Lin Xu opened his eyes.

His mind was in complete chaos, as if overloaded with too much information that nearly burst his fragile neural pathways.

M-Theory, butterflies, divine miracles, chaotic fundantal forces, the rise of Planetary Reincarnation...

This ti, he had gained substantial insights.

Many questions had been answered.

Yet these answers seed to spawn even more, far more questions.

Where did higher-dinsional space originate?

Where was the butterfly heading?

Why were fundantal forces in chaos—could order be restored?

Was Planetary Reincarnation a religious cult brainwashed by "miracles," or an extremist organization with the ultimate goal of saving the world?

How was Mars connected to all this?

Why had Jiang Xingye gone to Mars to establish a new "Mars Republic"?

Could fleeing to Mars really evade the apocalypse?

None of these questions had answers.

And he himself hadn't gotten much closer to the so-called truth of the apocalypse.

After all, even in the Bracelet World twenty years later, humanity still hadn't uncovered the truth about the catastrophe.

They didn't even realize doomsday was imminent!

Planetary Reincarnation spread panic while official organizations buried themselves in research.

No one properly looked toward the future; no one formulated truly effective counterasures.

Sigh.

The limitations of history...

Lin Xu got out of bed and updated all his findings into his docunts.

This ti, he spent considerable effort cross-referencing materials while updating, finally grasping the concept of the "higher-dinsional butterfly."

Expressed through analogy, it wasn't that hard to understand.

He was like a butterfly hatched from reality, alighting on a peony painting in a gallery.

The butterfly itself remained unchanged, but its pollen-dusted footprints marked the canvas.

That was the "projection" he brought from higher-dinsional space.

Probably why each Bracelet World entry felt like dreaming?

Lin Xu scratched his head and glanced at his wristband.

The counter showed [3], but he really didn't want to enter again tonight.

Too exhausted.

Not just ntally drained.

He genuinely needed ti to process everything and organize the clues.

Once everything was sorted out, discussing with Bai Mo would be far more efficient.

So...

Sleep!

Checking the ti—10 PM already.

Jiang Xingye had bombarded his phone with obscure abstract cody videos she'd dug up from internet corners, dumping them before him like a retriever presenting bones.

Lin Xu watched each one, replying "hahaha" like an automated bot.

Before he knew it, an hour vanished.

Damn.

Hijacked by entertainnt.

He tossed his phone aside, rushed through a shower, dried his hair, and collapsed into bed—instant zero-second sleep...

......

Next morning, Lin Xu was awakened by a call.

Since discovering flexible clock-in, he'd outright disabled his alarm.

But never expected CEO life to be so... mundane, tedious, and hectic.

The caller ID showed Ren Jian.

Answering, Ren Jian's slightly tense voice ca through:

"Comrade Lin Xu, are you awake?"

Wow, even the comrade title now.

Lin Xu checked the ti before responding:

"Worked late last night, just getting ready for the office."

"Sothing urgent?"

"Not critically."

Ren Jian cleared his throat:

"We have two... comrades from Nanjing Materials Research Institute here."

"They want to discuss Donghua Chemical Fiber's production plans."

"You're leading this project, so your presence would be ideal."

"The Research Institute?"

Lin Xu's heart skipped a beat.

Damn—just after intercepting Xu Jin, were they here to confront him?

Wait—no.

Impossible.

Having t Xu Qianlin, he must've already handled Xu Jin's situation.

Their visit likely wasn't about Xu Jin.

Were they making early contact about those two materials?

Plausible.

But determining how to engage with them posed challenges.

He'd never relinquish these materials, yet leveraging official resources required offering so benefits...

Regardless, ti to negotiate!

"Give thirty minutes," Lin Xu replied, hanging up before Ren Jian could respond.

A quick freshening-up later, his ride arrived right on ti.

Rushing to the office, he made it in just over twenty minutes.

Ren Jian's follow-up ssage arrived:

"We're in the eting room—co straight here."

"OK."

Lin Xu headed upstairs to the executive eting room beside the chairman's office.

The executive secretary waited by the door, nodding before courteously ushering him inside.

"Gentlen, President Lin has arrived."

Conversation ceased as all eyes turned toward him.

After a brief pause, a bespectacled middle-aged man stood first.

"President Lin—such youthful excellence."

He extended a hand with a smile:

"I'm Xu He, researcher at Nanjing Materials Research Institute."

"This is Director Zhang Jiachuan, overseeing our advanced carbon fiber R&D."

Bingo!

The titles confird it—they sought collaboration.

But...

This approach seed rather underhanded?

Without his consent, had Xu Qianlin leaked his intel?

Coming straight to his company cornered him—wasn't this coercive?

A flicker of irritation crossed Lin Xu's face before he masked it with polite professionalism, shaking their hands.

"Did... Elder Xu refer you?"

"Elder Xu?"

Zhang Jiachuan across from him blinked.

"Which Elder Xu?"

"Huh?"

No?

Now Lin Xu was confused.

"Not Elder Xu?"

He instinctively scratched his head.

"Then how did you find us?"

"Well... actually..."

Zhang Jiachuan coughed, choosing his words carefully:

"This is... essentially a top-down assignnt."

"We're surveying private enterprises' carbon fiber R&D progress."

"Mainly assessing new processes/technologies for broader applications."

"A colleague heard from investors about your Donghua Chemical Fiber acquisition."

"Apparently, your company's committed heavily, suggesting preliminary breakthroughs."

"So we're here to evaluate potential."

"If mutually beneficial, we could offer support—funding or technical collaboration..."

"I see."

Lin Xu nodded slowly.

So official project must've reached the cost-reduction/material-enhancent phase.

Surveying.

Tch.

Lucky them.
