The hospital room stayed quiet for a long while before Su Yan finally opened his eyes. He slowly turned his head and looked at her lying on the companion bed, wrapped in a blanket with only a small part of her face exposed.

The mories before he fell into a coma were still of her cold eyes and avoidance. It seed like they hadn’t spoken to each other in a long ti, and every ti she saw him, she would evade him.

He was really surprised to see her when he woke up, even more so because she stayed despite him telling her to leave.

Was it because she couldn’t bear to leave him, or did she just pity him?

Was it just that she didn’t have the heart to leave him alone in the hospital? How could she accept that kind of distorted love?

Her relationship with Rong Yushen was so good. They often went out together, and perhaps she had gradually forgotten about him with new company.

Should he just be content that she was still here?

An’an woke up when the doctor ca to the room to do the rounds. Luckily, the doctor had instructed the day before not to give him breakfast for a few days in the morning, otherwise, she would definitely have been scolded for not knowing how to take care of people.

Without ti to freshen up, she helped the doctor lift him into a wheelchair and followed them to the examination room. She waited outside, fighting off drowsiness, while the grandmother and mother who had received the news also rushed over.

"He’s awake now, you should go back." Grandmother looked at An’an with heartache, "Look at how haggard you’ve beco. Hurry back and get so proper rest."

But An’an shook her head and said, "Little Uncle still has so ti before he’s discharged."

"No way! Look at you, it’s only been a few days, and you’ve already lost weight!"

"I haven’t lost weight, I’ve been eating well every day!"

"Even so, it’s not right! Since we know his ulterior motives, Grandma can’t let you stay here. He’s not even part of our family, you’re not obliged to take care of him. Co with us now!"

An’an frowned, unwilling: "Grandma, I..."

"Don’t argue with Grandma. Listen to her. You don’t know what people are saying about you two now. Our Su family can’t afford to lose face like this! Co with us quickly."

Just as An’an was about to say sothing, her eyes glanced to the side and saw Su Yan being wheeled out by the doctor. Her heart skipped a beat, he probably heard what Grandma just said, right?

Grandma didn’t pay any attention to her words because Su Yan ca out, instead she said in his presence, "You sched to take An’an away from us without even considering who you are. An’an doesn’t owe you anything. Taking care of you for so many days is already showing great kindness, from now on you’ll have to fend for yourself, anyway..."

"Grandma!" An’an imdiately interrupted her. Su Yan didn’t say anything, he just turned his head and said to the nurse pushing him, "Take back to the ward."

And then, as if he didn’t know them, he just left like that.

An’an wanted to follow imdiately, but Grandma sternly called out, "Stop! Co with us!"

"Mom..." An’an imdiately looked at Su Nian for help.

Su Nian had always been soft-hearted towards the kids, and she quite liked Su Yan as well. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have let her daughter be with him for so many years. After exchanging a glance with her daughter, she turned to the old lady and said, "Mom, let the child be."

"You always spoil the kids! Look, Xiaoxiao got pregnant out of wedlock, and now there are rumors about An’an. If we don’t control the situation, the family will fall apart!"

"We just want the kids to be happy. An’an has been with her Little Uncle for so many years, letting her leave now would only make her worry. She would be just as concerned at ho, so we might as well let her stay here until Su Yan gets better, then we can discuss other things."
