C16 – The Irritable Ant Chased the Snake!

Lee Tian eyed the Great Green Snake with suspicion. “Why did you save ?” he inquired.

The snake flicked its tongue, as though clearing its throat, before straightening up with a grave deanor. “Brother, I wish to follow you,” it responded earnestly.

Lee Tian was taken aback. “What did you say?” He never imagined a Green Snake would actually want to be his sidekick!

With a solemn tone, the snake insisted, “Brother, my desire to follow you is genuine. Please, let

be your sidekick!”

“I’m nothing but a tiny ant,” Lee Tian said, bewildered. “Are you sure you’re not just looking to make a al out of ?” He brandished his Scythes, which clashed together with a chilling sound.

“No!” the Great Green Snake hastily protested, shaking its head. “Big Brother, my intentions are true—I really want to follow you!”

“Then give

one good reason,” demanded Lee Tian.

“Big Brother, rember the first ti we t? You were a re ant, and I, a Great Green Snake,” the snake began, waxing nostalgic before Lee Tian cut it off abruptly.

“Are you trying to recite poetry?” Lee Tian interrupted, annoyance creeping into his voice.

A realization dawned on him, and he asked, “You’re saying we’ve t before?”

The snake nodded, and a spark of recognition flared within Lee Tian.

He glanced at the snake’s vital spot and noticed a broken hand trapped beneath a scale—his own severed Scythe!

“Scram!”

Rage exploded within Lee Tian. He lunged with his Scythe at the Great Green Snake, bellowing, “You cost

my hand! I’ll slice you into eight pieces!”

Caught off guard by the ant’s sudden fury, the snake recoiled in shock and leapt from the treetop.

Lee Tian’s anger was uncontainable. He couldn’t let it get away. He too leapt from the treetop, in hot pursuit of the Great Green Snake.

As it fled, the snake pleaded, “Big brother, hear

out! Big brother, I realize my mistake!”

But Lee Tian was beyond reason. His only thought was to carve the Great Green Snake into eight pieces for his al.

Outmatched by Lee Tian, the snake desperately tried to evade its grim fate, racing towards the forest’s edge.

Lee Tian relentlessly pursued the Great Green Snake, yet it consistently widened the gap between them.

He marveled at the thought, “Despite lacking legs, the Great Green Snake’s speed is akin to a streak of green lightning.”

He had no clue where the snake was headed, but he was determined to catch it.

After a lengthy chase, the Great Green Snake made a beeline for a tree. With a swift coil of its body, it sprang up and perched on the tree in an instant.

Lee Tian lacked such agility.

He arrived at the base of the tree and gazed up at the trembling Great Green Snake. “Co down if you dare!” he yelled. “I’ll chop you into eight pieces!”

The Great Green Snake, terrified, stamred, “Big brother, please forget about slicing

up. You should know, this area is riddled with hunters’ traps, each one deadlier than the last. I’m intimately familiar with this terrain and know the exact location of every trap.”

“If you cut

up, you’ll be lost without my guidance and never make it out of here!”

Lee Tian gave a cold laugh and stared at the Great Green Snake. “Is that a threat?” he asked.

In a panic, the Great Green Snake flicked its tail, pleading, “No, big brother, I simply wish to accompany you!”

Lee Tian regarded the Great Green Snake with a peculiar look.

His rage had cooled sowhat, yet he pondered the cunning of the Great Green Snake, capable of devising a plan to draw him into a hunter’s trap zone.

Its cunning far exceeded the intelligence of most animals.

What’s more, it had the audacity to make threats.

The intelligence of this Great Green Snake was a clear sign of its extraordinary nature.
