Morning,
In the living hall, Luke, Aina, Rikuya, and Sand stared at the TV, the news reporter detailing the events of the last night.
Things had taken quite a drastic turn away from the truth, it seed.
There was no ntion of the basent under the Jaku General Hospital.
Instead, there was a giant tunnel running through and through the hospital, as if soone had barged into the building from one side and out from the other.
In short, the Jaku General Hospital beca just another collateral damage, not the starting point.
Luke instantly realized that Dr. Kyudai must have sealed up the destruction leading to the basent to keep the lab secret.
For the Villain, Luke might as well be a thief who didn't know where he had barged in.
Also, the lab in the basent of the hospital was just too grand and important to be discarded overnight.
In light of this, shaping the hospital as another damaged building by the heinous Villains was the best idea to not only divert suspicions but also garner sympathies.
However, that wasn't all.
The dia was actively relating the two Villains' appearances to the tal Puppets incident.
Both Villains looked like mutated creatures with their brains exposed as the news channels kept slapping their videos on the screen.
Then, they showed the pictures of the ta Puppets, not as grueso, but equally sickening.
So, in a twisted series of unfounded conclusions, the orchestrator of the ta Puppets Incident was also seen as the Villain behind the Jaku Incident, causing chaos and hurting innocents using his brutal puppets.
Luke almost facepald, shaking his head.
The only thing that went his way in this was that there was no ntion of Dr. Blessed.
All Might must have realized that I am not behind the Villains who attacked Jaku City, Luke thought, drinking milk. But he must have shared the details about the dog and my appearance with the authorities. I need to be more careful… especially with Nyx…
Luke had been going on night hunts with Sand, the part-ti governnt-hired killer, gaining experience.
However, because of his distrust toward all those who had Quirk, especially after his regression, he never really used Bioalchemy to its fullest potential.
One could even say that it was only yesterday that Luke had gone all out.
For soone like Luke, who had spent a decade holed up at one place, last night was the true eye-opener, making him realize just how many things could have gone wrong.
"Luke!" Sand put a hand on Luke's shoulder, jolting him out of his thoughts. "You alright?"
Luke realized he had been holding an empty glass of milk for so ti. He put it down ruefully and smiled. "… Was just caught up in All Might's appearance… Can't believe he's teaching at UA, yeah?
"I wonder how he reached Jaku City, though… Villains couldn't have arrived there hours ago. It's like All Might knew sothing like this would happen, no?"
Aina gaped at Luke in sheer fascination.
Rikuya, who had been doom-scrolling about the Jaku Incident, suddenly paused, his eyes narrowing.
anwhile, Sand inwardly nodded.
He knew how sharp Luke was. For the boy to conclude this much based on the available data was nothing new for him.
Also, Sand always remained in the vicinity of the Mansion. He hadn't seen any activity from Luke's room.
The boy hadn't developed his Quirk for him to create those giant, black-skinned monsters, Sand knew.
Moreover, Luke still looked sharp and devoid of any fatigue.
Without a high-level healing Quirk that was readily available at Blue Site, that would have been impossible.
Seeing Sand's shoulders relaxing, Luke sighed in relief as well.
Sand didn't know that after a decade of cleaning himself under the healing Quirks, Luke hadn't just acquired an OCD, but now he could also fake so emotions.
Emotions like extre fatigue.
Last night, when he and Nyx had returned, they had both passed out instantly.
It was only in the morning that Luke found the ti to grant Nyx a healing Quirk to be used upon him.
The only issue was that Nyx couldn't use her Quirk on herself.
So, after healing Luke, she had again passed out.
Also, even though Luke seed all healed up, there was sothing wrong with his Stamina, forcing even Miss Justice to change the way she displayed Stats.
…
[
Blessed Stats:
Quirk — Bioalchemy
Stats:
— Spirit: 310
— Stamina: 105/170
]
…
Luke had known that healing needed one's stamina.
Before, this consumption of stamina had gone unnoticed because Luke didn't have much of it.
Now that he had gained even more stamina after digesting Marauder's Potion, the subsequent events of pushing himself beyond his limits, and Nyx's healing him later, had taken root in his Stats, it seed.
He was regaining his Stamina, but it was barely a point per hour.
Luke had a feeling that if he kept repeating last night's events, then he might lose a chunk of Stamina permanently.
Now that thought was unnerving him the most.
"Co on," Sand said, looking at them all. "I will go with you to UA today."
Luke cleaned himself up and said, "Please go ahead. Nyx is still sleeping. I will co a few minutes later."
"… Tch!" Rikuya gave Luke a disgusted look before marching away.
Aina and Sand's lips twitched, both nodding understandably.
They all knew how weird he was when it ca to Nyx, so this was the most normal excuse he could have used to not go with them.
"Don't be late!" Aina shouted from behind.
Sand took another asured look at Luke as he disappeared into his room and shook his head.
…
In his room, Luke stared at Nyx, who was still with her legs up, her wings stretched on both sides.
Then, from under the bed, he pulled out a box full of files labeled — No. 6!
To Luke's surprise, he had found no cams or other surveillance devices installed in his room when he had arrived here.
It had felt like his father's way of acknowledging that Luke was ready to step out into society, even though the old man hated doing so.
Luke took out one of the folders and read the title that said — Naruhata Vigilantes.
Luke's eyes narrowed.
He opened the folder and found many individual files labeled —
— The Crawler
— Pop*Step
— Knuckleduster
Without reading them, he took out another folder first that said — Queen Bee.
It contained the following files —
— Kuin Hachisuka
— Bee*Pop
— Queen Bee
Then there was another folder, bigger than the last two — Villain Factory.
— Trigger
— Instant Villains
— Next-level Villains
— Number 6
Luke noticed there were a few more files, but these three folders seed to be the core contents of the box, detailing individuals, it seed.
Taking a deep breath, Luke began going through each file one by one.
Luke couldn't believe it.
He was staring at the beginning of the earliest Nomus by the hands of Dr. Kyudai himself.
Then there were all the people related to the event in the last few years, along with Number 6, who had orchestrated it all under the orders of All For One.
It's not that far into the past, Luke observed. But… how is it related to ? Why was it the most valuable, as per my spirituality?
…
[This is it! This is what we need, Blessed!]
…
Huh? What is it, Miss Justice? Luke asked. Did I miss sothing?
…
[That… I can't tell. You haven't t certain… conditions.]
…
Luke's eyes narrowed and suddenly widened. Is this related to the surprise you ntioned before?
…
[… No. And, yes. You will know soon… when…]
…
After becoming an Apprentice… Luke finished the sentence, getting an unseen nod from Miss Justice.
Luke put the box away, waking up Nyx.
For him to take another step forward, he needed Momo's help, not sothing he could do by staying at ho.
Luke just hoped, this mystery around Miss Justice's surprise would be worth waiting for.
