Chapter 344: Corpse Armor
“Huh, Harvey, what’s that?”
At that mont, a white light flickered within the eastern clouds.
The light moved swiftly through the clouds,
Passing over Tarafa City and quickly disappearing to the west.
The two figures on the city wall stared in astonishnt.
What was that light within the clouds?
Sophia turned to Harvey.
Harvey shook his head gravely, eting her gaze.
“I think I sensed a powerful magical fluctuation pass overhead, but I’m not certain.”
The dark clouds were ford by black magic,
Which interfered with Harvey’s magical perception.
anwhile, in the thick of the dark clouds,
Li ng, bathed in a radiant holy glow, was flying at high speed.
The visibility in the clouds was terrible, with nothing in sight.
“This aura is so unpleasant!”
In just seven days, Li ng had traveled from the Saint Biron Continent to the Central Continent,
Crossing multiple nations and reaching the Undead Nation’s territory.
As soon as he entered the Undead Nation, he sensed an ominous presence emanating from sowhere in the west.
The sky, too, was suffused with a dense aura of death.
Closer and closer, the source of the ominous aura was just ahead.
anwhile, elsewhere—
In the Undead Nation, on the western side of the Canine Mountains, within the Black Soil Wasteland—
Seven massive black fortresses lood on the ground near the mountains.
These fortresses were like seven towering mountains standing firmly on the land.
Looking out at the surrounding black soil plains, it was a scene of ghostly chaos.
Countless undead creatures wandered across the terrain.
The green ghostly flas ford a sea of eerie green fire.
Suddenly, the undead on the ground seed to notice sothing.
They all turned to look at the sky.
In the dark clouds above, a light streaked by at high speed.
It ca from the east and swiftly moved westward.
“Holy Light?”
A furious roar echoed from within one of the black fortresses.
“It’s an enemy! Round Table Knights, drive them out!”
With that roar, the earth shook violently across the Black Soil Wasteland.
The seven black fortresses began to rise slowly with a deafening rumble, moving westward through the sky.
The undead on the ground instinctively followed in the sa direction.
Shortly after, on the Black Soil Wasteland—
“It should be around here.”
The ominous aura was nearby.
Flying through the clouds, Li ng suddenly turned and dove toward the ground.
The dark clouds lit up with brilliant flashes of light.
In the next instant, a radiant streak of white light burst out of the clouds.
Suspended in mid-air, Li ng hovered.
The glowing tendrils of light behind him swayed gently,
Emitting a soft, holy radiance.
“So this is the Bone Dragon King? Pretty grotesque.”
On the black-soiled ground below, Li ng saw his target.
It was a mountain—a mountain made of bones.
The mountain’s contours vaguely resembled a dragon.
Its enormous body lay sprawled across the ground.
From head to tail, it was over 500 ters long.
If it stood upright, it would tower over 200 ters.
An overwhelming aura of dread emanated from its form.
It seed to be asleep.
Near its chest, a massive rise and fall hinted at its breathing.
“Wake up, Bone Dragon King ‘Modemore’!”
Li ng roared like thunder,
Releasing a radiant and holy wave of light.
The wave expanded outward in a spherical explosion.
Wherever it passed, the dark clouds in the sky were purified,
Creating a clear, empty expanse.
For the first ti in untold years, dazzling sunlight bathed the land.
The undead creatures exposed to the sunlight turned to wisps of green smoke and vanished.
Skeletons crumbled into piles of broken bones.
When the wave of light swept over the Bone Dragon King,
The dragon seed to sense pain.
Its massive body stirred.
Under Li ng’s watchful gaze, the Bone Dragon King awoke from its slumber.
Its colossal form slowly rose like a towering mountain.
Once upright, it appeared even more imposing.
“This thing is practically a walking mountain of corpses!”
Li ng couldn’t help but ntally quip at the terrifying sight.
The Bone Dragon King’s body was covered in thick layers of corpses.
Skeletons, rotting corpses, and countless other undead creatures clung to its body,
Forming a writhing, grotesque armor of death.
Even Li ng felt a chill at the sight of those undead creatures squirming and wriggling.
“Roar!”
The Bone Dragon King noticed Li ng in the sky.
A deep dragon’s roar emanated from the corpse mountain.
Dark magic surged from the Bone Dragon King’s body.
The purified area of the sky was quickly shrouded in clouds again,
Plunging the land back into darkness.
Only Li ng, glowing like a small sun, continued to illuminate the land.
“Whoosh!”
The Bone Dragon King attacked, lashing out at Li ng with tentacles ford of corpses.
“Alright then, let’s go all out!” Li ng laughed maniacally,
Bursting forth with radiant holy light.
His figure blurred as he charged toward the Bone Dragon King.
The corpse tentacles lashed at him, but he deftly dodged,
Darting through the air like an arrow of light, crashing into the Bone Dragon King’s body.
From beneath his dark robes, his right fist struck the corpse armor with trendous force.
A surge of holy energy mixed with brutal combat aura erupted.
“Boom!”
A deafening explosion followed.
Layers of corpse armor were torn apart by the holy light and combat aura.
Bathed in the holy light, the corpses turned to green smoke and vanished.
A visible shockwave spread out, shaking the surrounding area.
The impact caused the Bone Dragon King’s massive form to stagger and crash to the ground.
“This thing’s tough!” Li ng muttered in astonishnt as he watched the Bone Dragon King struggle to rise.
His earlier strike had only torn through a few layers of the corpse armor,
Still leaving the dragon’s true form hidden.
Normally, corpses were fragile and shouldn’t have withstood his attack.
But the undead creatures clinging to the Bone Dragon King had astounding defensive capabilities.
One punch had rely dislodged a small portion of the armor.
“Could it be a parallel effect?”
Li ng speculated that the corpse armor was so ability of the Bone Dragon King,
Enhancing its defense by rging the undead creatures into its body.
The sum was far greater than its parts.
Low-level undead creatures had gained incredible resilience through this union.
When Li ng struck, he wasn’t hitting a single creature but an entire layered defense system.
He could also sense a magical barrier covering the corpse armor.
“Hmph, I’ll just rip apart your corpse armor layer by layer!”
With that, Li ng withdrew, distancing himself from the Bone Dragon King.
Radiant light surged from his body.
His form distorted and rapidly expanded,
Growing from a height of two ters to seven ters.
Li ng thrust out a palm toward the Bone Dragon King from afar.
A massive, radiant hand of holy energy—nearly fifty ters wide—descended upon the dragon.
The colossal hand struck the Bone Dragon King squarely.
Amidst the explosion of holy light, the corpse armor was torn apart layer by layer.
