"Hehehe."
Hearing Erin’s giggling again. Raymond thought for a second whether she was planning sothing else again.
It had only been a week since those lemons, and Raymond was not about to suffer again like that.
"Erin. What’s so funny?"
"Hehehe, mom doesn’t know."
"..?"
Oh right. His clone.
Erin had t her yesterday, which lead to several situations.
---
"Dad. Are you really cheating on mom?!"
---
Naturally he wasn’t, he and Ellen weren’t even like that in the first place anyways so even if he was. It wouldn’t be considered cheating.
---
"Dad. You have a sister but you never told ?!
---
Again wrong, but given that they both had the sa scent. For Erin, she probably thought Raymond had just duplicated himself.
---
"Dad. Is she...your mom?!"
---
This one was just wrong again.
Explaining the concept of his ti magic to Erin was confusing, and Raymond didn’t feel like giving her all this existential knowledge when she was still so young.
So he just explained it as duplicating himself. Which was simpler for her to understand.
Ellen, who had only just woken up. Watching the two of them giggling to each other, felt her wariness imdiately rise.
Knowing Raymond, he was definitely hiding sothing!
"Oh, you’re awake?"
"...I woke up a bit ago. What’s so funny that you two keep laughing?"
"Hehehe. Nothing mom!"
Even Erin was pulled into his sche.
"We’re just watching a really funny...nature docuntary!"
She narrowed her eyes at the two of them, before finishing her water and sitting down next to the two of them on the couch.
"Really? Then why don’t we all watch it together then?"
It was best to keep them within her line of sight at all tis. Keeping tabs on the two of them. That way, they wouldn’t be able to do anything.
It wasn’t like they could act in two places at once at the sa ti after all.
But Raymond only smiled back in response, "Sure, no problem."
...very suspicious!
Settling down and getting comfortable, Ellen snatched Erin out of Raymond’s arms and put her onto her own lap.
This one especially couldn’t be allowed to move anywhere.
Just to keep her satiated and prevent her from moving however, Ellen put a hand onto her head and began petting her.
Just like that, despite it being a weekday. With all three of them supposed to be in class. Instead of doing that, they began watching the nature docuntary on screen instead.
Truly, family takes after family.
It was admittedly, an extrely interesting docuntary.
"The owl is a monster which appeared after the Convergence of Realms. Equivalent to an unranked human, the owl possesses little to no fighting capability."
The narrator had an extrely pleasant to listen to voice, rich and deep like a vanilla desert.
The accompanying video was also very interesting.
With the head of a common feline, and the body of an owl. It was only around the size of Raymond’s forearm. With a very cute appearance.
"Due to it’s low fighting ability, it has adapted in several thods in order to survive."
The owl hopped around a bit, before eventually settling into a cavity in the tree. Pulling a dense branch to cover the entrance.
The cara cut to inside the tree cavity, since it was dark. A special type of magic cara had to be used. Letting them see a sound asleep owl.
The owl, lying flat on its stomach with its head on the ground. Had its mouth open as it slept. The sight of which reminded both Raymond and Ellen of a certain other creature in this room.
"The owl spends most of its twenty year lifespan asleep. Using its large reserves of food and water. It is often referred to as the laziest animal on Terra. Beating out sloths, pandas and even giant dropping bears."
Nom nom
Raymond quietly turned his head to Erin, who was laying with her head down on Ellen’s lap. Lazily opening her mouth every once in a while for Ellen to feed her grapes. All the while constantly petting and rubbing her head.
Pure gluttony and sloth right there.
"..."
The narrator continued,"The only ti the owl is active, is during the one ti each year where it actively searches for fruit and nuts to sustain its constant sleeping lifestyle. "
Ellen quietly turned to face him, the sa thought fluttering through both of their heads. Although the actual target of their thoughts was on a different thing.
The laziest animal on Terra? It was definitely in this room right now.
’More like Erin...’
’More like Raymond...’
Ellen reached for another grape to feed Erin, only to realize she ran out of grapes to feed her.
"Erin. Can you go to the kitchen and grab a few snacks for us?"
"...okay."
Hopping out of her lap, Ellen continued to watch the docuntary as she waited for Erin to co back.
Ellen was aware of most monsters on Terra, mainly the strong, dangerous and important ones. But a monster like the owl was extrely interesting even to her. Because it was just about the exact opposite of every other monster she had ever t in her life.
It was also a very bizzare looking monster. So extra points for that.
She let out a big yawn, arching her back as she stretched briefly before continuing to pet Erin’s head.
.
.
.
"Hey Ellen."
Raymond’s voice broke her out of her daydreaming. Causing her to let out a confused hm at him.
"...hm?"
"You do realize you’re petting instead of Erin right?"
"..."
Her hand paused, tilting her eyes downwards slightly. She saw Raymond’s head resting on her lap, replacing Erin’s earlier position. The current angle made it so she couldn’t see his face, but she could definitely feel his soft, silky hair tickling her stomach and thighs.
’...how did this even happen?’
More importantly, why was she still petting him?
Her hand seemingly moved automatically, back and forth as she caressed his soft hair. Compared to Erin, where it was a bit of a hassle to do so with her horns. Raymond’s hair felt really nice to touch. Soft and silky, and slightly cool to the touch.
It was really unfair, he only ever used magic to clean himself. Whereas Ellen had to work so hard just to maintain her own appearance.
Seeing her not responding, Raymond called out her na again.
"...Ellen?"
"I know."
"??!"
Ellen retracted her hand from his head. Keeping her face completely still as a rock despite the warmth creeping up her body.
As much as she would have liked to continue, petting Raymond and petting Erin were very different things.
So, acting as unbothered as possible. She rely raised an eyebrow at Raymond’s confusion. As if to say ’what’s so strange about petting you?’.
"So what?"
"..."
Her nonchalance about the situation left Raymond speechless. Lying there motionless on her lap as he thought about what to do next.
Although her lap was extrely comfortable...he couldn’t help but think this as it was his second ti receiving a lap pillow from her after all.
Co to think of it. How did he even end up in this position?
He had just been lounging back slightly, only to feel an invisible force pull him the mont Erin left...
"..."
Erin?
...now that he was really thinking about it. Didn’t Erin seem to have so kind of telekinesis ability?
In fact, it was exactly the sa as the telekinesis he used. By brute force releasing his mama and controlling that around objects to move them.
But Raymond had never thought Erin this. Unless, she had sohow managed to learn just by watching him. Which would have been impossible if she was a normal human. But dragon had good mana senses, they needed mana to live after all, and being able to detect mana very well helped them with that.
Erin was a special dragon as well. Similar to Flare, she was very talented in magic for a dragon.
So every ti he had used his telekinesis out of laziness. Erin had watched him, and gradullay learned just by copying him. Sothing he wasn’t even sure he could do himself in the tifra Erin had.
It was right in front of his face each ti, yet he simply shrugged it off as her subconscious actions.
"Erin might be more talented then we thought."
"Yeah. She’s too damn cute."
"I an like for magic."
Raymond thought back to each ti Erin used this telekinesis.
Dragging him and Ellen back into bed, pulling the two of them together into group hugs, and now using it to push Raymond onto Ellen.
But if Erin was doing it consciously, then why do all of this? He couldn’t find any connection whatsoever.
Speaking of, Erin was only supposed to grab a few snacks wasn’t she? What was taking so long?
Unless...
Expanding his senses, Raymond let out a despondent sigh.
"Erin. Why aren’t you coming in?"
"!!!"
He heard the faintest sound of alarm as Erin frantically ducked away. Before reappearing in front of the two of them again, holding several packets of snacks on her hand. As well as her tail gently wrapped around a glass of water.
"I couldn’t find the water?"
"..."
Well that was definitely a new excuse at least.
"If you can’t find the water, how did you drink water before?" he asked, slightly amused. Only for the smile to be imdiately wiped off his face when he heard her next reply.
"I went to the sink and drank from there."
Maybe it really wasn’t an excuse??
