Lady Deter wanted to take back a point on this negotiation ground, and then so she spoke up. Action that she soon regretted as she discovered that she had been baited in again.

"I heard that the Abaddon Royal family has their eyes set on your... Plane. Is that perhaps the reason why you have finally agreed to have this discussion with us—gods! Are you in need of help?"

"Help!?" Father Black looked at Deter as if he was looking at a fool. "Lady Deter, I think you have it greatly mistaken. My king did not invite you here today because of sothing so trivial. He is only worried that as one of the only earths with human population, you gods will lose your source of sustenance.

After all, as you know, Demons can be very rough when trying to show dominance. Maybe a death here and a few more there. Cutting down the humans like Weed to feast on them.

You know, it is quite unfortunate that humans are the only source of Faith for gods, and without them..." Father Black fiddled with his goblet of wine as he raised a head to her. Ensuring that their eyes t, "...you might just go extinct!"

Those words made Deter frown slightly, but she imdiately relaxed, trying to hide it.

It was clear to her that Father Black had done his necessary investigations here and there, and knew of their weakness. Gods needed faith from the Mortals in the primary planes to survive, as they were created from their worship in the first place.

Without humans, then they were essentially over. In fact, as things were at the mont, a lot of gods were depending on their reserves to still exist.

"Father Black, are you saying that you will abandon your fellow humans to the Demons that seek to conquer your ho, plunging them once more into enslavent? Do you have no heart for your own species or is this not also part of the Lenny family’s duties?"

Deter was trying the emotional approach. Beating at the heart and consciousness of the human fragility.

However, she really underestimated Father Black. After all, he was a man that had lived for fifty years as a ghoul. His attachnts to human beings as a whole was not as incredible as she thought it would be.

Besides, this was the sa thing for the others too.

After all, who on this table was not a killer. the idea of preserving humanity was a great one, but they all knew the harsh reality. they could not save everyone.

Besides, this was the post apocalypse. Laws and Human compassion were the charity of the powerful on the weak, and nothing more. If there wished to do it, they could enslave the entire human race again.

All they were doing was to move according to their king’s will.

Deter saw the gaze of the mbers of the table. She could tell that she had made a blunder. But Father Black imdiately spoke up. "Lady Deter, I think you have mistaken our roles as mbers of the Lenny royal family. Our loyalty is not to the humans that LIVE on our plane. it is to the plane itself.

When Our King took his oath and beca king, he swore vengeance, not the loving of all humans. Don’t get us wrong. We are not heartless, but we will rather save a select few. After all, humans breed like cattles in the right environnt and in only a couple of hundred years, we would have repopulated the earth again.

However, I doubt the God mountain would last that long. I’m I wrong? In fact, If you do not act now, I doubt many of you will even last another decade. Or is that not right, Lady Deter!?" Father Black had yet again, hit the nail on a vital sore spot.

Deter was a Major god, and still had so power left that could last her life ti a while, but in a few years, she would have lost her status as a Major god and fall to beco a minor god.

This ant that many minor gods would have gone extinct by then. In fact, there was also the probability that one of the Demon Royal families would have decided to attack the God mountain and crush it by then.

In this negotiation, father Black was essentially saying one thing. ’We have ti, but you don’t.’ However, the way he said it was with jabs straight to their ego and pride.

Then again, she could not let herself agree to his words. After all, she wont be a god if she could not even save face.

What was she to tell the other gods? That she had pleaded with him for the gods to intervene for their own benefits?

Father Black saw the look on her face. He enjoyed it. Now that he had put her on the spot, it was ti to help her out a bit.

After all, gods were very prideful. If he gave too much jabs to the jaw, they might even prefer extinction.

"Lady Deter, but you are right about one thing. I am human. and it pains my heart to see, my kind, children, mothers and fathers, die at the hands of Demons. they have hurt us too much, and we are still recovering from the pain that My king brought us from.

So why don’t we make a deal instead. One that will see that both sides gain. I an, one that sees that you get Faith to sustain your god mountain, maybe even build temples on the earth again."

"Temples!?" That word got Deter excited, and she swallowed hard. Once upon a ti, it was so. Gods fed off faith from the temples that mortals built in their nas.

Father Black saw that she was interested. Even her could not hide her excitent.

However, she quickly ca back to her senses, "and what is in it for you guys?"

"Us!?" Father Black chuckled, "lets just say we..."
