Itai slowly got up from the bed, his body aching terribly, and he pushed off to avoid falling. He was in a luxurious room that seed to be ant just for him. Next to him stood Zheren, who had already noticed that Itai was awake.

Itai rembered that so maniacal brother of Flor had slamd him into a wall for no reason. Suddenly, Flor entered the room.

"You’re up. Sorry about that," said Flor.

Itai then rembered that he hadn’t felt any mana energy coming from Hikaru. In fact, not even from Nanari. That was pretty strange—maybe if he had felt his magic energy, he would have been more cautious, but the result probably wouldn’t have changed anyway.

"I didn’t feel any magic energy from your brothers, which struck as kind of weird," said Itai.

"Well, there’s a rule that everyone at Stage 6 and above has to learn a special spell that automatically hides their magic energy. You get that spell even if you’re not a noble. The reason is that beings at Stage 6 and higher emit such strong magic energy that it can even destroy their surroundings. This rule applies all over the world. But it only applies to intelligent beings—like humans, or even elves. Other non-intelligent beasts can adapt and avoid releasing their magic energy without a spell," Flor explained.

"You sure know a lot," said Itai after a mont.

"Well, this is normal information that every noble knows," said Flor.

"By the way, how big is your family?" Flor asked.

"I’m alone. Everyone in my family is dead," said Itai.

"Well, that’s pretty different from , heh. I’ve got 4 brothers, 1 sister, a mom, a dad, and 3 uncles, and we all live in this mansion," said Flor.

"Anyway, I’ve got sothing for you," said Flor, and threw sothing toward Itai.

It was a small silver disc, about the size of a fist. "Send a bit of your mana into it, and it’ll beco yours," said Flor.

Itai did as Flor said and channeled a bit of his mana into the device. When he did, he felt a strange connection to it.

"Now no one can use it except you. You’re probably wondering what it is—it’s a Night Communicator, and it’s used for long-distance communication," said Flor.

"Thanks. It’s good to have a noble’s son as a friend," said Itai after a while.

"In order to communicate with soone, they also need a Night Communicator. Anyway, the model I gave you can only have three contacts and doesn’t have any special functions, but it still cost 70 Mana Crystals, so don’t lose it," said Flor.

"Mana Crystals? I’ve never heard of that currency," said Itai while browsing through the Night Communicator.

"Mana Crystals are mostly owned by nobles or wealthy warriors. One Mana Crystal equals 10,000 gold. Mana Crystals are used as currency, but they have another important ability. They contain a dense concentration of mana."

"So when you train near them, a lot more mana flows into your main part, and you grow stronger much faster. One Mana Crystal lasts for a whole day. That’s why nobles and their children beco much stronger much faster than regular Enlightened," Flor explained further.

Itai, after four months of consistent effort, had earned a little more than 8,000 gold, which wasn’t even the value of a single Mana Crystal. The thing he was holding in his hand right now was worth 70 Mana Crystals. Only now did Itai realize just how wealthy and important a friend he had gained.

"I’ll link you with so we can contact each other," said Flor, taking Itai’s Night Communicator and pulling out his own.

His was slightly bigger and had black stripes on it. He held it next to Itai’s, and after three seconds, he handed it back.

"Now we’re connected. Now, when you touch it, you’ll feel foreign mana inside—that’s mine. Just think about wanting to call , and my Night Communicator will start making noise, and I can either accept or reject it. The sa goes for you if I call you. Try it out," said Flor.

Itai felt foreign mana in his Night Communicator, focused on it, and thought about wanting to talk to Flor. Flor’s Night Communicator started making loud noises. Flor picked it up and held it from the back for a mont.

"That’s how I reject you. If I had touched the front, I’d have accepted, and we’d be able to talk like we were standing next to each other," said Flor.

"Heh, how does it feel discovering the world of nobility?" Flor asked with a smile.

"Weird, but I’ll get used to it," said Itai.

They chatted for a while longer, but then Itai realized he hadn’t been ho for a day and a half, and Flain might assu he had been kidnapped.

"I need to go now," said Itai, said goodbye to Flor, and left with Zheren.

Once they were gone, the smile on Flor’s face vanished—but then returned, even wider. "Perfect," he muttered to himself.

Flain was in the basent, slashing with his swords, but his mind was too deep in thought. Ghosty had told him yesterday that Itai and Zheren hadn’t returned.

Itai was definitely not dead—if he was, then Flain would be too. There was a high chance that soone had kidnapped or captured him. Losing Itai would be a huge loss. Flain was currently debating whether to leave on his own or risk staying here.

Itai knew a lot about him, and if soone learned those things, it would be bad. Flain finally decided that he would wait ten more hours, until nightfall, and if Itai hadn’t returned by then, he would leave without him.

Ghosty’s head erged from the wall as he said, "Itai and Zheren are heading toward us right now."

’That could be a trap. I doubt soone weaker than could have kidnapped Itai. But why would soone stronger set up a trap for ? They could just ambush and capture ,’ Flain thought.

"Take a good look and make sure no one is following them from afar or if there’s anything strange about how they look," Flain ordered.

"And who do you think I am? Your slave?" Ghosty retorted.

"Look, if I end up imprisoned sowhere, you’ll have to stay in the basent forever and watch tied up. Is that what you want? Doesn’t sound like much fun," Flain said with a smile.

"Fine, you win. I’ll go check it out," said Ghosty and flew out of the villa...
