

[00:03]

Lurenzo passed through the white mist and imdiately slamd the brake.

Screech!

"We are here!"

Right when the three people stopped, the motorcycle jolted hard and Lurenzo’s face changed.

"Get away!"

He pushed Lucien and Mumu out as he himself rolled away.

The next second—

Boom!

A small explosion swallowed the motorcycle and it crashed right at Lucien’s yard.

Thick black smoke rose to the sky, mingling with the white mist.

"Cough! Cough! Cough!"

Lurenzo coughed his lungs out and was about to look at Lucien when the ground at the yard moved like a wave.

Grrrkkk.

Lurenzo’s eyes widened, his body rooted to the ground.

Skkrrrk.

The ground gently raised Lucien’s body and imdiately carried it into the house with Mumu bouncing behind.

"Mu! Mu!"

When the countdown reached zero—

Lucien’s figure has already disappeared, leaving Lurenzo with his mouth wide open.

What...was that?
