Chapter 155: 155:Confird Roles

There was only ever one reason to say soone’s full na.

And hearing Raymond get his full governnt na get called out by Ellen in a tone that contained enough lava and venom to burn soone alive and simultaneously make their stomach rot. It was enough to make Arthur fear for his friend’s life.

"Leave him alone!" He quietly muttered under his breath.

After protecting Raymond with that small ’leave him alone’ that only he heard. He imdiately moved onto the next step.

Prayer.

Arthur wasn’t a religious person, but he was willing to do anything for his friend except for actually protect him from Ellen. That was just too far.

Finished with his prayer, he then turned his head away.

Stomping towards the stage, Ellen balled her fists up. Her entire body seemingly emitting steam. Eyes glowing as she locked onto Raymond on stage. Despite there being an actual demon in the academy in the form of Audrina, Ellen’s current appearance would have made her feel like she was eting another one of her kin.

Raymond had been through quite a lot, so he didn’t fear many things.

But right now, his legs felt weak. Trembling as a predator made its way towards him. The sense of impending doom only intensifying with each step.

"So this is the devil?"

Ellen turned to look at her.

"You’re even calling

the devil in front of others?"

My own shadow. Slandering . In front of others?

"Are you the one in charge of the auditions?"

"So what if I am?"

"Do not give the role to Raymond. As a matter if fact, I don’t want him involved in this play at all."

The two of them t face to face, although Ellen was shorter then her so she had to look up.

In doing so, her view was briefly blocked by two spheres.

She crossed her arms. Looking down on Ellen, she too was a scion from a Family. Although she didn’t flaunt it or use it with any malicious intent, it helped to provide better with the backbone needed to stand up to soone like Ellen.

"Why should I listen to you?"

They had spent a lot of money just to get Raymond to audition after all. They weren’t about to let that go to waste!

Look at that face! The jawline, the eyes, the lips and the hair! Every part seamlessly lded together to create a structure worthy of a dragon’s appreciation.

If there was a perfect human, then Nicole (the theatre director) figured that this was what a perfect human would look like.

Seeing Ellen try to stop him, it made her realize why Raymond had been in such a rush already, and it also made her thank herself for deciding to give him a chance. Because if he was caught early and wasn’t allowed to participate. That was a lot of their budget down the drain!

"I’m his master. If I don’t want him to participate, then he doesn’t."

The artist inside of Nicole and the fighting spirit inside Ellen both clashed. The air in between them being filled with an invisible pressure.

Glare

Ellen turned back to Raymond, raising a hand and curling her index finger to gesture.

’Co here.’

He took a step back, imdiately causing her glare to sharpen.

At this point, the dozens of spectators were basically watching a live action drama occur right in front of their eyes. Their only wish being they brought popcorn with then as they watched.

A showdown between between two people just for Raymond!

Sure the two won weren’t extre rivals to the point that it beca more amorous then actual argunt, and neither were they fighting over Raymond’s heart but rather whether he could be in a play or not.

But Raymond was Ellen’s Shadow, so it was like she was fighting to get Raymond out of her control for herself. Sothing which already stirred the hearts of many a young fanfiction indulger in the room. Even if it was completely far away from the truth.

"If Raymond wants to participate. It is his own choice, and as the theatre director. I have the decision on whether or not I cast him."

"Then don’t cast him. He doesn’t want to do it."

Ellen used to be soone who didn’t speak a lot.

Not because she was anxious or afraid, but simply because she didn’t want to.

This led to quite a strange trait of hers, in order to deter others from speaking to her. She had developed a skin thick enough to block just about any form of criticism, insults and just negative feedback in general. In other words, she was pretty damn shaless.

"Raymond, you don’t want to participate right?"

"I do?"

"No you don’t."

She shut him down. Making Nicole go speechless.

"...he said he wants to, and I approve so he gets the lead role. There’s nothing you can do."

"Then cast

as the female lead Viviana. You can do that right?"

Nicole’s eyes widened.

Externally, she only looked a bit surprised. But internally, she was practically jumping and screaming in joy.

Why did she want Raymond to be the lead role in her play in the first place? Because he was damn handso!

And Ellen, was soone whose looks could be considered second to none! (With the sole exception of Noelle but that was up to preference.)

In their year of course, although she could also be first in their year and would still be ranked highly when considering the entire female population. People had different tastes after all. Not everyone could appreciate a good beauty in front of them even if she stared into his eyes and forced him to kneel.

So people liked those with dark hair, so people liked those who liked to step on them, so people liked those with fun personalities, so people liked those who were good at certain activities. So people liked the sa gender.

Raymond didn’t judge, except for maybe the second one. Then he would say he didn’t judge them while judging them internally.

"...do you even know how to act?"

"You didn’t seem to care about Raymond’s acting skills. I’m just as beautiful so what’s stopping you from casting ?"

Even her shaless self complint couldn’t shake Nicole’s joy.

As for why Ellen was doing this...

’If he’s going to kiss soone. It’s better to be

right?’

She was essentially offering herself up as martyr. A sacrifice if you will.

At Raymond’s age, kissing soone else in their year that was actually sixteen was just way too weird! And it made Ellen feel knots form in her stomach which also made her feel all tingly and strangely angry, so rather then that. She would rather be the one sacrificed. She did all this to protect her academy mates. Unlike them, she was actually a fully mature woman after all.

"...okay. You and Raymond are the two leads then. No backing out now."

"I’ve never regretted anything."

That was a lie, she did regret quite often actually.

But she had to maintain her image, she could already feel a small portion of it being dirtied by this incident. Then worst case scenario, when Raymond told the truth about her. So people might actually believe him.

With that whole situation sorted out, she grabbed Raymond’s wrist and dragged him sowhere else private.

Her next actions wouldn’t really match her image after all.

***

"Say it again."

"...I’m sorry for running away from my master."

"Again."

"I’m sorry for running away from my master."

She let out a long breath, feeling her emotional state return to normalcy.

Everything was all sorted out now. Rather then a stranger whom she didn’t know. Raymond would be kissing her instead.

’...’

’?’

As the adrenaline in her body died down, and her mind returned to rationality. She slowly processed her own actions, and unfortunately. The consequences of her actions.

Because the sword of karma rarely arrived dull, and right now. Ellen was reaping a bountiful harvest of ’consequences of her own actions’, flavoured with regret as the seasoning.

Her statent of never regretting anything was already aging really poorly, despite being said only about ten minutes ago.

’ and Raymond...’

Her ears turned crimson. Heat rushing through her body as she fully realized what she had just done.

Just imagining his flawless face barely a few inches away from hers. With soft blue eyes like snow staring directly into her. The faint scent that was distinctly unique to him. Holding her body tight as he pulled her in and closed the distance. His lips as he slowly approached and...

"K-k-k..."

Raymond looked up slightly, seeing Ellen’s face suddenly turn red as she stuttered and struggled to get a word out.

Even now he still didn’t know why exactly Ellen had wanted him out of the academy play so badly. To the point she was willing to do all of those actions and even beco the female lead role herself when she couldn’t get him out.

Now seeing her turn red and stutter so badly, he only felt his confusion get amplified even more.

Was...was it really that bad?!
