"Teacher, are you part of a special circle?"

After thinking for a mont, Zhao Heng couldn’t help but ask.

"Look at how you’re describing it, it’s just a network, but you make it sound like so secret agent organization."

Hearing Zhao Heng’s question, Gao Jun chuckled and said.

With a background like Gao Jun’s, a network of connections ford naturally from a young age, not to ntion that Old Master Gao is now considered the number two figure in the departnt. In this system, Gao Jun could make it rain if he wanted to. That he’s been able to be content as an anesthesiologist for so many years at Eastern Hospital is a testant to the success of Old Master Gao’s education.

All these years, even when Gao Jun took the role of deputy director at the center, he never leveraged his father’s connections; it was all natural and inevitable.

But with Zhao Heng, Gao Jun uniquely used a bit of his network, which shows how much he valued Zhao Heng.

"The software you developed with others fills a gap in the industry, as there’s no competition from similar software. As long as it’s done well, it has a bright future."

After pausing, Gao Jun continued. He obviously did so research before calling Zhao Heng over.

This investigation revealed that Zhao Heng’s anesthesia assistant software has great potential, so he thought he would use so connections to make the process a bit smoother.

"Once the software hits the market, you’ll basically achieve financial freedom, which is a great thing."

Gao Jun said.

For soone like Gao Jun, his salary is considered pocket money; when you have power, money naturally follows—it’s simple logic.

When you’re powerful enough, you don’t even need to do anything, and you can have many things an average person couldn’t achieve in a lifeti.

"Uh... okay."

Zhao Heng, sowhat dazed, nodded. Originally, he wanted to ask Gao Jun if this counted as pulling strings.

But on second thought, if he really asked that, he would be quite foolish.

It’s obviously pulling strings, so why ask?!

"Teacher, how are things going with country H?"

Suddenly recalling that even though the last international long-distance consultation failed, the patients infected with Fusarium in country H still needed treatnt, so there must be follow-ups.

"The treatnt plan you submitted was very effective. Although the consultation ended on a sour note, the people in country H had to admit that currently, your treatnt plan for patients infected with Fusarium could be seen as the world’s only truly effective thod."

Gao Jun smiled and said, people from country H are like that—arrogant and conceited. But this ti, they had no choice but to accept it and admit defeat.

"Did we share the preparation thod of the nano-preparation with them?"

Zhao Heng couldn’t help but ask. He deliberately didn’t say "give" because our superiors aren’t foolish enough to give away such a valuable nano-preparation thodology just like that.

This can be considered a national treasure.

So, using the term "exchange" is more appropriate. Since "give" is a one-sided offering, whereas exchange implies reciprocation, aning country H will have to pay a significant price.

Between nations, there is no sentintal exchange; it’s always polite words on the surface while secretly jabbing knives into each other’s backs.

"Yes, in exchange for so currently urgently needed items."

Gao Jun nodded and said.

Being so important, the technique for preparing the nano-preparation cannot be exchanged for money. Due to technology embargoes, country H actually has many good things we can’t buy here, like chips and other embargoed high-tech items; these can be used for exchange.

Of course, such exchanges can’t be openly stated.

The public reports will obviously claim that on humanitarian grounds, the technology was shared.

For these public reports, both sides will undoubtedly present a united front.

"So is this my reward?"

Upon hearing this, Zhao Heng couldn’t help but pick up the business card in his hand and ask.

He finally understood why Gao Jun had given him this business card out of nowhere when Gao Jun himself had not used many connections to beco deputy director.

"Half of it is considered a reward, and half is because I used so of my connections."

Gao Jun said honestly.

He ant that originally the reward level wasn’t this high, but he pulled so strings, said a few words, and as a result, the reward level was raised. The person on the business card Zhao Heng received had a higher rank and more capabilities.

Of course, these things are hidden and cannot be openly discussed.

"Mm, I understand."

Zhao Heng nodded.

Afterwards, Gao Jun and Zhao Heng chatted a bit more, and then Zhao Heng left the office.

Back in the doctor’s office in the ward area, Zhao Heng called Wang Yaoqing.

Half an hour later.

Wang Yaoqing appeared in the doctor’s office.

Sitting in the chair, Wang Yaoqing asked Zhao Heng with so confusion, "Dr. Zhao, why did you suddenly call over?"

Wang Yaoqing was busy discussing software implentation in a hospital when Zhao Heng suddenly called him, saying it was urgent and asked him to co directly.

The mont Wang Yaoqing received Zhao Heng’s call, he naturally rushed over. This was the first urgent call he had received from Zhao Heng, so he dared not delay.

"Old Wang, how did it go with today’s hospital?"

Zhao Heng first asked Wang Yaoqing.

He knew Wang Yaoqing had been going from hospital to hospital recently, discussing things. It was quite a tiring task.

"The person in charge of today’s hospital thinks very highly of our software and also ntioned that their hospital needs this kind of software, but there’s still a long way to go in the negotiations."

Wang Yaoqing slightly shook his head and said.

"They want benefits?"

Seeing Wang Yaoqing’s shake of head, Zhao Heng directly asked.

They think highly of the software and need it, yet can’t close the deal; naturally, soone’s seeking benefits.

"Mm, and they’re asking for too much."

Wang Yaoqing shook his head once more. If they had asked for a bit less, he’d have agreed, but they wanted too much, which left hardly any profit margin, making it pointless...

"Dr. Zhao, you still haven’t said why you called over? If there’s nothing, I need to go discuss matters with the next hospital."

After pausing, Wang Yaoqing continued.

"Keep this business card well. When you’re ready, call the person on the card and say that Director Gao introduced you."

Zhao Heng took out the business card Gao Jun had given him and handed it to Wang Yaoqing.

"Dr. Zhao, what is this?"

Wang Yaoqing, holding the card, asked in confusion.

"The person on this card can solve our current problem."

Zhao Heng said calmly.

"Huh? The person on this card is from the departnt?"

Wang Yaoqing asked in surprise, pointing at the card.

The software he and Zhao Heng developed faced its biggest hurdle in negotiating with hospitals; the software itself had no developnt obstacles, and everything was progressing smoothly, but the hospital negotiations weren’t going as well.

The few hospitals Wang Yaoqing quickly negotiated with earlier were thanks to his existing connections; he pulled strings to get them done.

However, with so many hospitals, Wang Yaoqing couldn’t possibly know soone in every one of them. Once those connections were exhausted, they had to tackle tough negotiations, going hospital by hospital.

Such work could only be done by Wang Yaoqing; Zhao Heng couldn’t do it.

This was actually the foundation of their partnership.

Moreover, those capable of solving such problems naturally belonged to the departnt overseeing all hospitals.

"Probably, Old Wang, don’t concern yourself with too much detail. It’s enough they can resolve our current issue."

Zhao Heng said.

"Probably?"

Upon hearing Zhao Heng’s explanation, Wang Yaoqing felt even more puzzled.

Without clear understanding, he didn’t dare rashly call soone from the card.

"Just think of it as a reward for resolving an international public health issue."

After thinking it over, Zhao Heng decided to reveal a bit to Wang Yaoqing.

"Mm, I understand."

Upon hearing Zhao Heng’s words, Wang Yaoqing nodded, making the situation clear. Fully aware of Zhao Heng’s abilities, resolving an international public health crisis was within the realm of possibility.
