The young man remained silent even after having read everything.
"Rude." He uttered. "Who do you think you are to give a na?"
The figure in the darkness, referred to by the System as Administrator, smiled.
"And Depraved Hero? What's that supposed to an? I'm neither Depraved nor Heroic."
"But aren't you happy with the gifts I co bearing? Absolute Authority and the Slave-"
"You want to focus on that when I still don't know anything about what's happening?"
"All you need to know about it..." The Administrator's gaze turned towards the fuming building in the distance. "Is that it's real."
"And why are you doing this?"
The Administrator smiled as they turned back towards the Depraved Hero.
"Why do you care?"
He sighed and let out a sigh.
"I don't."
"Then why ask?" The Administrator as well as the darkness engulfing them disappeared as they snapped their fingers. "Why ask when you don't care?" The Administrator reappeared behind Elijah, and lazily wrapped their arms around his neck. "This might be the best thing to have ever happened to you, you know?"
"What's the point?"
"Chaos."
"What's an Administrator?"
"A guard dog."
"Do you bite?"
"Only those who fail to follow the rules."
"What are the rules?"
"There are none."
"Whose guard dog?"
"The Apocalypse's."
Elijah slowly turned his head around and stared into the red piercing eyes.
"Can I make you my guard dog?"
The Administrator smiled.

A quiet chuckle exited Elijah's mouth.
"Maybe one day."
"Indeed..." The Administrator whispered, seeming almost shocked by sothing. "Maybe one day."
"So you ca to give the rewards and to give a na." Elijah said as he picked up the knife he had obtained as part of the Tutorial Quest. "Seems strange to co just for that. Could've done it over the System or whatever."
The Administrator remained silent for a couple of seconds.

"Huh?" The Administrator seed surprised or disturbed, as if having been lost deep in thought a second earlier. "Sure, whatever."

Four screens appeared in front of Elijah.
One for C Rank Items and one for C Rank Skills. A third for B Rank Items and a fourth for B Rank Skills.
"Choose quickly." The Administrator said after a couple of minutes. "The Main Quests will start soon, and you're not inside any of the Main Quest Areas."
"Not inside any of the Main Quest Areas? Since I need to do extra work, will going to one of the Main Quest Areas count as a Quest in and of itself? A Side Quest? Or maybe a Sub-Quest?"

"I see..."
The Administrator stared at him silently as he debated which Skills and Items to pick.
'Yes, not exactly Depraved, nor exactly Heroic. That's exactly what I need.' The red eyes narrowed. 'The one who will walk perfectly down the middle. I need a candidate like that, so that I can put an end to this suffering. So that I can put an end to the destruction of innocent worlds...'
"Oh, Healing Touch sounds good." Elijah nodded. "Plus, it has Sub-Skill potential? Whatever that ans..."
