Tang Jiuze held her so tightly it felt like he wanted to embed her in his own body. An Ge was montarily stunned, her brows furrowing visibly with discomfort, yet she suppressed the urge to push Tang Jiuze away.

She heard him whisper in her ear, "If I team up with Huo Qingzhou, it won’t be easy for him to take down."

As his words ceased, Huo Shaoyan stord up to them, carrying an overwhelming fury. He was more composed than five years ago and refrained from swinging his fists imdiately. Yet, Tang Jiuze could still perceive the innate ferocity in Shaoyan’s blood from the darkness on his strikingly handso face.

He approached silently, his Phoenix Eyes hiding a deep, dark color, an amalgam of suppressed hostility and so other indecipherable emotion. This deanor was rare over the years. Seeing it would be enough to scare the living daylights out of anyone. But Tang Jiuze had grown accustod to it.

His words were directed at An Ge, his voice intentionally tender and lingering, "An An, as long as you are willing, I can give you everything if you turn back."

An Ge looked at him speechlessly. How could a man well over thirty be so immature? Didn’t he fear that Huo Shaoyan would have him killed?

An Ge lifted her hand, pressing her throbbing forehead, and frowned, "Can you stop being so childish..."

"A man hoping to win over a woman he desires might act childish once or twice, even if it results in a bloody confrontation. It’s nothing to be ashad of."

An Ge: "..."

An Ge thought, if she were a man, she wouldn’t be able to stand such provocation and instigation either. Her gaze instinctively drifted to Huo Shaoyan. To her surprise, Huo Shaoyan just watched them with a cold expression.

An eerie silence spread among the three of them. She looked at Huo Shaoyan, whose gaze then fell upon An Ge. His extraordinarily handso face was as gloomy as if it could drip blood, yet his Phoenix Eyes wore a mocking smile. Beyond the faint smile lay pure ridicule.

An Ge inexplicably felt a sense of impending doom. As expected, under her watch, Huo Shaoyan finally spoke, his tone devoid of any emotion for the first ti since her return to the country, as if he were stating an objective fact.

"Since you ca back and flaunted your presence before , I’ve pleaded with you countless tis to return to my side. I’ve compromised for you more than once, even promising that I’d give you my life if you turned back. I’ve given you chances, but since you don’t cherish them, let this be the end of it."

An Ge felt a sudden panic, blurting out instinctively, "What do you an by ’the end of it’?"

The man asked back, his voice low and calm, "Ms. An, do you truly not understand, or are you pretending to be confused?"

An Ge took a deep breath, the panic in her heart growing even stronger. True to her fears, Huo Shaoyan’s next words did not disappoint.

His tone low and somber like a lancholic lody striking her heart, he said, "The end of it ans I can obliterate you all. Your daughter, Huo Chenghuan, and your son, Huo Shiqian—I won’t let any of them have it easy." After a pause, he added, "Including you."

Just as Huo Shaoyan finished, Qin Lang arrived. He walked up to him and reported, "Master, according to our investigation, Leo’s dical assistant, Anna, resides in the apartnt assigned by the hospital. Our people have surrounded the building. Should we head there now?"

Huo Shaoyan’s visit to the hospital wasn’t rely to catch An Ge. His team had discovered that Leo’s dical assistant, Anna, lived in the hospital’s apartnt building. He aid to find Anna and learn Leo’s whereabouts because only Leo could perform heart surgery on the An Family’s Commander in the Imperial City. Without it, breaking off the engagent with An Muxin was far from an easy task.

Hence, after Qin Lang spoke, Huo Shaoyan prepared to head to the apartnt building. But as soon he took his first step, he felt his clothes being tugged by An Ge.

Huo Shaoyan turned his head, giving her a glance.

At the mont, his striking face was expressionless, but the chilling vibe from his Phoenix Eyes was inescapably crashing upon An Ge. His lips emitted a cold tone, "What?"

Pausing with an insinuating tone, he continued, "Do you think that because you once carried my child five years ago and I wronged you back then, I’d now accommodate your every whim due to so guilt?"

An Ge: "..."

"Frankly, before you smashed the back of my head with a bronze artifact, my tolerance for you knew no bounds. I could even accept those two children of uncertain origin. Yet it’s precisely because of that blow that I awoke, gratefully realizing your intentions of revenge were ever so daunting. Hence, I can no longer show you any rcy."

In re seconds, An Ge’s face turned several shades paler. But her hand still clung to Huo Shaoyan’s clothes with no hint of letting go.

She stared unflinchingly at him, and after a mont, her mind finally forming words, she said, "So, you have no intention of remarrying ?"

Huo Shaoyan drew his clothes away from her grasp, a cold smile playing on his thin lips as he responded, "Five years ago, I craved your body, always feeling regret over not possessing you. But after our recent encounters, it was nothing special."

Those words were not re hurt; they were absolute humiliation. Yet An Ge appeared unaffected by them.

Looking into his eyes, she said, "Since President Huo has no feelings, let it end here." After a pause, she continued, "However, if you keep illegally detaining my son, Huo Shiqian, don’t bla for pursuing legal action..."

Her words were cut short by Huo Shaoyan’s interruption, "Your son? Since he belongs to the Gu Family of the Imperial City, naturally, he should be handed over to them. This is already in motion, and I estimate the Gu Family will arrive in Jingcheng tonight to take him back."

An Ge hadn’t expected Huo Shaoyan to uncover Huo Shiqian’s identity so quickly. Huo Shiqian’s birth was not under favorable circumstances. His biological father was the current patriarch of the Gu Family, Gu Yuandong, while his mother was nad Gu Liangchen. They were half-siblings, their relationship forged entirely through Gu Yuandong’s bullying dominance. Thus, a child born from such a twisted relationship would unlikely be treated kindly.

If Huo Shiqian were taken by the Gu Family, there would be no way Gu Yuandong would allow him to live under his nose. After all, Huo Shiqian’s existence marked the most disgraceful Chapter of his life. With his current high status and Gu Liangchen’s demise, Gu Yuandong wanted nothing more than to bury that shaful past with Gu Liangchen.

In conclusion, Gu Yuandong would never let such an unsavory scandal co to light, and if Huo Shiqian were taken, despair would await him. By any ans, An Ge couldn’t allow the Gu Family to take Huo Shiqian away.

So, almost imdiately after Huo Shaoyan’s words ended, she said, "President Huo, na your terms. What will it take for your benevolence?"

Huo Shaoyan laughed, a sinister and peculiar smile. He pulled An Ge closer, gripping her chin with his long fingers, and spoke slowly, "I must say, you’ve played a strong hand dreadfully. You held the upper hand, yet you handed your weaknesses. Why didn’t you foresee this outco?"

Arriving at this, he donned a seemingly rciful smile and said, "I’ll give you a choice. Naturally, I won’t let you be Mrs. Huo again. Join as my mistress until you bear my child. If I’m in a good mood, I might then make you Mrs. Huo, if not, we will part ways after the child is born. Of course, you can refuse. But by refusing, I won’t donate my liver to save your daughter, nor will I show compassion for your adopted son, Huo Shiqian."

Cold-blooded, harsh, harboring a desire to destroy—this was the Huo Shaoyan she rembered. An Ge saw his gleaming black eyes and felt as if she had sunk into an endless abyss, destitute.

Her face paled even more, yet she remained silent.

Watching them, Tang Jiuze stepped forward and leaned closer to An Ge’s ear, saying aningfully, "An An, falling into the sa trap once is enough. Too many tis could leave you with no burial place. Those two children of yours are indeed your weak points, but tis have changed. Since you have the courage to return to the country, I don’t believe you aren’t prepared. Don’t let him intimidate you into compromise."

After a pause, he added with deliberate implication, "Once you compromise, there’s hardly any turning back. The more you compromise, the tighter his grasp. Of course, should you choose to accept being his clandestine mistress due to temporary helplessness, that is also manageable. But be prepared to suffer in that pit once more."

With that, Tang Jiuze turned and left in bold strides.

His words left An Ge feeling chilled from head to toe, bewildered or at a loss. She still lacked the courage to completely break away from Huo Shaoyan.

Fingers clenched beside her body, she kept her pale face focused on Huo Shaoyan without uttering a word.

Huo Shaoyan, at that mont, unhurriedly lit a cigarette, the acrid smoke wafting between them. His sharply contoured handso face soon blurred in her vision, rendering him almost unfamiliar to An Ge.

She heard him chuckle and say, "Ms. An, if it’s too difficult to decide, it’s better to tear off the facade. My ti is precious and shouldn’t be wasted on aningless matters."
