Lawrence Winters had already reached the first-floor lobby of Kenneth Osborne’s company building.

Out of courtesy, she felt she should call in advance before showing up, to let them prepare and avoid being too sudden.

The phone that had been unreachable was finally answered just as she was approaching the elevator.

Lawrence Winters smiled and said, "Is this Director Jiang? This is Lawrence Winters from NewHuman Entertainnt Ltd., responsible for following up on your special effects production. It’s been three weeks, and I wanted to see how things are progressing."

The technical director was montarily stunned, then quickly glanced at Kenneth Osborne and Spring Spencer, who were standing at the wall near the door, before pressing the hold button. He said, "Mr. Osborne, Ms. Spencer, Manager Lawrence from NewHuman wants to co see the final product. What do you think?"

Spring Spencer looked at Kenneth Osborne with a smile and said, "That’s your Mr. Osborne’s problem, don’t ask ."

The technical director knew about the "engaged couple" relationship between Kenneth Osborne and Lawrence Winters but didn’t know they were actually already married.

Kenneth Osborne recalled the effects of that project and wasn’t entirely satisfied, considering changing a bit of the code before showing them to Lawrence Winters.

The five-minute special effect Lawrence Winters did previously was too impressive; he didn’t want to be looked down upon by her.

"...Just say that it’s still in production and have her co next week," Kenneth Osborne said as he pulled out his phone, intending to call Lawrence Winters.

But then he rembered that Lawrence Winters had blocked him, so he could only use his office landline to call her.

He quickly said, "Have a good talk with Ms. Spencer while I head back to the office."

His office at AI Vision Promise Corporation was opposite the post-production special effects company.

The whole floor was rented by them; the post-production special effects division only took up a quarter of the entire floor, while the other three quarters were AI Vision Promise’s territory.

Kenneth Osborne returned to his president’s office and dialed Lawrence Winters’ number on the landline, only to find it constantly occupied with a busy tone.

Lawrence Winters was on the phone with the technical director at that mont.

She was already standing at the elevator on the first floor, and after the call connected, there was no response for a long ti. Lawrence patiently waited a little longer.

She knew that it was indeed a bit inappropriate to show up unannounced, and it would be better to give them so ti to prepare.

Thus she patiently waited, and finally, the technical director spoke: "Manager Lawrence? We are in the midst of production. You can co, but the effects might not be up to par. We hope you can give us another week; it would be better to co next week at this ti."

This was a gentle refusal.

Lawrence Winters quickly said, "It’s okay, I just want to see how far you’ve gotten. I won’t demand perfection right now."

The technical director couldn’t help but glance at Spring Spencer standing by the door.

Spring Spencer noticed his look and said with a faint smile, "Since Director Jiang is so busy, I’ll go now and see you at next week’s eting."

The technical director’s grasp on the landline phone wasn’t tight, and Spring Spencer didn’t deliberately lower her voice, speaking in her normal tone.

Lawrence Winters, with her particularly keen hearing, inevitably heard Spring Spencer’s voice.

"...Director Jiang, who are you talking to?" Lawrence Winters’ voice had a slight chill.

Director Jiang quickly said, "It’s Ms. Spencer from Four Seasons Company. She ca for a eting today to discuss production progress with us."

"Oh, so she can see it but I can’t?" Lawrence Winters raised an eyebrow, her tone slightly provocative.

Director Jiang initially wanted to nod but abruptly realized he couldn’t express it that way and quickly shook his head, saying, "No, no, of course you can see, but you don’t understand the technology. Ms. Spencer understands the technology; she can give constructive opinions to help us improve."

Lawrence Winters beca even more upset when she heard, "Ms. Spencer understands technology? Is she studying artificial intelligence or computer programming?"

Director Jiang was dumbfounded by Lawrence Winters’ tone and quickly said, "No, no, Ms. Spencer didn’t study artificial intelligence or computer programming. I think she studied finance? Or business? I’m not sure, why don’t I ask around for you? Or you could check her profile online. I rember she was once a CFO of a listed company; there should be a complete profile online."

Lawrence Winters laughed in exasperation.

This was indeed the linear thinking of a science and engineering guy.

She didn’t make things too difficult for this technical director, realizing she hadn’t thought it through. How could she just announce her visit without an appointnt?

But then again, she thought, she wasn’t there to talk business; she was there to check on their progress!

She’s the client, and the client is king.

Dare to say no to the king?!

This is rebellion!
