When Matt appeared in the next level, level 11, he was surprised to hear a fighting scene that was close, which made him think of checking it out.

He moved closer to the battle scene until he got there.

When he looked, his eyes landed on the silver-haired girl; excitent rushed into his mind.

It has been a year since he last saw her face. Her silver hair cascaded down, her silver eyes colder than before yet radiant like the moon. She was budging in the right direction. She wore a silver dress, holding a sword too, battling against devils.

He saw everyone gaze at him, but what concerned him was Eira. Yes, the silver-haired young girl was Eira.

When her gaze landed on him, he felt coldness from it, which made him shake. There was no warmth in them.

Matt looked at her, trying to see if her emotion would change, but it was still cold, like they were strangers.

It felt as if Matt had lost strength as weakness filled his body. Everyone was surprised when they saw Matt staggering,

"It seems the heart does change." He forced a smile. They all felt confused about what had happened to him.

Eira saw this; she shivered, when she saw Matt, she was elated, but seeing the people beside her, she suppressed her emotions, giving off a cold aura.

She didn’t know it would make Matt think of another thing. She wanted to talk but kept it, planning that when they were two of them, she would explain that her love had never changed for him.

Matt stood straight, oblivious that his thought wasn’t what it is. He didn’t even look at her, avoiding her. Was it her fault? He would just bla the fact that when he was supposed to take his chance, he asked her to wait for him.

Matt looked at the devils that they were battling, the Chain Devil.

"Matt," as he was thinking of how to battle the Chain Devils, he heard a familiar voice. He looked to see his three roommates calling out to him.

Matt smiled; he was surprised, never expecting them to have joined Eira’s group. As Matt was crossing the dungeon level, he was looking for them, hoping that they were okay.

He checked the rest of the people, Brad’s familiar figure, and a few faces that Matt recognized as having S-ranked talent due to their popularity in the academy.

Matt looked at the Chain Devils. "It seems that you guys might need so help."

When Matt said this, all eyes were on him. It’s true they needed help, but could he offer help, soone who couldn’t even awaken a single vein, and he’s also a D-rank talent. Matt saw all of their expressions, the ridicule, the disappointnt; he just smiled. He better show them with his strength.

He unsheathed his sword. "Combat Sword Skill: Chop." He chopped down with his sword; one of the Chain Devils was imdiately killed, splitting into two. The entire crowd was stupefied, not able to believe this scene.

His roommates were the ones that were shocked the most; they never thought that Matt was strong. Even with Matt’s action, so thought it was so luck, or maybe he made a sacrifice to release such strength.

Matt didn’t even hear this, and if he did, he wouldn’t even bother; he looked at the Chain Devils that were attacking him.

Half of them stood with Eira, and the other, the remaining half, attacked Matt.

Matt didn’t flinch at this; their combat power was almost the sa as the Bone Devil’s. The chain devil body was like chains; four of them swung their bodies, releasing their chains that attacked Matt.

"Combat Sword Skill: Block"

He raised his sword, using the side to block the chain. He moved, appearing beside one of the chain devils, cutting it down.

Another Chain Devil—it was an instant kill. This was possible due to combat skill; he thought he had trained it to perfection, but it wasn’t—its power kept increasing.

The chain devils let out a cry of anger, all attacking Matt with their chains. Matt quickly moved. Sorsaulting backward, the chain hit nothing but the ground.

The crowd watched all of this; words couldn’t be used to describe the amount of their shock. Eira watched this scene; she smiled, her cheeks red for a mont.

"Let’s support him," she roared, taking them as they joined Matt in their attack, battling the one that surrounded them.

Matt raised his sword, slashing diagonally twice, cutting another two of the chain devils.

"Thank you for help," he heard Eira’s voice, turning to see her behind him, battling chain devils.

Matt nodded, focused on the Chain Devil. He didn’t know that his action had caused Eira to panic; she could feel a bit of coldness.

He focused on the chain devils; another slash took the life of a chain devil.

Within a few minutes, the chain devils were exterminated without wasting ti.

"Yo bro, I never thought you were this strong," Brainiac laughed, patting Matt on his arms.

Matt scratched his head. It’s not that he doesn’t want to tell them, but alas...

Brent and Darwin, the four roommates, started discussing, and Matt found out that they had t each other in Level 1, crossing together, reaching Level 3, where they t Eira, who invited them to join her, which they were glad to do.

As they were discussing, Eira walked towards their direction, which Matt saw.

"Thank you for taking care of my friends." Matt clasped his hands together. Eira paused a mont before she smiled,

"No problem. We also have so fate. I want to invite you to join our team. With your strength, I would appreciate it if we could work together," she said.

Everyone was surprised by the invitation. Even though the guys don’t want Matt to join them, they know that he’s strong and he’s needed in the group.

Matt looked at Eira. "I am sorry, I like to fight alone. I am a lone wolf."

Nobody expected Matt’s rejection; they thought they were close before. Also, Eira herself is a beauty and the number one person in the academy, even the Southern Continent, in terms of talent.

All the people who followed her were invited to join her, and they didn’t think twice before they replied, especially the guys.

Eira was shocked looked at Matt. His gaze was just ordinary; it felt cold to her. Her heart felt a pang of pain.

Matt didn’t seem to notice her gaze. "Well, I got to go now. Thanks again for taking care of them."

His roommates tried to stop him, but he made his decision. Everyone watched as Matt left, his lonely figure disappearing from their view.

Eira watched this; a few minutes passed before she composed herself. Nobody disturbed her; her eyes glead. "I would go and try to convince him again," she forced a smile.

She didn’t wait for the reply of anyone before she bolted towards the direction Matt left.

Matt walked down the dungeon; he would kill every chain devil he t with violence. One could see that he was angry at the mont.

Matt’s mind flashed with Eira’s cold eyes, which hurt his heart.

As he killed a chain devil, his sword still dripping with blood,

"MATT GARFIELD!!" He heard the roar of an angry voice that called his na.

He turned on his back in shock, seeing Eira’s angry figure.

Before he could talk, she ran towards him, biting him on the neck.

Matt was shocked by this sudden behavior; he didn’t expect it. Eira’s teeth were sharp, piercing his skin, which made him grunt in pain.

"Eira, what are you trying to do?" He cried out, trying to stop her.

After a shuffle, he was able to separate her, but the next mont she broke down and started crying,

"Matt, do you hate that much?" she cried, crying out. Her tears made Matt shocked and panicked He’s not dumb enough not to realize that he had wronged her. He looked at her figure that was crying; her eyes were on Matt. He could feel her fear of him abandoning her.

He didn’t waste ti hugging her; he had made such a cold figure cry,

"I’m sorry," Matt said in a soft voice.

He raised her head; their eyes t. Seeing her swollen eyes, his heart felt an ache.

He looked at her lips; he didn’t waste ti, plucking it.

But he didn’t know all of this was under the gaze of soone.
