Chapter 66: Chapter 066: Speaking Out

A car slowly stopped in front of the ntal hospital.

The last bit of sunlight vanished from the sky, and night was about to fall.

A young man dressed in a FedEx uniform got out of the car and rang the doorbell.

“Hello, FedEx, I have a parcel for Mr. Lunney,” the young man’s face was hidden in the shadows, indistinct in the dim light.

Soon, the hospital’s main gate opened, and a young female nurse hurried out.

“Dr. Lunney is busy, I’ll sign for it on his behalf.”

...

“Please show your ID, I need to record it,” the young man answered formally.

“Okay.”

As the nurse looked down to search for her ID, she couldn’t help but give the courier another glance when she looked up.

“It’s rare to see such a handso delivery man…”

“Please make sure to hand the package to Mr. Lunney personally,” the young man insisted, his voice warm, unconsciously compelling obedience.

After he took the receipt, he turned and got back into the car.

Watching the car drive away, the nurse closed the main gate and hurried back to the hospital. After a while, she ca back to the entrance; this ti, she opened the gate directly, allowing a car to drive into the premises.

“Where is Dr. Lunney? Take to him,” Henrik said.

“Please follow .”

Following the elevator down, it wasn’t long before Roger and his companion arrived at Dr. Lunney’s office.

“What’s happened?” Henrik asked impatiently.

“Not long after you left, Hannam suddenly responded; his body was shaking violently, as if struggling to sit up.”

Dr. Lunney spoke as he walked, soon leading Roger and his companion back to the door of Hannam’s ward.

Inside the room, Hannam’s body was still shaking, a special mask affixed to his mouth.

“Many patients tend to bite off their own tongues in such frenzy…” Lunney explained.

“You haven’t administered any dication, have you?”

Henrik asked.

If Lunney had given Hannam sedatives or similar dication, then they wouldn’t get any clues tonight.

“No.”

Sensing soone had co in, Hannam’s shaking suddenly intensified, his eyes wide open, his pupils filled with endless fear.

“You ntioned on the phone that he started talking,” Henrik said.

“What did he say?”

Roger suddenly asked.

Dr. Lunney shook his head, “Forget it, just so gibberish, maybe it’s not a sign of improvent, but a sign the condition is worsening.”

As he spoke, a faint hint of satisfaction flickered across Lunney’s face.

Although he hated Hannam to the bone, facing a living dead, his rage had nowhere to vent; yet now that Hannam showed a response, he felt an unexpected thrill.

“What did he say?”

Henrik pressed, a hint of authority in his tone.

“I didn’t hear it very clearly, and I don’t know if there’s sothing wrong with his head; he just kept repeating one phrase.”

“It’s not … It’s Hannam!”

Henrik and Roger were startled.

“If that’s not gibberish, what is? Maybe he wanted to say sothing complete, but only these few syllables ca out…”

Dr. Lunney continued to mutter to himself, but Roger and Henrik knew the matter was definitely not that simple.

“You go out, leave this to us!” Henrik ordered.

Dr. Lunney clearly hesitated, but seeing the resolve on Henrik’s face, he could only nod, “All right, I just rembered I received a delivery, so dical records, I’ll go check on that.”

Dr. Lunney found an excuse for himself and left after closing the door.

“It’s not … It seems that the manor tragedy a few months ago really does involve that Gilmore!”

Roger frowned.

“But why did he have to say… it’s Hannam?”

“Could it really be as Lunney just said?”

Roger suddenly thought of a possibility, “Could this guy not be the real Hannam!”

“Is there so special ans in the Transcendent Domain that can completely disguise one person as another?”

Henrik nodded, “Such ans do exist… but the conditions required are very stringent, and it’s normally quite difficult to achieve.”

“Rather than that, it would obviously be more convenient to spend a lot of money on plastic surgery.”

Henrik took a step forward, “Untie his restraints, let’s try and see if we can communicate with him.”

Roger undid the buckles on Hannam and at the sa ti removed the mask from his face.

“Hmm… Hmm…”

Hannam drooled uncontrollably, his gaze towards Roger was full of infinite pleading. He opened his mouth, and stuttering, said, “Not… not !”

“It’s… Hannam!”

As he ntioned this na, boundless fear surged in his eyes.

“If only there was a real Spirit dium here, at least they could help cleanse his soul, bring him peace of mind and make him calr.”

Henrik took out a brown bottle the size of a thumb, opened the stopper, and brought the opening of the bottle close to Hannam’s nostrils.

After taking two deep breaths, Hannam’s emotions seed to stabilize a lot. But he still couldn’t control his body, repeating one sentence over and over.

“What did you have him sll?”

“A Potion for calming the blood and the qi.”

Henrik sighed, “The effect is limited. This guy’s state is very wrong. Soone has conducted a ritual on him; it looks like so kind of Voodoo Skill!”

“I’m not very knowledgeable about this area. If we could find a professional, perhaps we could solve the condition he’s under, and then get the information we need.”

“Let’s go. We’ll leave here first. I’ll make a call and see if I can get so support.” Henrik reached out to tie up Hannam again.

But just then, Roger suddenly spoke up.

“Wait a second.”

“I might have a way.”

“You?” Henrik looked slightly surprised.

Roger stepped forward closer to Hannam, bending down and staring into his eyes.

“Calm down, I’ll ask and you answer. If you confirm, just make a sound.”

“Ah…”

Hannam’s throat let out a short note.

“Good, it seems that you are indeed lucid, just unable to control your body, right?”

Ah…

Hannam continued to respond.

Getting the answer he wanted, Roger took out a tal test tube as thick as a thumb.

“What is that?”

“A bit of family inheritance, but this should be able to temporarily solve the abnormal condition on him.”

“As long as he drinks it, we might be able to get the truth out of this guy.”

“Are there any side effects?”

Henrik asked cautiously.

“It can’t be worse than his current condition…”

Roger thought carefully, as the side effects of drinking a Concentration Potion seed quite similar to Hannam’s current situation.

“Alright, give it to him!”

Henrik made his decision quickly.

Opening the stopper, the icy liquid was poured into the mouth.

Just after a few seconds, Hannam’s body suddenly stopped flailing and then he violently sat up from the bed!

“I didn’t do it!”

“Hannam killed everyone!”

“I’m just an equine instructor; I don’t know anything!”

Roger was taken aback; he and Henrik exchanged glances and involuntarily blurted out:

“Are you Gilmore?”
