"Dad!"
Zachary staggered back in disbelief, unable to accept that his father was really going to harm him.
"Which hand of yours touched Rosemary?"
Zachary’s voice trembled as he watched his father approach step by step.
"Dad, I won’t do it again."
"I asked— which hand touched Rosemary?"
"Dad!" Zachary trembled in fear, tears streaming down his face.
Soon after, a scream echoed from the garden.
Roo covered Rosemary’s eyes, speaking softly.
"Don’t look."
The sight was too bloody.
Rosemary moved his hand away, seeing Zachary’s hand bleeding.
Although the tendon was not cut, a long scar was left on his arm. Ordinary doctors probably couldn’t help; he might be scarred for life.
Mr. Panter, ignoring his son’s pain, bent over and asked Roo, "Mr. McMillian, are you satisfied with this outco?"
Seeing his humble deanor, Roo’s voice remained cold.
"You’re asking the wrong person."
Mr. Panter quickly turned to Rosemary.
"Ms. Rose, is this acceptable? Can you spare us? I will continue to discipline this unfilial son when we get ho!"
Rosemary responded indifferently, "You can go now."
Mr. Panter bowed his head imdiately.
"Thank you, Ms. Rose. We’ll leave now and won’t bother you again."
Yolanda pretended to help Zachary up, but Mrs. Panter pushed her away before she could touch him.
"You bitch! It’s all your fault!"
Yolanda was taken aback.
"Auntie—"
"If it wasn’t for you stirring things up, why would Zachary go after Rosemary, trying to stand up for your family?"
Mrs. Panter and her husband helped their son up, clearly despising Yolanda.
Attlee and Olga signaled their daughter not to interfere, but just as they were about to leave, they heard Roo say—
"Wait."
The Panter family froze in fear, thinking Roo had changed his mind.
"Mr. McMillian—"
Didn’t Rosemary agree to let them leave?
"I didn’t say you could leave."
Realizing Roo was addressing the Harris family, the Panthers sighed in relief and quickly left with their son.
Attlee looked at Roo fearfully, his voice filled with humility and appeasent.
"Mr. McMillian, do you have any other instructions?"
Instead of answering, Roo turned to Erlinda.
"Ms. Archer, can I borrow a few of your n?"
He had only brought Carl with him tonight and was short on manpower.
Erlinda readily agreed.
"No problem. Use them as you wish."
Roo spoke coldly, without any unnecessary words.
"Take them away. Give them a beating."
Carl stepped forward, grabbing Attlee’s arm first.
Erlinda waved her hand, and several bodyguards stepped forward to grab the others.
"Mr. McMillian, is there a misunderstanding? We have nothing to do with tonight’s incident!"
"It was clearly the Panter boy who touched Rosemary. We didn’t do anything! Please let us go—please!"
"Sis! Say sothing, sis!"
The sound of Yolanda’s voice annoyed Rosemary. Seeing her discomfort, Roo added—
"That woman, while she’s still young, should be taught a lesson."
Rosemary was sowhat surprised, not expecting Roo to pick up on her mood—and even instructing for Yolanda to be beaten more.
The guests were shocked, not expecting such dramatic events at tonight’s charity gala.
As the Harris family was taken away, Erlinda stepped onto the center stage, flashing a charming smile.
"I declare, tonight’s charity dinner has co to a perfect end! Thank you all for your participation!"
A perfect end?
All the guests were once again taken aback, chiming in:
"Absolutely! The event was a smashing success. If anyone asks tomorrow, I’ll tell them the donation segnt was unforgettable."
"Indeed! The Harris family was as tight as a drum, and I must spread the word about this."
"Nothing else noteworthy happened, right?"
"My mory is stuck at the donation part."
"Sa here."
"I’ve had quite a bit to drink tonight... probably won’t rember anything tomorrow."
Erlinda watched as everyone tried to cover their own backs and said with a smile,
"I won’t see you out, then."
"Goodbye, Ms. Archer."
"Goodbye."
At that mont, screams ca from the Harris family in the back garden.
But the other guests seed not to hear.
They were busy cracking jokes and leaving—not sparing a glance in the direction of the Harris family’s suffering!
eting Roo
"Rosemary, is this your fiancé?"
Erlinda reached out to shake hands with Roo, flashing a triumphant smile.
"Can’t believe this lad is my niece’s fiancé!"
"Pleased to et you, Auntie."
"You’ve got good manners, lad! I don’t feel odd when Rosemary calls auntie, but sohow, when you call that, I feel I’ve aged a few years!"
"Auntie, you’re as radiant as ever. You’ve not aged a bit."
Erlinda laughed.
"Did you sweet-talk my Rosemary into being with you?" Erlinda joked, then turned to Rosemary.
"I’m looking forward to your wedding."
That was her stamp of approval!
"Not so soon."
Rosemary didn’t reject the idea, which surprised Erlinda.
Kenneth stepped in.
"We’ve caused so trouble for Ms. Archer tonight."
Erlinda waved it off.
"Isn’t it because it’s my turf that I could stand up for Rosemary? I’ve been wanting to teach them a lesson, and it’s a relief that the Panter lad beat to it."
Louisa hugged Erlinda warmly.
"We’ll visit again when we get the chance."
"Feel free to drop by our place too."
"I’ll definitely co once I find the ti."
Erlinda then hugged Rosemary.
"Don’t be too hard on those three," Rosemary warned. "Don’t kill them."
Erlinda smirked.
"Don’t worry, I’ll leave them breathing! But I’d love to see them go bankrupt—it’ll be fun."
Seeing Erlinda’s excited face, Rosemary couldn’t help but laugh.
"We’ll be going now."
"Do visit when you have ti!" Erlinda nagged. "Maybe you could call once in a while; don’t leave it all to ."
"Got it."
"Drive safe on your way back."
Just as they reached the door, Louisa suddenly said
"Oh, I just rembered I have so work to do. Rose, you go back with Roo. The chef’s not feeling well tonight, and no one prepared supper. You guys can grab sothing to eat wherever you like."
Rosemary was speechless.
Wasn’t the implication too obvious?
Wasn’t this just a ploy to let them spend more ti together—have dinner, and then go ho?
Roo, however, responded imdiately.
"I’ll take good care of Rose."
