Chapter 491: Chapter 492: Tomorrow Will Be Better

Cherish Turner smiled and continued to walk forward. As they walked past each other, her voice carried through the air, making William Griffith stop in his tracks. “You’ve already done the thing that hurts

most,” she said.

“Beep beep-” The sharp sound of her phone breaking through her troubled thoughts further entangled them.

William Griffith glanced at her retreating figure before taking out his phone to answer the call. On the other end, the butler urgently said, “Master, there’s trouble, Miss Hailey has had a car accident, her condition seems quite bad, she’s been taken to the hospital!”

Her figure was already hailing a cab and driving off. In a flash, it went past before his eyes and William Griffith hurriedly got into his car, issuing a firm command, “I’m on my way!”

The past seed as fleeting as passing clouds and the roaring wind, Cherish Turner lowered the car window.

The agreent in her hand was crumpled beyond recognition. Her trembling hand tore it into pieces as if it was shredding her heart. Slowly she extended her hand, the torn pieces of the docunt flew out the window with the wind, scattering in the air, thrown behind her.

She shut herself in her apartnt, not seeing anyone.

Her life was reduced to a puppet rely going through the motions, from the mont she opened her eyes to when she closed them.

“Thump, thump, thump–” Soone was knocking on the door. Cherish Turner curled up on the couch, unwilling to see who it was.

The phone rang again, but she didn’t pick it up.

Suddenly, a woman’s voice, full of curse words, exploded from outside the apartnt, “Cherish Turner! You’ve got so nerve, not answering your sister’s call! I can hear your phone ringing from out here, so stop pretending you’re not ho! Open the door! Who are you hiding from?”

That voice…

After shutting herself in for three long days, Elijah Butler suddenly ca back.

Elijah Butler cocked her head slightly, smiling at her, her countenance lively and enchanting. Her hair was in large waves, casually draped over her left shoulder, leaving her right side bare revealing smooth, beautiful skin. In a rose-coloured miniskirt and a hemline that barely reached her thighs, she exuded an irresistible sex appeal.

She smiled at Cherish Turner and said sweetly, “What’s wrong? Silly girl…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Cherish Turner imdiately hugged her. Her slender arms hooked around her neck, holding her tightly. Elijah Butler was breathless and exclaid, “I can’t bear it!”, while she protested, “Hey, hey, hey, even if you miss , you don’t have to be so desperate, do you? I can hardly breathe!”

Cherish Turner shook her head fiercely, but couldn’t get a word out.

Seeing her so quiet, Elijah Butler smoothed her back gently as if to soothe a wounded child, “Silly girl, I’m back. I’m so hungry. It has been a long ti since I had the food you cooked.”

The appearance of Elijah Butler was like a ray of sunshine, illuminating Cherish Turner’s life.

Elijah Butler also noticed sothing was off with Cherish Turner. She was so lancholic, sotis drifting off in a daze, secretly holding that necklace and looking at again and again. On it hung a simple ring, not a particularly expensive one, yet so fool treated it as a treasure.

Elijah Butler didn’t ask who gave it to her, it was obvious even without asking.

“Tell ! Did that heartbreaker William Griffith mistreat you? I’ll go confront him right away!” Elijah Butler couldn’t help but asked in fury, but Cherish Turner no longer wished to talk about it.

“It doesn’t matter anymore,” she said.

Watching Cherish Turner’s bitter face trying to put on a brave smile, Elijah Butler felt both pity and love for her. This Cherish, who had not changed since the day they t, always enduring silently, left Elijah Butler no choice but to hug her tighter and tell her the truth that had always motivated her – tomorrow will be better.

Always believe that tomorrow will be better, even if tomorrow is the end of the world.
