Chapter 667: Chapter 618: Handso Anyway!_3
After he left, Yannis Griffith put on a radiant smile and raised his eyebrows, saying, “Now you are part of the Griffith family as well, what do you an by coming to the company to report?”
“Did I say I accepted the shares?” William Griffith looked back at him and calmly asked.
Stumped by his question, Yannis Griffith complained, “Co on, we are siblings after all, aren’t you too cruel? Fifty-fifty on shares and company ownership! You are older than , so the president’s position should be yours, and I’ll be the vice president.”
“With your ability, it’s a bit beneath you.” William remarked casually.
Anxious to leave the business in soone else’s hands, Yannis refused to let go of this opportunity, “No, it won’t be beneath ! Absolutely not!”
“I heard the French company is doing well.”
Yannis gritted his teeth secretly. Earlier, because he was held up in criminal detention, he couldn’t return to Hong Kong to take over Griffith temporarily. With the new year approaching, various international fashion exhibitions were held one after another, and the French company was already busy preparing for them. He was stuck here and could only entrust it to several trusted subordinates and control it from afar. Though there were no big problems with this arrangent, it wasn’t a long-term solution.
Besides, why should he be in charge of two companies while William enjoyed his day-to-day life?
Yannis Griffith looked at William with a smile in his eyes, saying earnestly, “Brother, if you want Grandpa to agree to your marriage with Cherish Turner, you need to make him happy, assured, and satisfied! Take it step by step. The first step is for you to co back to Griffith and take over the company, and then plan for the long run! I’ll stand by you, and I’ll help you handle Grandpa! I guarantee, within three months, Cherish Turner will be part of the Griffith Family!”
“Huh?” Doubting his words, William replied leisurely, “If your guarantee is effective after three months, I’ll co back.”
Yannis narrowed his eyes, grinding his teeth with hatred. He stopped trying to persuade him and, after so calm thought, suddenly ca up with an idea. Finishing his last bite of cake, he left the dining room and appeared in the kitchen after inquiring directions from a servant.
In the spacious kitchen, Granny Griffith told the chefs to take a break, intending to cook personally. She was chopping vegetables, and Cherish was washing them, both chatting while working.
Walking in quietly, Yannis patted Cherish on the shoulder, bent down, and whispered a few words into her ear.
Cherish’s cheeks flushed, and her eyes widened as she looked at him awkwardly.
“Yannis, are you hungry?” Granny Griffith turned around and saw Yannis, asking with a smile.
“Yes, a bit hungry.” Yannis answered casually, but with a triumphant smile, he urged, “Cherish, he’s looking for you.”
“Granny Griffith, I’ll be right back.” Cherish said softly, dried her hands, and hurried to the side hall.
Alone in the hall, William flicked through a magazine. As the sound of footsteps approached, he looked up and saw Cherish walking straight towards him with a pink apron tied around her. Her expression seed troubled by sothing, though. She stood in front of him, nervously tugging at her apron, and called out softly, “William.”
“What?” William responded in a deep voice.
Cherish hesitated for a long ti, unsure of what to say, “Well—”
William stared at her calmly and commanded, “Speak!”
“Um…” Cherish’s voice beca even softer, “Can you go back to work at Griffith?”
His sword-like eyebrows furrowed, he asked in a hard voice, “Why?”
“What do you an why?” Cherish frantically thought of a reason but couldn’t co up with one for the mont.
Looking at her flickering eyes and twitching apron, William thought she was both adorable and amusing. He held back a smile, wanting to tease her, “Why suddenly ask
to work at Griffith?”
“Because…” Cherish reluctantly spoke, coming up with a random reason to fend him off, gritting her teeth, “I like the way you look when you’re at work.”
“What do I look like when I’m at work?”
“Very handso.” Cherish racked her brain for a suitable adjective.
William was clearly unsatisfied with her answer and continued, “Why handso?”
Scenes flashed through Cherish’s mind, her mory leaping forward until it stopped on one mont. It was when she first got a job at Griffith, and the lift opened to reveal employees standing straight in the hall. A tall figure flashed past her, followed by a few assistants. It was just a side profile, fleeting, but her heart skipped a beat and wouldn’t calm down its pounding.
“White shirt, black suit, anyway, very handso.” Cherish didn’t know how to describe it, and her face grew even redder.
“I don’t need to go to work at the company, I can wear that for you every day.” William refused to give in.
Stubbornly, Cherish argued, “It’s not the sa!”
“You really want
to go?”
“Yes!”
“If I go, I won’t have as much ti to spend with you.”
“It’s okay, I can play chess with Grandpa Griffith, chat with Granny Griffith, and hang out with Roger too.” Cherish only wanted him to agree and didn’t notice William’s face darken.
“I’ll consider it.” He left her with four words.
Cherish looked up worriedly, noticing that his handso face was impassive. She couldn’t think of any other thods and bit her lip, suddenly reaching out to hold his shoulders. She lowered her head and kissed him. Her shyness, and her clumsy tongue that tentatively ventured and then retreated, took his breath away. Panting, she said, “Will you go to work, please?”
Her pink cheeks were so cute, and her pleading was so irresistible that William couldn’t refuse. His mind went blank, and he nodded involuntarily.
“William, you agreed? Great! I’ll go wash the vegetables; you be good and sit here!” Cherish bead and said in a hurry.
As William called out “Cherish,” she had already run back to the kitchen, leaving him frowning and annoyed.
