The moment Nesha was sent forward by the impact, Boris moved.

His hand shot out like lightning and wrapped tightly around the Grand Elder’s throat. The overwhelming grip immediately cut off any chance of escape.

Nesha’s eyes widened. Only now did he finally understand. This had never been an attack on the city. It had been a trap from the very beginning.

And he had walked straight into it.

"It was a trap...!!!" Nesha gritted his teeth as the realisation finally struck him.

Blood slowly trickled from the corner of his mouth while he glared at Boris and Malakor Harrington with a mixture of hatred, shock, and disbelief. Even now, he found it difficult to accept what was happening. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined that the Anti-Emperor Faction would launch such a large-scale attack against the Night Rider Sect.

What confused him even more was the reason behind it.

The two sides were certainly not allies. There had been tensions between them, and both sides viewed the other with caution. However, the Night Rider Sect was not part of the Celestial Dragon Empire.

They were an independent cultivation sect with their own territory, their own power structure, and their own interests. No matter how much he thought about it, Nesha could not understand why the Harrington Family had gone to such extreme lengths to target them.

Seeing the realisation appear on his face, Boris and Malakor exchanged amused glances. A faint smirk appeared on both of their faces.

"You guessed correctly," Boris said calmly. "But unfortunately, you realised it too late."

The moment those words left his mouth, Boris moved.

His palm shot forward with terrifying speed and struck Nesha directly in the chest. The attack landed slightly above the heart, carrying enough power to make even a 7th-order powerhouse fear for his life.

Booooooooom!!!!!

The impact shook Nesha’s entire body. His eyes widened instantly as a terrifying force exploded inside his chest. It felt as if every bone, muscle, and organ in his body had been struck at the same time.

Then came the pain.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...!!!"

A horrifying scream escaped his mouth and echoed throughout the city. However, the physical pain was not what terrified him the most.

What truly horrified him was what he felt happening inside his body. His cultivation base was breaking apart.

The foundation that had supported thousands of years of cultivation began collapsing under Boris’ attack. Cracks rapidly spread through the very core of his cultivation. His energy pathways shattered one after another, while the vast reservoir of mana and power he had spent millennia accumulating began leaking away uncontrollably.

For a cultivator, there was worse than death.

Thousands of years of hard work!

Thousands of years of cultivation!

Countless battles!

Countless life-and-death experiences!

Countless opportunities and treasures!

Everything he had built throughout his long life was being destroyed within seconds. The pain became so overwhelming that Nesha could no longer think clearly. His vision began to blur. The world around him started spinning.

The voices of Boris and Malakor became distant and distorted. His body trembled violently as the last remnants of his cultivation collapsed.

Then everything went dark. Unable to endure the pain any longer, Nesha lost consciousness and fainted on the spot.

"We should catch those two Elders before they escape," Boris said while tightening his grip around Nesha’s throat.

Although the ambush had been successful, neither of them could be certain about the condition of the other two Elders. The attacks they had launched earlier were powerful enough to seriously injure them, but 7th-order cultivators were notoriously difficult to kill. There was always a possibility that they had used the brief distraction caused by Nesha’s defeat to flee the city.

"I highly doubt they are in any condition to run," Malakor replied.

He was confident in the strength of the attacks that had struck the two Elders. Those attacks had not been ordinary blows. They had been carefully planned ambushes launched against opponents who had pletely lowered their guard. In Malakor’s opinion, the two Elders should be in an extremely miserable state right now, if not on the verge of death.

"Yeah."

Without wasting any more time, Boris continued holding the unconscious Nesha by the throat. Then, Boris, Malakor, and Ramos disappeared from their location and moved toward where the two injured Elders had crashed.

A moment later, the three of them arrived. The sight that greeted them was even worse than they had expected.

Both Elders were lying in the middle of massive craters formed by the impact. Large cracks spread across the walls behind them, while broken stones and debris covered the surrounding area. Blood stained their robes, and several parts of their bodies were twisted at unnatural angles.

The earlier attacks had shattered many of the bones throughout their bodies. At this moment, neither of them could even stand up.

Every attempt to move sent waves of pain through their bodies. Their vision had bee blurry due to both their injuries and the overwhelming pain they were enduring. One of them was barely conscious, while the other struggled just to keep his eyes open.

pared to their usual dignified appearance as Elders of the Night Rider Sect, the two men now looked pletely broken and helpless.

"I told you they are not going anywhere." Just like Boris, Harrington descended before them and struck them really hard in their chest. Once again, two powerful screams were heard.

And just like that, three elders of the Night Rider Sect lost their cultivation.

Scene Change______

"The food is so delicious today."

"Exactly. I feel like I could keep eating forever."

Almost an hour before the chaos began, everything seemed pletely normal throughout the Night Rider Sect. Just like every other morning, countless students from the Outer Court, Inner Court, and Core Court headed toward their respective cafeterias to eat breakfast before starting their daily activities.

Long lines had already formed by the time many students arrived.

One after another, students stepped forward to receive their meals from the chefs and kitchen staff. The food served by the sect was always nutritious and specially prepared to support cultivation. Large amounts of meat, vegetables, grains, and other energy-rich ingredients were included in every meal to help students maintain their strength and continue training.

There was no limit on how much food a student could eat.

As long as there was food available, they were free to return for additional servings. However, because of the large number of students eating at the same time, everyone was expected to move quickly and avoid slowing down the lines. The cafeterias of all three courts were packed with students talking, laughing, and enjoying their meals.

What many people noticed that morning was that the food seemed especially delicious.

Students who normally finished one plate found themselves returning for a second or even a third serving. Many openly praised the chefs while enjoying their meals, pletely unaware that anything was wrong.

Of course, nobody found this suspicious. After all, today was the day of the Grand Ceremony.

Important guests from all over the region were arriving at the Night Rider Sect. The entire sect had been preparing for this event for weeks. Because of that, most students naturally assumed that the kitchen had been given a larger budget and better ingredients to celebrate the occasion.

To them, the more lavish breakfast was simply another part of the festivities. Not a single person realised that the meal they were happily enjoying would soon bee the beginning of a nightmare.

Meanwhile, among the many staff members working in the kitchens and serving food to the students, there were several members of the Wind Dragon Clan. To everyone else, this did not seem unusual. With the Grand Ceremony taking place later that day, the kitchens were far busier than normal and needed additional manpower to handle the massive crowds.

The members of the Wind Dragon Clan had volunteered to help with the preparations. Some helped carry ingredients. Some assisted the chefs. Others stood alongside the kitchen staff and helped serve food to the thousands of students who had lined up for breakfast across the Outer Court, Inner Court, and Core Court.

Everything appeared pletely normal.

The students continued eating and chatting with each other without the slightest suspicion. The kitchen staff remained focused on their work, while the Wind Dragon Clan members quietly performed their assigned tasks. No one paid special attention to them.

What nobody realised was that several members of the Wind Dragon Clan had secretly poisoned the food.

The poison had been carefully selected beforehand. It was powerful enough to affect even Peak 6th-order cultivators.

The poison remained hidden inside the body for a period of time. Because of this, none of the students noticed anything unusual while eating. They enjoyed their meals exactly as they normally would. Some even returned for additional servings, unknowingly consuming even more of the poison.

According to the plan, the poison would begin taking effect roughly thirty minutes later.

By then, the students would have already returned to their training grounds, dormitories, classrooms, and various parts of the sect. Once the poison is activated, that would be the beginning of a true nightmare for the Night Rider Sect and especially for Victor.
