Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Did She See Wrong?

Daniel Peacock sotis still cos over. He seems to get along well with Cherish’s parents even though she never gives him a warm welco. As if he couldn’t see her dislike for him, he kept coming over. Inevitably, Cherish, unable to stand him, escapes to the ninth floor, hiding in William Griffith’s room.

William always finds ways that Cherish can accept to cheer her up, making her devoted to him, ti and ti again.

Soon, the new year is over, and the first thing after the holiday is naturally Cherish’s trip abroad. She briefly discussed it with her parents beforehand but didn’t go into details. Even when Cherish was about to leave, her parents were not prepared. The relationship with her parents had grown a bit strained due to Daniel Peacock. Cherish thought going away for a while might be a good idea.

“Japan is a lot colder than Haicheng. The coldest days haven’t passed yet, so be careful when you’re out there alone.”

Although Mother Turner was a bit upset with her daughter because of the Daniel Peacock incident, she was still reluctant to let Cherish go on such a long journey.

“Mom, don’t worry, I’ll be with my colleagues, and I’ll be back soon. It’s not like I’m leaving forever!”

“What nonsense are you talking about? Go and co back well. When you co back, I have sothing to tell you.” Mother Turner said while packing clothes for her daughter.

“Mom, if it’s about Daniel Peacock, you don’t have to say it. I don’t like to hear it. You know my temper. William will send

off tomorrow, so you don’t have to go to the airport.”

Cherish’s words made it clear that she had made her choice; she won’t rekindle her relationship with Daniel Peacock.

Mother Turner wanted to say more, but was ultimately stopped by Father Turner. Cherish was going abroad for studying; it’s best not to ntion things she doesn’t want to hear.

On the evening before her trip, Cherish plans to et up with Elijah Butler. She notified William in advance since she needed to say goodbye to her best friend properly and let Elijah manage her online store while she’s gone.

Inside the barbecue restaurant, as Cherish grilled the at and enjoyed her beer, Elijah could tell she had sothing on her mind, probably due to Daniel Peacock’s matter.

“This Daniel Peacock is really annoying. How can he still have the nerve to stick around? Ah, so he failed to enter a rich family and now turns to you as a backup option? Way too shaless! By the way, how did your family’s big boss react? He didn’t send soone to fight him, did he?”

Cherish was amused by Elijah’s words. William wasn’t that kind of crude man. He would just resort to covert, calculated moves—a cunning man indeed!

“Actually…William ntioned marriage to

before…” Cherish hesitated whether she should say it but ended up confiding in her best friend. She had been keeping it bottled up and could only tell it to Elijah.

“What? Did Cherish propose to you? What did you say?”

“What could I say? I just said it’s not that serious yet!” Cherish munched on the grilled at and casually responded.

“You idiot! A man like William actually proposed to you, and you didn’t even feel moved! Cherish, I knew you lacked common sense, but I never thought you’d be this clueless! You’re driving

crazy!”

Elijah could see that both of them had feelings for each other. Why go round in circles when they could just be together directly?

While Cherish was about to explain, she suddenly looked up and saw a figure passing by reflected on the glass. But when she looked again, the person had disappeared.

Was it just her imagination?

Why did she see a face identical to her own…
