Gu Qimiao thought she was seeing things, so she stopped and turned her head, and Lu Jinxi also noticed her.

But as soon as he took a step towards her, she ran as if she had seen a ghost.

"Mr. Lu, what’s wrong?"

Lu Jinxi concealed the disappointnt in his eyes: "Nothing."

The next day, when she went to the gallery, she didn’t just stay in her studio knitting a scarf but wandered around the three floors of exhibition space. She now knew that the owner of the gallery was Fang Shaobei, which explained the presence of many international masters at the exhibition.

She was quite looking forward to the exhibition tomorrow.

At noon, she planned to invite Big Sister i to find a small restaurant near the school for lunch, but at that mont, she received a call from Shen Yanchen: "I’m at your gallery, co out for a mont."

"Gallery?!" Gu Qimiao obviously found it incredible, but she didn’t hesitate much and walked out with her bag.

Across the street, she saw his car parked there, the window rolled down, and he was looking at her.

She jogged over and asked, "What’s up, Brother Yan Chen?"

He pointed with his chin to the other side: "Get in the car."

"Where to?" She asked while already walking towards the car door.

"Let’s have lunch together."

Gu Qimiao was perplexed as she sat in the car, wondering why he suddenly wanted to have lunch with her today.

Though utterly confused, she was still quite happy inside.

It wasn’t until she arrived that she understood; he seed to be using her as a shield again.

Entering the private dining room of the restaurant, she saw an elderly lady sitting at the table—it was Shen Yanchen’s grandmother—and beside her was a woman whose face Gu Qimiao couldn’t completely see as she was sitting sideways.

But it seed she could guess; it was likely another blind date set up by his grandmother.

"Here?" Grandma smiled at Shen Yanchen as he walked in, but her face turned cold when she noticed Gu Qimiao following behind him, as if asking, "Why are you here?"

Gu Qimiao knew her current role would not be favored by the elderly lady, so she gave an awkward smile and politely greeted, "...Grandma."

"Miaomiao?! What are you doing here?"

The woman stood up and walked over, and Gu Qimiao was stunned.

It was Lu Qianwen!

Perhaps she shouldn’t have co...

But Shen Yanchen didn’t ntion any of this to her!

He looked rather composed as he walked to the table and pulled out a chair for Gu Qimiao.

The table was a six-seater rectangular one, with Grandma sitting at one end and Lu Qianwen at the other.

As Gu Qimiao was about to sit down, Lu Qianwen got up with a smile and pulled out the chair next to her: "Miaomiao, co sit with ."

Gu Qimiao felt awkward—every inch of her body spelled "awkward"—but she didn’t hesitate and walked over to sit beside Lu Qianwen.

Grandma looked puzzledly at Lu Qianwen: "Wenwen, you know each other?"

Lu Qianwen smiled boldly: "Yes, Miaomiao almost beca my sister-in-law."

Shen Yanchen glanced at Lu Qianwen, signaling her to stop talking nonsense, but she returned his look with a fearless smile. Gu Qimiao, at this mont, felt utterly bewildered and out of place, like an obnoxious third wheel.

Her emotions were complicated; the person she liked was on a date with another woman, and she could do nothing but try to reduce her presence.

"Wenwen, you have known our Yanchen for a long ti, haven’t you?" Grandma asked directly.

"Yes, from the first ti we t till now, it’s been six years."

Grandma was equally direct: "You’re 27 this year, right? Do you have a boyfriend?"
