Chapter 918: Chapter 690: Be a Person

Jora felt like her life was unbearable.

She had clearly steeled herself for an all-or-nothing battle and succeeded in injuring Heyman, but everything spiraled out of control imdiately afterward, veering onto an entirely unknown path.

She thought activating the Bloodline Secret Technique could pinpoint her sister’s exact location. But then, that bizarre man struck her back.

What followed were relentless assaults and pursuit from Heyman’s faction.

She knew Heyman well, but that figure cloaked entirely in black robes was profoundly strange. For a long ti, Jora was pushed to exhaustion, employing every ans she had and paying unimaginable costs just to escape.

Her power stemd from flas, yet to avoid being tracked, she was forced to hide beneath the northern lands blanketed in snow and ice.

For a stretch of ti this way, Jora managed to barely patch up her grievous injuries. But just as she was about to push through and fully recover, a peculiar sensation erged within her body.

At first, Jora paid little attention, thinking it was just a normal reaction to the healing process. But as ti passed, the sensation began to spread.

And then, it transitioned from a faint ache into a peculiar…

Pleasure?

This feeling was utterly alien to Jora, but having wandered the continent for centuries, there were certain things she had never personally experienced yet had heard described innurable tis in dramas and poetry.

Connecting it to a certain possibility, Jora was instantly consud by rage.

Even if it hadn’t truly occurred to her directly, the twin bond they shared—the transmission of tactile sensations between them—ant that it felt almost indistinguishable from experiencing it firsthand.

Dora had been imprisoned on Ceylon Peak. As her sister, Jora had fought and sacrificed on the outside, using a special Secret Technique to magnify Dora’s sensations while severing their transmission.

This was ant as a layer of protection.

After all, Jora’s power was far too intense. Any sensations transmitted to Dora carried the risk of harm.

Their unique connection wasn’t limited to this—it was reflected in their power as well.

Even if Dora did nothing but remain confined on Ceylon Peak,

her strength paralleled Jora’s growth, advancing unchecked to the late Fourth Tier without any training.

If the two were free to mutually support one another, their growth would be far more rapid.

Though Heyman had imprisoned Dora, he rarely inflicted cruel punishnts on her. Occasionally, however, due to retaliatory actions by resistance forces, he’d vent his frustrations by tornting Dora, indirectly passing the pain onto Jora.

This served as a grim warning.

During those earlier years, Dora had seed more like a buffer zone, preventing their conflicts from escalating into a deathless blood feud.

But now, as Jora’s recovery reached a crucial turning point, the strange sensations within her body began to surge like a tidal wave, striking in relentless waves.

And yet, there was no way to relieve it. She could only grit her teeth and endure it alone.

“That damned man!”

“What did you do to Dora’s body?”

The flas emanating off her body lted the surrounding ice. Taking deep breaths, Jora struggled to maintain her composure.

“I’ll kill you! No!”

“Killing you outright is far too easy. I’ll obliterate you and that vile thing of yours together!”

“Hah…hah…”

Gasping heavily, Jora forced the roiling energy and blood within her to settle. In this state, forget about healing—she couldn’t even think clearly.

What humiliated her more was that, despite her raging defiance and internal rejection, her body still responded…honestly.

“Ah! Ah!”

Jora roared inside the cramped space. She was hiding beneath the glacier, and though she did her best to restrain herself, the power escaping her body seeped out, shattering weaker sections of the ice mountain.

It was as if a fire burned inside her chest—a new kind of Energy she’d never encountered before, one that was both generated from within her and entirely alien at the sa ti.

Strangely enough, this fire was able to rge seamlessly with her own powers, even seeming to assist in healing her injuries.

“Just a while longer—wait until he’s finished.”

“Once I’ve recovered, I’ll tear that man to pieces the mont I get the chance.” Jora silently vowed to herself.

And so, she suppressed the fire within her heart and endured in silence.

No one saw Jora’s expression in that mont—the way it fluctuated unpredictably between extres of brightness and darkness, shifting from faint smiles to frowns knit in anger.

A long ti later, a faint light glimred in the dim cavern. Using the glacier’s reflective surface, Jora caught a glimpse of her own appearance.

Her face was flushed crimson, her eyes glistening as though about to drip moisture.

“Why…why hasn’t he stopped yet?”

“The body of a Giant Dragon is unique—how could this happen?!”

Her voice rasped with anguish. Unable to endure it anymore, Jora buried herself entirely beneath the glacier.

And then began an agonizingly long, long wait.

At last, like receding tides, the overwhelming sensation ebbed away. Jora blinked dazedly as she opened her eyes.

She couldn’t grasp exactly what had happened on the other end, but the tactile feedback coursing through her body made one thing painfully clear—how excruciatingly long the ordeal had been.

“No one could fight a Giant Dragon for such an extended period…” Jora murmured to herself.

Having finally broken free from the tornt, Jora prepared to focus on healing again. But then, an alarming thought suddenly burst into her mind.

“Indeed, no one could endure for that long…”

“But what if…what if he isn’t just a man?”

“Urgh…”

At this realization, Jora could no longer suppress the internal injuries. Her mouth opened wide, and a torrent of blood spewed out.
