While fastening her necklace, Grace furrowed her brows and said, “Now what? I only brought one set!”
Cherish was also clueless and shook her head.
Grace hastily strode up to her, grabbed her hand, and dashed out of the room. Cherish asked in surprise as Grace swung the door open and blurted, “Let’s go see Hailey and see if she brought any extra gowns. If not, we’ll ask Yannis’ female friend. After all, we’re all won, so it doesn’t really matter.”
And just like that, Cherish was dragged by Grace towards Hailey’s room.
“Knock, knock—” Grace knocked on the door and called softly, “Hailey, are you in?”
The next second, the door opened.
The person who opened the door was Edward.
Edward was only dressed in a white shirt and Western pants. His buttons were not completely fastened, with two of them undone. Despite his relaxed facade, there was an evident firmness about him that still exuded a degree of suaveness. His tall figure stood in the doorway. Seeing them, he stepped aside, “Co in.”
“Thanks, Edward!” Grace greeted cheerfully as she entered the room with Cherish. As they passed by him, Cherish gave Edward a polite smile.
This man, compared to her brother Sam, gave off a mature vibe and… an air of wealth. Ah, wealth, it was sothing they did not have.
Hailey was in the dressing room, changing her clothes. She was in a powder blue floor-length dress that exuded elegance and tranquility. At such a young age, in such a beautiful dress, Hailey was utterly stunning that evening. Indeed, daughters from rich families held an inherited air of luxury.
The dress perfectly highlighted Hailey’s graceful figure. Her hair was twisted up high, reinforcing her dignity. Hearing a stir outside, she imdiately ca out of the dressing room, “Grace, Cherish, what’s going on?”
“You guys take your ti chatting.” Edward said softly and wisely departed.
Once he was gone, Grace pushed Cherish towards Hailey, “Hailey, do you have any extra gowns? Cherish forgot to bring hers!”
“I happened to bring a few extras.” Hailey turned and walked back into the dressing room, “Cherish, pick one out for yourself.”
“I really owe you one.” Cherish said, bashfully. Hailey hugged her gently, “No bother at all. It’s only a dress. Besides, you are my future sister-in-law!”
The term ‘sister-in-law’ gave Cherish a bitter-sweet feeling.
“Hailey, your gown is so beautiful, and most importantly, your figure is perfect. I didn’t expect that you, a college girl, would be so well-endowed! Absolutely stunning!” Grace marveled at Hailey’s powder-blue gown and then peered inside the wardrobe, excitedly exclaiming, “Hailey, all your gowns are so gorgeous. Cherish, you’re going to be stunning later!”
“Like it? My brother must have not scrimped on buying you these, don’t tell
you’re envious!” Hailey generously said, “If you like them, wear them. Most of these were given to
by my older brother while he was abroad. I couldn’t wear them before because I was a tomboy. So, so of these dresses have never been used, and so were worn only once. It shouldn’t bother you.”
“I won’t take your favorites, your brother is too busy taking care of . Although I’m not really into these kind of things, I prefer casual wear in daily life. It’s Cherish that needs to pick one out quickly. This ti when your older brother ca back, the two of you seed kind of strange. This is the perfect chance to stun him!”
Grace said this with a hand over her mouth, laughing.
Cherish tried on the clothes, keeping things unsaid in her heart. Indeed, the situation between her and William was… quite complicated.
