“President Griffith, the oral solution is purchased.” Secretary Lee put down two boxes of oral solution, and William Griffith said indifferently, “Get back to work.”
He raised his head and looked at the oral solutions on the table, with a suspicious glint in his eyes. Frowning slightly, he lowered his head and continued to bury himself in the docunts.
Just before it was ti to leave work, William Griffith deliberately avoided the peak hours, picked up the two boxes of oral solutions, and was about to leave the company. Coincidentally, he ran into Lan as she ca to hand over her report after tidying it up. She hurriedly stopped and moved her gaze from his handso face to the items in his hand. She froze for a mont before she saw what it was clearly.
William Griffith looked calm and said in a deep voice, “Leave the file, and I’ll check it tomorrow.”
“Oh, no problem.” Lan agreed casually, but she was more interested in the item in his hand, “President Griffith, who are you giving this to?”
William Griffith glanced at her and uttered two words, “Friend.”
Lan stepped aside to let him pass, and he walked slowly past her. As soon as the door closed, she could no longer hold back her laughter and laughed out loud in the empty office.
My goodness, William Griffith really went and bought that thing!
Lan laughed all the way back to her departnt, tidied up her things, and prepared to leave work. When she opened the door, she found that a certain man had taken her place while she was gone. She didn’t want to deal with him, though; she took her coat from the cabinet, put it on, and left. However, she couldn’t help but chuckle when she thought of William Griffith. It was probably the most interesting thing that happened to her recently.
“What’s so funny?” Yannis Griffith had known Lan since they were young and considered themselves childhood adversaries. He was surprised when he found out she was working at the Griffith Company!
Seeing her laughing so happily, he couldn’t help but be curious and stared at her smiling face.
“Nothing.” Lan replied coldly, and picked up her bag to leave. “It’s just ti to get off work, goodbye.”
“Where are you going?”
“To have dinner at ho.”
“What a coincidence, I’m going ho too. Let’s go together?” Yannis Griffith got up quickly and caught up with her in a few strides.
Lan said quietly, “We each have our own cars, and it’s not on the way.”
“It doesn’t matter if it’s not on the way; we can have dinner together.” Yannis Griffith followed her into the elevator, “You just said you’re going ho for dinner, you don’t have plans tonight, do you? It’s lonely to eat alone; I’ll keep you company!”
“Young Master Yannis is so considerate of his subordinates.”
“Not bad, not bad, don’t be too touched.” He bragged shalessly, not knowing how to restrain himself.
Lan looked at him and smiled faintly, “No need.”
Yannis Griffith’s smile froze, and she said leisurely, “Who said eating at ho ans being alone?”
William Griffith drove to Cherish’s apartnt in Cherry Blossom Garden without calling her first. Elijah Butler was the only one in the apartnt. Butler was making coffee, and the air was filled with a rich coffee aroma. As soon as the door opened and he saw William Griffith, Butler paused for a mont and then went back into the kitchen, saying casually, “Cherish isn’t here; she went with a friend to have afternoon tea. Didn’t you call her?”
William Griffith changed into slippers and went to the living room sofa, putting his belongings down. He rembered what she had said at noon, that they had arranged to have dinner together, and asked suspiciously, “Didn’t she make plans with you?”
“Yes, she did make plans with . We had dinner together and visited a bookstore, but then she went with another friend to have afternoon tea. Cherish has more than just
as a friend; she’s always been very popular.” Elijah Butler kindly explained when he heard William’s question, but it still felt like he was deliberately provoking him.
William Griffith snorted, his unfurrowed brow furrowing even more closely.
Finally, the coffee was ready, and Elijah Butler turned off the heat, asking with a grin, “Would you like a cup of coffee to drink while you wait?”
William Griffith didn’t respond but took out his phone and dialed a number.
Speed dial number one, that was her number.
After the phone rang for a while, it was finally answered, and Cherish’s gentle female voice ca through, “William, have you finished work?”
Her voice sounded good, as if she was in a good mood. But who exactly did she see that made her so happy? William Griffith speculated quietly and said in a deep voice, “I’m at your house.”
“How can you be at my house? It’s only 4 o’clock, and you are off work so soon?”
“Where are you?” He didn’t answer but asked back instead.
“At a tea house.”
“With whom?” He clenched his phone, his teeth gritting slightly.
