Chapter 658: Chapter 615: Marriage Matters_3

Cherish Turner had her head lowered the whole ti, listening to the conversation between the father and son without uttering a single word.

She had thought about this kind of eting before, asking herself what she would do in the face of such a situation. When it really ca down to it, she was just as helpless as she had been in her imaginings, wanting only to escape. Regardless of the truth, the fact remained that she had been divorced, sothing that could not be changed.

“I’m going back.” Cherish muttered and stood up.

However, William Griffith grabbed her wrist. He was sitting in the rattan chair, not standing up, “Drink so tea.”

“I don’t want to drink anymore.”

“Then have so cake.”

“I don’t want to eat either.”

That’s when William stood up, pressing his hands on her shoulders, forcing her to face him. His deep, penetrating gaze seed to reach into the depths of her soul as he solemnly spoke, “Leave everything to ; just rember that if I ever marry, my wife will only be Cherish Turner!”

Cherish shivered as if a current had passed through her heart.

Back then, he had also said similar words, with the difference of only one character between ‘only’ and ‘will be.’

Gently waving away his hand, Cherish’s voice was soft, “We should not et for a while.”

“What do you an?” William asked coldly.

“I just want to be alone and think for a while,” Cherish answered in a gloomy tone as she walked away.

William stood on the spot, watching her retreating figure. He did not chase after her. Suddenly, he fixed his gaze on her and shouted, “Cherish Turner! You have no confidence in !”

The cold male voice ca from behind her. Cherish’s body montarily stiffened, and then she quickened her pace.

The weather was clear, and the vast backyard eventually left him alone.

In the villa’s study room, Robert Griffith was practicing calligraphy with his brushes and ink.

The old lady thoughtfully made him a cup of ginseng tea and brought it over. She knew that whenever he was bothered, he would practice calligraphy to calm himself down. Not wanting to disturb him, she silently watched as he picked up the brush and wrote on the paper. One by one, the sheets of rice paper fluttered to the ground, piling up. Eventually, the old man put the brush down, took a sip of ginseng tea, and his anger seed to subside.

“Sir, I want to show you sothing,” the old lady said with a smile and walked out of the study. A short while later, she returned with a letter in her hand. As she walked to Robert’s side, she handed him the letter.

“What is this?” Robert asked.

“Sir, just read it,” the old lady softly told him. Robert took the letter and opened it. The handwriting on the paper was neat and clean, elegant and generous – obviously a girl’s hand. The contents of the letter squinted his eyes, “Who wrote this?”

“It was from Miss Turner. She sent it more than two years ago,” said the old lady, looking at the letter with emotion. “Sir, this is Lewis’s birth information. I discovered it just recently.”

The old lady handed Robert the birth information of the little fellow along with so notes by William.

In the section for the child’s mother, Cherish Turner’s na was displayed prominently, along with so brief introductions of her.

As it turned out, they had been together for a long ti. Cherish Turner was the child’s mother, having given birth to Lewis for William.

No wonder William insisted on being with Cherish. The person they had been looking for all this ti was right under their noses.

The old lady patted Robert’s hand tenderly, her eyes welling up with tears. “William has always been very sensible since he was a child. He never asked for anything. This is the first ti he wants sothing – to marry that girl. Miss Turner may not have a prominent family background, but she isn’t like the other wealthy young ladies. She makes

feel at ease. Sir, do you rember? William risked his life for that girl! Last ti, when you suddenly fell ill, it was Miss Turner who rushed you to the hospital. When William t with an accident, Miss Turner was the only one who stayed by his side…”

“So what? She’s been divorced!” Robert cut in, speaking impatiently.

“William doesn’t mind,” the old lady tried to persuade him.

Robert held the letter tightly and snorted coldly.

But after the old man had seen those things related to his great-grandson, his heart softened. How could such a significant matter be hidden for so long by William? Was that woman truly Lewis’s mother?

Robert’s eyes trembled as he thought of Lewis. The child had indeed suffered. Being with William for so many years, had to act as both father and mother. Although children from the Griffith Family never lacked anything, the absence of a mother’s love was still sothing missing. Now that his mother had finally appeared, it left him feeling sowhat lost.

“Invite the girl to dinner. I have so questions for her,” the old man finally sighed, no longer persisting.
