But for a slight mishap, he would have been directly arrested by the Protoss Empire, which was on the brink of warti.
"Did you know there was a tsunami at the ti?"
Lanci asked this of Tolyado in response.
Had it not been for a Dinsional Bishop provoking the Bishop of Destruction and causing a battle in the waters of the South Continent, which triggered a magic storm, he would not have encountered that shipwreck, nor would he and Hyperion have been rendered holess, embarking on a bumpy journey.
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry, there was a madwoman chasing across half of the South Continent, I couldn’t help it."
Tolyado said with a laugh, scratching the back of his head.
"..."
Abigail silently watched Tolyado and the man disguised as Landry chatter nonstop.
Tolyado seed casual and cheerful, but he was inherently cold-hearted towards most people, and there were not many who could be considered his friends and get along well with him.
Is Rocky McCarthy originally from the South Continent?
Then how did he manage to achieve such world-renowned feats in the Northern Continent?
Abigail was utterly perplexed.
But she was fairly certain that the person was not an enemy, even if he had been disguised as Landry. Since Tolyado highly valued him as a partner, she had nothing more to say.
"Xido, let tell you, we could have won that encounter battle on the Northern Border if you had been there, we were really close."
Lanci caught Tolyado and began to debrief the previous encounter.
At that ti, he had never considered that there was a hidden strength beside them.
"At that ti, I was severely injured by Ivanos and fled to the Northern Continent to seek refuge and heal, I wasn’t even sure I could reliably defeat a Seventh-order."
Tolyado knew what Lanci was thinking—if Tolyado had been there, perhaps they could have won against the lurking Asksan and Morotian at the Northern Border.
But the reality was, still recovering from his injuries, he was no match for Duke Morotian.
He could only hide from Duke Morotian, playing a ga of hide-and-seek.
"You were that seriously injured?"
Lanci exclaid.
Yet another Bishop Level Eighth-order damaged in battle.
Lanci understood all too well.
Sigrid, too, nearly died on the northern border of Protoss, ending up with only the strength of Fourth and Fifth Orders.
"Yes, that woman had no sense of pain, her suicidal, self-harming fighting style is nearly unbearable for anyone."
Initially, Tolyado thought provoking her a bit wouldn’t matter.
It was too late when he realized the gravity of the situation.
It was the first ti in his life he had encountered such a terrifying explosive person.
"Good thing you’re quite good at escaping."
Lanci expressed his relief.
If Tolyado had been a bit slower, he probably would have t the sa fate as Beelzebub from Floral City Pariel.
"And think about why, during the ti you went to the Northern Border, Morotian didn’t focus on you for so long. It was because I drew all his attention. He was so intent on capturing , I barely managed to escape from the Protoss Empire."
Tolyado ca over, putting his elbow on Lanci’s shoulder, adding,
"So that’s why..."
Lanci murmured to himself.
Reflecting on the eve of the final battle in Protoss, when it was still unclear who was friend or foe, even Xido was highly suspect.
"I knew it. The rainy night when Duke Morotian ca to visit my office and wanted to inquire about you."
Lanci looked at Tolyado, speaking.
From the outco, he believed he was right to trust Xido.
Only today, months later, did he finally understand the hidden cause and effect of the entire incident from Xido’s explanation.
"Hahaha, he still rembers , huh?"
Tolyado delightfully relished the mont, laughing heartily.
"..."
Lanci didn’t understand why Tolyado found this so amusing.
"Ah, enemies all across the North and South Continent, living these days is truly difficult."
Tolyado felt life wasn’t worth it, shaking his head and sighing.
"Why don’t you consider why you have so many enemies?!"
Abigail ran over, pulled a book from the shelf, and slamd it onto Xido’s head.
She thought back to the days she spent in the Cerryti Empire, living in fear every day, worried that Bishop of Destruction Ivanos would co to find her, wishing she could flay Tolyado.
"But, really, Morotian is very evil. If I pledged myself to the Goddess of Destiny and dealt with Morotian, it would definitely be a great good deed."
Xido earnestly confessed to Abigail.
As he spoke, he himself laughed.
"You wouldn’t think it’s fun to ss up soone as arrogant and conspiring as Morotian, would you?"
Lanci felt that Tolyado had no respect for the Goddess.
He was nothing like Hyperion, who wanted to earn rits.
He purely sensed Tolyado’s pleasure.
"No, I really hope one day to pledge myself to the Church of the Goddess of Destiny, long live the Goddess of Destiny! Have you heard that I donated to Ichrite Academy? When I surrender to the Church of the Goddess of Destiny one day, everyone will think it’s reasonable; they’ll realize I was initially bribing Great Priest Loren."
Tolyado solemnly told Lanci.
"..."
Lanci didn’t know what to say; he couldn’t tell if Tolyado was being serious,
"Let’s not talk about whether Loren agrees to your surrender, won’t the pope of the Rebirth Church deal with you?"
Sigrid had previously plotted to seize the papacy in private, but Tolyado was openly shouting slogans, almost begging the pope to kill him.
"We must surrender! Surrender is the only way out for the Cardinal Bishops! The Goddess of Destiny will welco into Heaven!"
Tolyado confidently declared, his fists clenched with a hint of a smile.
