The entire settlement fell into silence seeing the body of the branch leader impaled by yohan’s frightening sword which was radiating frightening aura. The barrier that was protecting that place no longer existed; it crumbled the moment that frightening object made its way inside before piercing the heart of the leader of this branch family. Every single soul that resided inside this place was horrified seeing the lifeless body of that old man.
Now that their leader was gone, all of them feared for their lives. Earlier, all of them had some hope that they might survive under the protection of the barrier, but it was pointless; the barrier couldn’t even withstand a mere second, crumbling with a single attack.
"He is a monster..." one of the men present there muttered, looking toward the sky in the direction of Yohan. Now he understood they shouldn’t have offended this monster in the first place.
Not only had he killed their branch leader, but he also massacred the cultivators who were there to protect this place; all of them fell by his hands.
One after another, every single figure who was present there fell to their knees. Their fates were sealed because of the one person who decided to betray the main clan. It was a long-standing feud that had finally e to an end; with no hope of leaving this place alive, those people could only look in the direction of Yohan.
"Don’t worry, I will look after your women and those children..." a voice echoed in the surroundings, catching everyone’s attention; the source of that voice was Yohan.
Hearing Yohan’s calm voice, everyone felt solace in their hearts. All of them felt somewhat relieved, knowing that at least their families would be safe and they would not be judged by the crimes of the leader of the branch family.
At the same time, Elaine was watching everything from far away. Her facial expressions were different; she had seen something that put her on edge. Killing mortals was one thing, but massacring thousands of cultivators in mere seconds was something else; not only had Yohan killed those cultivators, but he had also destroyed that barrier with ease.
’Now I understand why everyone is so obsessed with this kid. Those higher-ups know he is an anomaly that could destroy the very structure of this world...’ Elaine thought while her gaze remained fixed on Yohan’s face.
Meanwhile, Yohan ignored Elaine’s intense gaze that was directed toward him; he was not concerned about what she was thinking at this moment. Yohan was only interested in achieving the emergency quest that he received from the system; if he dominated the seven branch families and achieved his goal, he would receive a magnificent reward and he would also achieve the next major realm under the system’s guidance.
Previously, he didn’t want to kill the soldiers of the Lin clan that were serving the branch families, but knowing they were standing before him and there was no loyalty within their eyes, he changed his mind; he didn’t need those who dared to defy him. For that reason, he intended to destroy everything within these walls.
Yohan simply waved his hand, and the next moment, the Asura moved in his direction before entering his body. The lifeless body of the old man fell to the ground with a thud. The next moment, a small ball of dark energy manifested in Yohan’s palm. The surrounding space started to twist and tremble; fear crept into the hearts of those people who were present there. The end was finally here.
The small energy orb left Yohan’s palm and moved with lightning-fast speed before colliding with the ground, instantly incinerating everything within the settlement. Every single soul present there was erased within a mere moment. A large explosion took place, destroying everything. Yohan remained standing in the sky unfazed, watching everything without showing any emotion; he had killed hundreds of thousands of people in just mere seconds, and yet he didn’t feel anything.
Elaine’s eyes widened seeing the frightening sight before her. Cold sweat appeared on her face witnessing that kind of annihilation, yet the bringer of such chaos remained expressionless and unbothered. Yohan simply tilted his head and looked in the direction of Elaine. Their gazes met; Elaine felt the uneasiness within her heart getting suppressed by Yohan’s mere gaze. For the first time, she felt this weird feeling that she couldn’t explain, but nevertheless, she maintained her posure.
A moment later, Yohan appeared right before her.
"Are you alright?" he asked her with a concerned gaze. Elaine was dumbfounded hearing Yohan and seeing that innocent look on his handsome face, but nevertheless, she nodded her head with a smile, trying to play it cool before him.
"I am good... are you satisfied killing all those people who were conspiring against your family?" she asked, maintaining that forced smile on her face. Yohan simply smiled hearing those words from Elaine’s mouth; he knew this woman was gentle and must be taken aback seeing all that massacre before her eyes. Yohan somewhat understood Elaine’s character; despite being one of the powerhouses of this world, she was gentle. She might not show it on her face, but deep within her heart, she might be shaken.
"Satisfied, you say..." Yohan whispered as he took a long sigh, thinking about his grandpa’s and his father’s safety; he was worried about them. The system had already scanned the surroundings and notified him that they were not here.
"I am not going to be satisfied until I find my father’s and grandfather’s whereabouts. They are my family!" Yohan responded to Elaine with a straight face. Seeing that look on Yohan’s face, Elaine turned silent; she had already seen his different personality when he was around his women and his mother. He was a pletely different person around them—a loving man and a caring child.
Elaine inwardly gulped, thinking about the worst possible scenario, wondering what if those people had made a mistake that they shouldn’t have in the first place; what if they killed those people that he cherished in this world, especially that person, Su Wan Lin, his grandpa that he deeply cared for.
