Chapter 394: Latifa! The First Princess of Maple Land! The Curse Transaction!
Ren also casually asked whose idea all of this was.
"Mine. Is there a problem?" Isuzu asked, blinking her large eyes in confusion.
Ren suddenly complained, "Which agency sent you as an undercover agent? Or how much do you hate this amusent park?"
"Huh?" Isuzu Sento looked bewildered, seemingly unaware of what he was saying.
"Um, I would never harm this amusent park. We are all working very hard," a weak voice countered just then.
A girl dressed like a princess walked over, supported by a large mascot. She had golden hair, blue eyes, and wore a white long dress with a silver headdress. She truly looked like a princess from a fairy tale. But her body seed very frail, and her eyes lacked color, as if she couldn’t see.
[Author’s Note: Her eyesight is normal in the ani version.]
"Hello, I am Latifa, the manager of Amagi Brilliant Park." The golden-haired girl’s voice also conveyed a sense of delicate fragility. Combined with her cute appearance, it could indeed evoke a desire to protect her. She was the First Princess of the Magic Kingdom, "Maple Land."
"May I ask what your opinions are on our amusent park?"
Ren was direct but also considerate. "It’s an amusent park that makes people not want to co a second ti." Normally, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to rate it as terrible.
"But we all worked hard!" Isuzu Sento retorted.
Ren glanced at her and spoke a very realistic truth. "Sotis effort doesn’t guarantee good results. For example, you’re completely working in the wrong direction."
"I..." These words made Isuzu huff and glare.
Not wanting to waste ti, Ren imdiately asked, "Where are you from?"
"Huh?" The question stunned the two.
"Let rephrase. Where is the Magic Kingdom?"
"!!!" Isuzu Ssento’s expression turned serious. She flipped her hand under her skirt and pulled out a blunderbuss decorated with ivory and gold. The dark muzzle pointed directly at Ren. "Who are you?"
"I hate it when people point guns at ." Ren rely glanced, and the gun flew out of her hand and into his. He examined it, then looked at her flustered, pale thighs. "It seems to co from under the skirt, but in reality, it’s pulled from the skin. A very interesting magic."
"Damn it!" Her weapon taken, Isuzu gritted her teeth and adopted a fighting stance.
"Sir, are you a special kind of human?" Latifa was not as agitated. She had already sensed that the two were not ordinary people.
Ren nodded. "You could say that."
"May I ask why you are inquiring about the Magic Kingdom?"
"Pure curiosity, and to confirm whether it poses a danger to the normal world," he spoke no falsehoods.
"A guardian of the ordinary world?" Latifa speculated.
Isuzu, however, was very wary. "We cannot easily trust him."
Ren gave her a sidelong glance and threw the gun back. Isuzu paused, then quickly caught it.
Then she heard him say, "Don’t worry. I’m not interested in this dilapidated, soon-to-be-closed park, nor am I interested in soone who’s about to die."
"!!!" Latifa asked in surprise, "Are you talking about ?"
"That’s right. You have a curse in your body. You rely on the power brought by visitors to survive, don’t you? However, given your situation, I believe you won’t last much longer."
"..." What he said was entirely accurate. Due to a "lack of Anima" curse, Latifa’s body was constantly weakening, and she had lost her eyesight. The only place she could barely survive was Amagi Brilliant Park, a place rich in magical energy.
A severe lack of Anima caused her body’s growth and mory to reset every year. And now, it was a matter of life and death. The park had very few visitors, and the energy was dwindling.
[Author’s Note: This is a modified setting for the crossover world.]
If this continued, the Anima would eventually be depleted. At that point, she wouldn’t even have the chance to reset.
"I’m sorry, Latifa. I ssed everything up..." Isuzu Sento pursed her lips. Many of the attractions had been planned by her, but unfortunately, none had any effect.
"It’s alright. Perhaps this is my destiny." Latifa had resigned herself to her fate. To live happily with her friends for a short ti was good enough.
"Perhaps I can help you with the curse," Ren, always eager to help, said, waiting for this mont of sadness.
"Eh?" Isuzu and Latifa both looked over.
"Do you really have a way?" Isuzu confird again.
"You can choose to believe it or not, but if you miss this opportunity, you won’t get another one," Ren shrugged. His words were clear; he wasn’t doing this for free.
