Hidden Retreat.
Midway up a mountain, a spatial rift suddenly tore open.
Dan Heng and his group stepped out.
Ziji led the way with a cheerful smile, saying, "Brother-in-law, we’ve only been apart for less than half a month! But over ten thousand years have passed in the outside world!"
Dan Heng gave a light "mm" and nodded slightly.
Poseidon glanced at Dan Heng, heart skipping a beat.
He had always sensed it — back then, even though Dan Heng and Gu Yuena were fully aware of each other’s identities, they maintained a tacit understanding.
But now Dan Heng’s deanor... seed like he no longer intended to hide anything?
They were openly embracing their relationship as husband and wife...
Did that an Dan Heng was truly standing with the soul beasts now?
But then, Poseidon chuckled to himself.
What was he even nervous about?
Dan Heng had already exiled the entire God Realm!
What if soul beasts rose in power again in the future?
People like Huo Yuhao, who didn’t know the truth, were completely baffled.
Why had over ten thousand years passed outside, when only half a month had passed inside?
Puzzled, the group followed Ziji to the mountaintop.
There stood a modest courtyard. Ziji pushed open the gate.
"Sis! Brother-in-law is back!"
She shouted with joy.
As the door opened, a silver-haired woman in a long dress appeared before them.
Her beautiful face was bare of makeup, her features pure and stunning. Cool and serene like the moon, yet exuding an unmatched elegance.
A woman like this left Huo Yuhao and the others montarily dazed.
But in Gu Yuena’s eyes, there was only Dan Heng.
"Husband...!"
She smiled faintly, her face calm, but her steps swift as a gust of wind. In the blink of an eye, she was in front of Dan Heng.
Dan Heng was even faster. He handed baby Longlong to Poseidon, strode forward, and embraced Gu Yuena’s soft, fragrant body.
Though it had only been half a month, they had never been apart this long.
Both used great strength, as if wanting to lt into each other.
"Brother-in-law..."
"Teacher..."
Biji and Zhu Zhuqing ca out of the house too, happily calling out upon seeing Dan Heng.
Ziji bead proudly. "I was the one who brought Brother-in-law back!"
She then introduced Huo Yuhao and the others to everyone, purposely ignoring Poseidon.
Poseidon didn’t bother arguing with her.
Dan Heng and Gu Yuena finally parted — though not entirely.
Gu Yuena clung to Dan Heng’s arm, resting her cheek on his shoulder. "Since we have guests, Biji, why don’t you all make a al?"
"Okay, Sister..." Biji agreed with a smile.
In the courtyard, everyone gathered around.
Gu Yuena still wouldn’t leave Dan Heng’s side, sharing a single chair with him, half her body leaning against him.
Dan Heng wrapped his arm around her waist, quietly listening to the conversation.
"...The Holy Spirit Sect is getting more and more arrogant! They’ve actually beco the state religion of the Sun Moon Empire. Rumor has it they even want the empire to unify the entire Douluo Continent!" Tang Ya exclaid angrily.
"They’re dreaming! How many gods do they even have?" Ziji slamd the table in protest.
The table wobbled, nearly tipping over.
"Of course they’re not as strong as Teacher, that’s why they’re so arrogant..." Tang Ya quickly flattered Ziji.
She no longer dared hope Dan Heng would take her as a disciple.
Especially after eting Zhu Zhuqing — his actual disciple.
Ziji patted Tang Ya’s head and looked up proudly at Dan Heng. "Brother-in-law, my disciple might end up being even stronger than yours!"
Dan Heng didn’t even bother giving her a reaction.
But Zhu Zhuqing frowned and sized up Tang Ya.
"!!"
Tang Ya suddenly felt like a beast was staring at her. She stiffened and quickly said, "Sister Zhuqing is amazing, I—I wouldn’t dare compete..."
Ziji protested, "What’s the big deal? Don’t be a coward, just go for it!"
"You think everyone’s as brainless as you?" Poseidon sneered.
Ziji glared, ready to retort—
"Ziji, go help Biji in the kitchen," Gu Yuena said calmly.
"!!" Ziji instantly shrank down, keeping her head low, and obediently went to the kitchen.
Gu Yuena looked at Tang Ya warmly. "Tell more about the Holy Spirit Sect."
Tang Ya relaxed and began to explain.
"Although the Holy Spirit Sect was supposedly wiped out by the Spirit Hall a few years ago, there are rumors they went into hiding on purpose... Just to work from the shadows. In recent years, many talented individuals have disappeared — so say it’s their doing."
"Even Shrek Academy and the three great empires have had similar incidents."
"Maybe the only place untouched by the Holy Spirit Sect is the Fontaine Empire."
Tang Ya spoke with gravity.
Gu Yuena furrowed her brows, silent for a mont.
Suddenly, Poseidon cried out in alarm and stood up.
Everyone looked at him.
"Teacher, what’s wrong?" Huo Yuhao asked.
Poseidon smacked his forehead, exclaiming, "I just sensed it — the Sea God Tower opened its rift early! So people got out ahead of schedule!"
He had sheltered many who inherited divine legacies, but didn’t expect them to exit before the ti-acceleration inside the Douluo plane had ended.
Of course, even if they were out, with the God Realm exiled, they couldn’t beco gods.
"Useless!" Ziji jeered from afar.
Poseidon’s face turned green.
"Whatever, it shouldn’t be a big deal. They’re probably all out by now anyway."
He waved dismissively.
After dinner.
Dan Heng and Gu Yuena didn’t stay with the "guests." They returned to their room — there was much to talk about.
Even though they had only been apart for half a month...
For a couple with near-infinite lifespans, that was the blink of an eye.
But now, upon reuniting, it felt like an eternity had passed.
Hand in hand, they sat on the bed.
Words welled up in their hearts, but for a mont, neither could speak.
"Husband, I..."
Gu Yuena looked into Dan Heng’s eyes, biting her lip, a glimr of resolve in her gaze.
Dan Heng calmly returned her gaze. "What is it?"
Gu Yuena was quiet for a mont, then looked at him seriously. "I... I want to tell you about my past!"
Dan Heng nodded softly. "Go ahead... Then I’ll tell you mine too."
Now that the God Realm was no longer a threat—
He didn’t want to pretend anymore.
Gu Yuena began softly, "I’m not a mortal. I, Gu Yuena, am the Silver Dragon King. Not long after splitting from the Dragon God, I was hunted by the God Realm. In desperation, I encountered you. It was you who saved . Since then, I’ve never forgotten you..."
Dan Heng nodded. At the ti, he had accidentally entered the God Realm.
Saving Gu Yuena had simply been because he sensed she wasn’t evil — and as fellow dragons, they shared a resonance.
He hadn’t expected it to lead to such a bond.
Gu Yuena continued, "Later, I slept in the Star Dou Great Forest to recover. When I awoke, I had this strong feeling that you had also co to this world. So I asked Di Tian and the others to help search..."
"Thankfully, I found you. It must be fate. I told Di Tian and the others that I wanted your power, but I kept secret the impression you left on ..."
She brushed her silver hair aside. Even as husband and wife, recalling her "sches" still made her a little shy.
Dan Heng chuckled. Before they got married, he truly hadn’t noticed.
"Husband... Now that you know, you’re not allowed to tease about it — or tell anyone. Swallow it forever."
Gu Yuena’s face blushed as she looked at him seriously.
Dan Heng nodded, "Okay."
Gu Yuena let out a breath, lowering her head. "After I found you, I didn’t appear right away. I knew you weren’t human, and that the cause of the soul beasts might appeal to you. I was willing to be your aide. But... I didn’t want things to stay that simple. So I observed you from the shadows for three years..."
"For those three years, I watched your every move — your smiles, your mornings. I rembered everything clearly. So simple, yet it fascinated . And then... I wanted to marry you."
"Afraid I’d regret it, I arranged everything in a single day..."
Her voice grew quieter, her neck flushed red.
Dan Heng gently lifted her chin. "I’m lucky..."
Gu Yuena looked into his eyes, shyness lting into love. " too. Even now, I think that was my luckiest day..."
She pushed Dan Heng down onto the bed, like a little kitten, nuzzling his neck.
Dan Heng stiffened. "My dear, I haven’t told you my origin yet..."
Gu Yuena murmured as she "nibbled" his neck, "Then tell ..."
Dan Heng sighed helplessly. A test already?
"I’m not from this world — not just the Douluo plane, but this entire universe. I’m from the Chi-Ming Clan..."
In the courtyard, under starlight.
Biji and the others chatted. In the middle, a space was cleared.
Ziji encouraged Huo Yuhao and the others to challenge Zhu Zhuqing.
"Zhuqing, you can’t use soul power above the Grandmaster level! And no soul skills!"
"Otherwise, that’d just be bullying!"
Ziji shouted.
Tang Ya scratched her head. "Teacher, didn’t you say Zhuqing is only fifteen? Just a year older than . Isn’t that too harsh a restriction?"
Honestly, Tang Ya felt Ziji was being unfair!
Bei Bei and Huo Yuhao also looked embarrassed.
Three vs. one was already unfair. And now Zhuqing had to limit herself?
Ziji rolled her eyes. "You really think you’re all that? Zhuqing might be a kitten to , but she’s Brother-in-law’s disciple. You Shrek folks can’t compare."
Hearing that, the trio reluctantly agreed. They exchanged glances — planning not to go too hard on Zhuqing.
"Start...!" Poseidon announced.
Zhu Zhuqing vanished into a black blur and dashed into their midst.
Before they could react — three dull thuds.
Each one faceplanted, stunned.
They didn’t even struggle. Just instantly collapsed.
"..."
The trio looked embarrassed.
"What just happened? Where’s Zhuqing?"
"I—I didn’t see a thing. Just felt a breeze. Zhuqing, did you use soul skills?"
"The gap’s too big..."
They were speechless.
Turns out, they had seriously overestimated themselves.
Even with restrictions, they couldn’t even touch her.
"What did your teacher even teach you?" Ziji scolded harshly.
The trio blushed in sha, unable to respond.
"Forget it, for now just follow Zhuqing. Let her get you started, and then I’ll teach you the advanced stuff."
Zi Ji waved her hand dismissively, casually brushing Tang Ya off.
"You really are sothing..." Sea God Poseidon burst out laughing.
Bi Ji was also amused. Zi Ji was as shaless as ever—dumping her own disciples onto Zhu Zhuqing!
Zhu Zhuqing gave Zi Ji a deep, silent look.
The person she most wanted to teach a lesson to was Zi Ji. But at present, she wasn’t a match for her.
Just then, a sudden chill filled the air.
Tang Ya and the others quickly scrambled up from the ground, shivering.
Zi Ji glanced at Zhu Zhuqing and raised an eyebrow. "Co on, Zhuqing, are you that petty? Just a little upset already?"
"It’s not ," Zhu Zhuqing shook her head.
"Then it must be that useless Poseidon! What weird trick are you pulling now?!"
Zi Ji imdiately began pointing fingers.
Poseidon leapt up angrily. "You damn little dragon! That’s way out of line! What’s it got to do with ?!"
Suddenly, everyone froze. If it wasn’t any of them—where was this cold coming from?
They exchanged glances. A snowflake floated into view, drifting across their vision.
It landed on Huo Yuhao’s face, slicing his skin and leaving a thin line of blood.
"Shit!!!" Zi Ji cursed loudly.
The next mont, everyone looked up at the sky.
At so unknown point, a black-robed figure had appeared above them—and an overwhelming wave of blue cold air poured down from above, along with enormous, blade-like snowflakes!
An evil soul power suddenly erupted, raining down in a fierce assault!
"Boom boom boom...!!!"
Zi Ji and the others were montarily stunned. Who would dare to launch a surprise attack on them?
It could be said—this place had the strongest individuals in the entire Douluo Plane gathered together.
Poseidon quickly unfolded a blue shield and held it up.
"Clang! Clang! Clang...!!!"
In an instant, the ground was covered with a layer of frost.
Those blade-like snowflakes ca crashing down, shattering the ground. Brick walls and houses collapsed under the onslaught, clouds of dust rising into the air.
"Wait! That building belongs to Sister!"
Bi Ji shouted in alarm.
But even the main residence—just like the rest of the structures—was smashed to ruins!
The first and second strongest on the Douluo Plane couldn’t even protect their own house?
"Courting death!!!"
Zi Ji flew into a rage. She stomped her foot—and even the last intact patch of ground cracked and shot her into the air.
She charged straight at the black-robed figure.
The figure prepared to unleash a soul skill—but was imdiately engulfed by the black flas spewed out by Zi Ji...
