Seeing him probably craving a cigarette, Gu Qimiao walked over to open the window for ventilation, then set the dining table on the rails by his hospital bed.

Gu Moming smoked half a cigarette, flicked the ash, and asked her, "You still don't know what you did to make angry?"

Gu Qimiao glanced at him with a look that showed she didn't really want to deal with him, and set the food she bought on the dining table.

"Who gave you permission to get married? Sneaking back ho behind my back, have you grown bolder?"

She placed the bowl and chopsticks beside his hand, then picked up a set for herself, muttering, "I haven't actually gotten married."

"If I hadn't co, wouldn't you have gone through with it?!"

She served the rice and sat by the bed, eating with him, "It's not like I really wanted to get married..."

Gu Moming glared at her, stubbed out his cigarette and tossed it in the trash, picked up a piece of at with his chopsticks, and asked again, "Did seeing Shen Yanchen make you feel better yesterday?"

Hearing that na, Gu Qimiao just smiled, which earned her a sideways look from Gu Moming, "Didn't you hear when I told you to stop?"

"It was a special situation! I was in a hurry to escape too."

"So what's your plan?"

"I... I want to stay here for a while, my job just got stable."

"Where are you staying?"

Gu Qimiao's eyes shifted slightly as she lied, "For now... the dormitory."

He frowned upon hearing this, "What about ?"

"You're not going to Italy?"

"Why would I go if you're not going?"

Gu Qimiao said with slight dissatisfaction, "Why are you following ... Once you're healed, just go back."

Gu Moming sneered at her, "What? Afraid I'll ruin your plans with Shen Yanchen? Wake up, Gu Qimiao! Who do you think he is and who are you? If he liked you, he would have co for you long ago!"

"I know! Stop saying it!"

Even though she knew it was impossible, she still wanted to stay close to him...

Gu Moming didn't want to ntion that man anymore, so he changed the topic, "When you have ti, look for an apartnt here. Let know if you find one."

"No need! The dormitory is fine... It's easier to make friends just starting a new job."

Gu Moming thought she refused because she didn't want to spend his money, and didn't insist. She had always been very independent.

"Why are you eating with gloves on? Take them off!"

Gu Qimiao didn't listen and clumsily picked up vegetables, "No, it's cold." She didn't want him to see her injured hands.

He glared at her and threw the at she had been trying to pick up for a long ti into her bowl.

She stayed with him in the hospital for the entire afternoon. Such companionship had beco routine.

Because he couldn't feel pain, he often abused his body, suffering from big and small injuries non-stop. The hospital was almost like his ho.

A bit past five, Madam Gu called to check on Gu Moming and said she would bring dinner over, so Gu Qimiao slipped away before she arrived.

The sky outside was a bit dark, and snowflakes were drifting down.

Gu Qimiao pulled her hat over her ears and waited for the bus.

"Ring—ring—" The sound of a vintage phone ringtone ca from her bag. She took it out and saw it was just a string of numbers.

"Hello..."

The voice on the other end was deep and magnetic, "When do you get off work?"

"Brother Yan Chen? I-I've already finished work."

"Wait for to pick you up."

"No... No need, I'm already on the bus."

There was a two-second silence on the other end before he said, "Be careful, and watch out when crossing the street."

"...Oh."

After hanging up, Gu Qimiao looked at her phone and smiled lightly. Actually, he was quite considerate, wasn't he?

The bus wobbled and stopped at "Yujing International." She ran quickly into the building and realized, she didn't have the key...
