In the fourth row of the attribute periodic table, nearing divine authority, as an attribute only less rare than divination, creatures suitable for possessing it are one in ten million.

"Initially, Headmaster Violet had her eyes set on Miss Abigail for the new professor at Saint Kray Monastery, but since she declined, Landry was the final choice," said Lanci.

Unlike Talia who is oblivious to worldly matters, he always tried to gather as much information as possible within the Cerryti Empire.

"After all, Abigail isn’t particularly interested in magical engineering, she’s solely focused on creating a magnificent opera. Apparently, her directed opera is now so sought-after in the empire’s opera house that tickets are hard to co by. It’s a pity I can’t go out and see what it’s all about," Isatia voiced, relating to the mismatch of interests and talents.

Talia: "..."

Caught between two geniuses, listening to them was distressing for her.

Well, as long as she accepted her mundane life, she could be the cheerful and sunny princess.

"Where can we find her?" Lanci felt it was necessary to et this empire’s magic engineer, and the sooner, the better.

Since she was willing to support the projects of Barton, it proved she could be a valuable ally and powerful force.

Her abilities as a spatial magic chanic alone were enough to trouble the Blood Clan.

It would be ideal to persuade her to join his magical engineering research plan.

With the support of Abigail, a prominent magic engineering scholar, it was more likely that the empire would appoint Landry as the project lead.

"I’ll go find Barton; Barton and Abigail are old acquaintances," said Isatia, as she opened the door of Silver White Palace, crisscrossed with spatial barrier curses.

Barton had quite strong connections within the empire.

Although Isatia did not inquire much into how Barton secured information and resources each ti, she trusted his capabilities and character. He would do his utmost in any request, as both were resisters bearing deep grudges against the Blood Clan.

Lanci and Talia, hearing Isatia’s reasoning, found it quite plausible.

The mafia boss and the empire’s talented magi-engineer were partners; the engineer provided technical support to the mafia, who in turn offered her obscure channels. Indeed, it was a mutual benefit.

chanical gears rumbled deeply, the thick anti-magic steel doors gradually opened, and all the chaos from underground surged in.

There, the silhouette of Barton, cloaked in a pitch-black coat, reappeared, rging half into the shadows.

Barton Hall’s expression was clearly one of surprise.

Naturally, he was waiting outside because he sensed the unusually intense battle fluctuations.

Turns out Landry was stronger than he had imagined, able to stand toe-to-toe with the boss and survive.

However, having heard no noise inside for a long while, one could guess that one party had been defeated and was being subdued and interrogated by the other.

Unexpectedly, the outco was that both parties opted for negotiations.

"Barton, he is our partner now, help him as much as possible," Isatia briefly explained.

She couldn’t step out of the spatial barrier’s door.

"I understand," Barton nodded in acknowledgnt.

He then shifted his gaze to the silver-haired, golden-eyed woman beside Lanci.

One went in, two ca out, he had never noticed such a strong individual accompanying Professor Landry before.

Barton was unsure if this counted as a lapse in his security work.

"Uh, Mr. Barton, this is my epic summon, and she has her own consciousness," Lanci pointed to Talia and said.

"Mm," Barton didn’t ask further.

So epic summons indeed possess intelligence, might wield different skills, and so even have agreeable personalities, treating magic cards like beloved siblings – there had been precedents.

An epic summon capable of contesting the boss was clearly extraordinary.

Asking too much could be awkward for the other party.

"..."

Ironically, Barton’s sparse questions made Lanci and Talia feel sowhat guilty.

With him acting uninford, Lanci and Talia found it hard to voluntarily explain further.

"Wait for my ssage."

Lanci waved goodbye to Isatia.

He would find a way to secure the cure for the Blood King’s Divine Fire for Isatia and bring her out swiftly.

"Please do."

She grinned, hands clasped behind her, full of anticipation as she bade farewell to Lanci.

Barton watched their goodbye, blinking in puzzlent.

How had this characteristically brutal boss of the Eighth-order Demon Tribe turned as sisterly as the girl next door?

What exactly was this play?
