The whale advanced with light steps while Ruri, on its back, looked over her shoulder at that pair of eyes without showing fear. Sothing intrigued her; those eyes evoked a peculiar and familiar sensation. Her mind worked quickly, leading her to murmur.
"That’s soul power... master, what is that?"
As soon as she spoke those words, the eyes closed. Imdiately, the dense electrical laws of that realm twisted sinisterly, causing a suffocating sensation. Spears made of lightning, several ters in length, ford threateningly in the air. In these spears, the sa triple power of life sharpened to the extre. It was the sa defense system as the realm of flas.
The whale snorted; this ti, they were already familiar with this chanism and didn’t want to waste ti, desiring to confirm what was ahead as quickly as possible.

They arrived incredibly close to the core of the place, elevated twenty ters high. Below, a sea of lightning traversed the space, falling like celestial punishnt.
Ruri felt the intensity of those lightning bolts; a distressing sensation passed lightly through her mind. These bolts possessed a power of annihilation and death infinitely greater than those they had faced before; despite the distance, it still affected her. However, this impression perated only half of the bolts and the sensation. Mixing with this power, there was sothing opposite, sothing pure and welcoming.
It was then that she realized sothing extraordinary: all that electrical power was being drawn as it fell, converging to a single location.
Soon, Ruri and the whale looked forward intensely and saw what was attracting and directly receiving all that unbelievable power. Imposingly lodged in the ground was a five-ter-long spear made of white bones.
That pair of eyes finally opened again, and a soul power sprouted in their direction. The eyes clearly emanated from that bone spear.
"That’s the spirit of the weapon," the whale spoke lightly with complete confidence.
Ruri widened her eyes, unable to comprehend it. She looked at those eyes and felt they were observing her, sensing her curiosity completely pure, like that of a newborn.
"This spirit was born recently and still lacks knowledge, goodness, or malice," said the whale, looking at Ruri, also impressed. "Thanks to the power of the laws from the divine realm, you’ve already witnessed the first concept of the electrical laws: the Yin form, known as annihilating lightning. Now, this is the second concept of those laws, the Yang lightning of life."
They explained calmly. In an already established universe, in nature, lightning was essentially pure Yang, with only a slight concentration of Yin. However, in divine-level places or areas with high concentrations of power, all natural laws can undergo changes. The properties of the laws don’t necessarily beco stronger or weaker, just different. As for the ’concepts,’ they were a naming system used by cultivators, developed to make it easier to study these variations.
"Life and annihilation..." Ruri muttered confusedly. Then, the whale explained gently.
The law of lightning was not only the power of destruction but also the power of creation.
During ancient tis, when the universe was still young, and the skies and mountains were forming, giving rise to the first planets, there was no life in the world. There were only the most primordial laws: water, fire, wind, earth, and infinite amounts of lightning.
In this lifeless environnt, Yin and Yang slowly rge under the influence of Heaven’s Will; then, a lightning bolt of creation strikes the ocean, causing changes in the composition of the laws and giving rise to the most primitive forms of life. These laws are the manifestation of the Heavens’ Will, up to the present day. And the existence of lightning and life is intimately linked.
"The basic elents may seem simple, but they have various levels of understanding and different manifestations, each with its own peculiarities. In the divine realm, a cultivator’s understanding is defined by the type of elent manifestation they have achieved," the whale spoke, taking steps forward.
"It shouldn’t be possible for the laws of lightning to reach this level on an ascending planet like we are; but soone, knowing the divine origin of the core of this place, loosened the seal of the rune and left this spear to be slowly refined by lightning."
Alm and Bruno completed their words as they stopped very close to the spear. All the extrely high-level lightning bolts continued to fall, focused on the spear, without hitting them. Many different techniques were used, both to release the seal and to concentrate the laws in one place.
’This is the most common thod of creating a weapon spirit. But with the low density of Qi coming from this ascending planet, it should still be extrely unlikely for it to be created,’ Bruno thought, looking at the spear.
’The bones of this spear are not ordinary. Maybe it has so connection to that demon with a very particular blood from the prison. With thousands of years being bathed by lightning, the miracle happened.’ Alm analyzed coldly, and soon after, he beca excited. ’Great, we got an excellent gift.’
Bruno considered removing this spear, and a sinister feeling attacked them. A deadly danger was involved. He spoke seriously. ’With Ruri, we can seal the divine rune again without problems. ’The spear can explode for all I care; the greatest treasure is this newly-born spirit. From its lightly fluctuating soul, it must be only a few years old. As they approached the core, the tallic sound of the katana leaving its sheath echoed. Ruri pointed the katana downward and closed her eyes, releasing the runic sharpening seal.
Alm focused entirely on her, and their bound hands beca an unbreakable connection between them. Soon, ntal and spiritual power rged, a minimal amount of life force from both was drawn, intertwining in a subtle but eternal union.
Ruri opened her eyes, and her katana glead. The dragon glass on the blade trembled, and an indescribable cutting aura covered the entire space.
Bruno sensed the mont and used Ruri’s ntal power through the array in sync. In two seconds, the grayish sphere was enveloped in violet energy. Instantly, all the lightning vanished, and the sphere dissipated as if it had been swallowed by emptiness.
"Eternal Bond!"
Ruri shouted, and a sharp, terrifying aura erupted from her katana. With a precise movent, she sliced through the air, falling from the skies like a razor-sharp blade.
SLASH!
It was a clean strike without any flashy effects, but it was as if space itself had been silently split. The earth below opened with a simple and infinitely deep line. The spear broke in two without any defense, as if that strike could cleave even the heavens.
Alm and Bruno imdiately retrieved the core of the immortal weapon, using their souls to draw in that spirit. The spirit seed not to feel or comprehend what was happening; there was no defense from it, and its consciousness was rudintary. In an instant, it was incorporated into a new body with their power.
They sighed in relief, but soon ca face to face with Ruri’s radiant smile. An unexpected feeling of joy for her happiness rose within them, leaving them strangely moved... What had happened to that cold villain they once were? Then, she jumped onto their backs and passed out, drained of energy. It was at that mont that the bone spear vibrated, turning into dust.
Far away, all the half-demons and half-wyverns were silent and apprehensive, awaiting the whale. Suddenly, they felt their demonic bloodlines freeze. At the sa ti, all the demons within the realm of lightning petrified, sensing the sa phenonon.
Back at the center, Alm and Bruno looked astonished ahead. The entire spear turned to dust, and its spiritual mark should have erged... but that was no ordinary mark... and its owner was anything but ordinary.
It was a black silhouette of five ters that seed to unfurl its wings, blotting out the world; its two red eyes focused on the whale, making all the laws and color of the world imdiately disappear. Alm and Bruno had already read about it in the Soul Eater clan records and were certain.
"Fuck... it’s that so-called Demon Emperor all the clans always talk about!"
