Chapter 657: Chapter 615: Marriage Matters_2

Cherish Turner didn’t know how much of a man’s physiological needs William Griffith had; she also didn’t know whether he had a girlfriend during the two years before her departure. Facing such a “desirous” man was sothing Cherish was unable to cope with. As they rode back to the city in silence, she wanted to ask a question that had been bothering her for a long ti but couldn’t bring herself to do it.

William noticed her unusual behavior but remained silent.

After half an hour of silence, he finally couldn’t help it and asked in a deep voice, “What’s wrong?”

“Well,” she began, dragging the word out before saying, “Nothing.”

The car continued, and they remained quiet.

William didn’t take her directly back to Cherry Blossom Garden but brought her directly to the Griffith family ho. The weather was nice on the weekend, and the entire family was gathered, along with the Wood family father and daughter, enjoying so sunshine, afternoon tea, and conversation in the backyard. William forcibly brought Cherish to the backyard, as everyone turned their heads to look as they entered.

“Mr. Griffith, Miss Turner,” Sophia Wood called out happily.

Ever since Cherish’s last short stay at the Griffith family ho, she hadn’t seen the Griffith parents. It was all so sudden, with William now bringing her there again.

William led her to everyone, holding her hand, and slowly introduced her, “This is Cherish Turner, my girlfriend.”

Everyone was taken aback, looking at William in surprise, as this was the first ti he had introduced a girlfriend so seriously.

Cherish seed more nervous than ever and whispered, “Hello, everyone.”

The old lady hadn’t reacted yet, awkwardly gestured for Cherish to sit, “Miss Turner, please have a seat and enjoy so cake.”

“Thank you, Madam Griffith.”

“Don’t be so formal. William, you sit down too.” The old lady hurried to pour tea and cut so cake for them.

Robert Griffith’s gaze swept over William and settled on Cherish, asking intently, “Weren’t you married?”

Who was married?

For a mont, everyone’s attention focused again on Cherish.

This was absolutely big news!

Yannis Griffith, who was originally drinking water, heard Robert’s words and suddenly choked, coughing violently, “Cough! Cough! Cough!” He quickly put down his teacup and wiped his mouth with a napkin, but his eyes were still fixed on Cherish, utterly incredulous. How was it possible? When did Cherish Turner get married?

Lincoln Wood had a thoughtful expression and didn’t say anything.

Instead, Sophia Wood looked just as shocked, asking incredulously, “Miss Turner, are you married to Mr. Second Griffith?”

Cherish couldn’t hide her embarrassnt, and with everyone’s eyes on her, she gritted her teeth and said, “No.”

Yannis suspected if they might have secretly registered for marriage, but Cherish’s denial left him confused. It was all too strange, and he blurted out, “Do you an you married soone else?”

For a mont, Cherish couldn’t face them, and she just wanted to leave. Lowering her head, she said, “I’m sorry, but I’d like to…”

“She’s divorced,” William simply said, silencing everyone once more. He quietly tightened his grip on her small hand, not letting her go.

My goodness, Cherish Turner was married and divorced?

The old lady poured a cup of tea and placed it in front of her, breaking the awkward silence, “Miss Turner, please have so tea.”

“Thank you,” Cherish said softly, her mind in turmoil.

Yannis was completely stunned. What on earth was going on?

Noticing the atmosphere was a bit strange, Sophia Wood took her father by the arm and laughed, “Dad, I suddenly rembered sothing I must tell you. Uncle Griffith, Auntie Griffith, please continue your chat.” Lincoln Wood didn’t intend to stay either, and got up, saying, “Well, we will take our leave.”

As Lincoln turned to leave, his gaze swept over Cherish, and he stole a glance at her.

“I have sothing to do too,” Yannis didn’t want to involve himself any further and wisely left.

When everyone had gone, Robert Griffith roared, “Why did you bring a woman who’s been married and divorced into our ho?”

“She’s my girlfriend,” William replied calmly and evenly.

“It would be best for you both to end this relationship!” Robert’s face turned green with anger, “I will never allow a divorced woman to marry into the Griffith family!”

Looking at Robert, William said firmly, “Marriage is a personal matter and has nothing to do with the Griffith family!”

“I will absolutely never agree to it!” Unable to do anything else, Robert stord off in a rage.

“Miss Turner, don’t be a stranger,” the old lady had no choice but to follow Robert, leaving them alone.
