Chapter 1029: 1028 Using ingenuity to win

In an instant, Harbaugh could detect sothing unusual, but from a spectator’s perspective, he imdiately realized that Reed had calculated one more step in this ga.

Four receivers and five offensive linen spread out imdiately after the snap command, covering the entire field like scattering flowers.

The receivers were at the forefront, and the offensive line each did their part.

The entire formation unfurled like a folding fan, red figures spread across the field.

Layer by layer, the pocket was being opened, completely exposing Mahos.

With the tactics of a fake run and real pass, and Li Wei playing the role of the sixth offensive lineman, the Defense Group’s attention instantly surged towards the quarterback.

If considering Hill and Hardman’s running routes towards deeper areas, the impression that the Kansas City Chiefs were preparing to challenge with a long pass ca rushing in.

Naturally, the linen’s focus entirely converged on Mahos, whether it’s to sack, disrupt the pass, or provide backup following the pass direction, they all needed to watch Mahos’ actions.

However, it was all an illusion—

like a mirage.

In fact, right at the mont Li Wei and Mahos crossed paths and executed the fake run and real pass action, the football had already transferred from Mahos to Li Wei’s hands, achieving a flawless trick of deception.

This was not a fake run and real pass; it was a run play, a genuine running offense.

Even from a spectator’s perspective, it wasn’t that clear; the Kansas City Chiefs’ confusing route movents completely overwheld, and those on the field could only see a piece of the puzzle, being caught in the Chiefs’ magical illusion before realizing it.

Things change in a flash!

Before the Baltimore Ravens Defense Group woke up from the illusion, Li Wei had already erged from the myriad gaps in the scattered offensive line.

The Defensive line’s attention wasn’t on Li Wei at all.

The linen were the sa, not realizing the football was with Li Wei.

There was only one exception, Ferguson.

Not because Ferguson saw through the Kansas City Chiefs’ tactics with keen eyes, but because Ferguson obediently stuck to Harbaugh’s instructions:

Keep an eye on Li Wei.

No matter what happens, never ignore Li Wei’s presence.

Ferguson was the first to notice Li Wei’s breakout figure, full of questions and unable to comprehend why Li Wei did this; but there was no ti to think, his body moved before his brain processed it.

A lateral step, this ti cutting inside, moving to his right.

At the sa ti, also inside were two inside linebackers, whether they noticed Li Wei’s actions or not, their presence ford a natural barrier.

That way, the Defense Group could achieve a nurical advantage.

Ferguson, having just experienced a frontal collision and a dip in confidence, started to recover sowhat.

Knees bent, waist hunched, arms spread wide like a hawk on a chick, Ferguson firmly locked onto Li Wei’s figure, then took a deep breath, ready to face the impact force.

Li Wei moved like lightning, already closing in as Ferguson prepared himself.

Here it cos!

This ti, Ferguson believed he was ntally ready, not to back down easily.

Whoa!

The red figure charged in overwhelming strength, Ferguson held his breath and tensed up, yet the expected impact did not occur.

Before his eyes, Ferguson watched as Li Wei made a slight stop, a clockwise turn right before the collision, almost brushing against his body and arm, spinning out to the right; while he remained frozen, standing there like a stiff puppet.

Last ti, a direct confrontation.

This ti, winning with skill.

Ferguson: ???

Guys!

Fellas!

Ferguson tried to wake up the two inside linebackers to his right, even if just standing there, they had to slow Li Wei’s steps.

One person’s gaze lingered aimlessly on Mahos, seeming to wonder, without the football on Mahos, who had it.

One person noticed Li Wei, Patrick Onwuasor, this 2016 undrafted rookie, had managed to secure his place in the professional league, indirectly proving his skill.

Onwuasor’s height, weight, and build were very similar to Li Wei, agile in movent, though his attention wasn’t on Li Wei, his peripheral vision caught the red in the sea of black, and reflexively shifted sideways to collide, attempting to complete the shutdown defense with Ferguson.

A push, a bump.

Onwuasor deliberately added his body weight onto Li Wei, even if there wasn’t ti to exert force, he could still use this thod to disrupt Li Wei’s balance.

Next to his right were other players, Harbaugh intended to rely on sheer numbers to swallow Li Wei.

On the sidelines, Harbaugh’s heart rose high, he could see Li Wei’s red being enveloped into a mass of black, on the verge of being subrged, smothered, consud; this ant Reed’s flawless plan was thwarted, but the Baltimore Ravens succeeded in defense through teamwork.

At this position, Li Wei still hadn’t reached four yards, the third gear conversion failed, Baltimore Ravens could start with a three-strike dismissal against Kansas City Chiefs—

A touchdown first, then strikeout the opponent, a perfect start.

Harbaugh couldn’t help but hold his breath.

Black was gathering, after the linebackers, the defensive line quickly noted the situation, reacting a notch faster than other players, turned and stepped, forming a circle.

Red, growing fainter, seed about to be completely consud, yet persistently surged through the black mist.

Spins, side moves, confrontations.

Flickering, dimming.

At that mont, red sank, black surged in, swallowing red in one gulp.

Harbaugh’s heart leapt into his throat, fists clenched, instinctively standing on tiptoe, eager to see through the chaotic mass.

A stirring, a commotion.

In less than a second, rumbling, a red helt first rolled out.

Inexplicably, it seized everyone’s gaze, the whole Arrowhead Stadium fell silent, even forgetting to breathe.

Then, a touch of red broke free from the black, crawling out from below, stumbling, barely keeping upright, with sweat-drenched short black hair flaring in the wind, revealing a handso face.

It was…

Twenty-three!

The entire Arrowhead Stadium gasped, before holding their breath, rising slowly from the seats, gazing intently at the field.

That figure nearly fell, like a newborn kitten, looking wretched, yet using the left hand to support on the ground, barely regained balance in the chaos, eyes burst with intense force, resolute and determined, before the black wave of players crashing in, managed to stand up unsteadily, with light steps walking above the clouds.

One step. Two steps.

Third gear and four-yard conversion complete, first down achieved!

Yet, this was still not the end.

Those eyes, so firm, so sharp, a fierce expression on the handso face, snuffing out the crowd’s breath in an instant.

Ti stood still.
