Chapter 56: Chapter 56 Character Evaluation

Roger wearily opened his eyes.

Without the Concentration Potion, he had taken the Pain Potion alone and then managed to endure only about ten minutes of boundless pain before his body completely collapsed.

He had no choice but to crawl into bed.

After four hours of rest, even though his body hadn’t fully recovered, he gritted his teeth and began training again.

This ti, he managed to last a bit longer, but in the end, he didn’t make it past 20 minutes. After resting on the bed for a while, Roger dragged his nearly disassembled body and hurriedly left the cabin.

He had to get back before dawn.

...

Thump thump thump!

“Roger, open the door quick!”

Amanda kicked the door a few tis, “Hurry up and get up, you’re going to be late!”

There was no response from the room for a long ti, and Amanda suddenly rembered the disappearance incident not long ago, her expression changing.

“This guy didn’t sneak out again, did he?”

After a mont’s thought, she ran to her mother’s room to get the spare key. Just as she inserted the key, the door opened with a click from the inside.

“Roger, you…”

“Oh my God! What happened?!”

Seeing Roger, pale-faced and with sweat trickling down his forehead, Amanda’s face changed.

“How are you?”

In her haste, Amanda pushed the door open forcefully, but she pushed too hard, causing the unsupported Roger, like a pile of mud, to fall towards the ground.

Amanda dashed up in a swift motion, intending to catch Roger, but her strength as a girl was limited after all, especially since Roger had gained a lot of weight due to his improved physical condition recently.

Unsteady, she was actually pulled down by Roger.

“Hey… hey!”

“Ouch!”

One on top of the other, they both fell to the ground.

Amanda didn’t know why, but her heart was beating rapidly, feeling a wave of anger as she was about to scold him, but then she noticed Roger, lying underneath her, was soaked in sweat, his muscles seemingly twitching unconsciously.

“Oh, Lord!”

Lil Jack’s voice ca from the doorway as Amanda turned back, and Jack stood there, hair a ss, looking at them in shock.

Seeing his sister’s gaze, he quickly covered his eyes, “I didn’t see anything, I saw nothing.”

After saying that, he made a quick exit.

But before Amanda could turn around, Jack peeked out again, “Jenny’s toy store, I heard they got new stuff…”

“SCRAM!”

Amanda was uncontainably furious.

Lil Jack stuck out his tongue and withdrew again.

“Angry won are really scary.”

Ten minutes later, when Roger had reassured her several tis that his muscle soreness was just due to a cold and fever and that there was no need to go to the hospital, Amanda left his room, still half in doubt.

She promised to call in sick for Roger and told Adeline about it. Adeline called and asked in detail.

Roger explained a few things, and the other side hung up hastily.

After Amanda and Jack left, and he had rested on the bed for a while, Roger got up and went to the kitchen to find himself sothing to eat.

After filling his stomach, he went out and bought so burgers; for replenishing calories, those things were indeed very convenient.

Donning his hood and mask, he once again dove into the woods.

Though the process was excruciating, the end result was astonishing.

For the entire day, Roger hid away in his own cabin.

Training, resting, eating, the cycle repeated.

In the following days, he almost entirely imrsed himself in the cabin, frantically practicing. Without the energy-recovering wooden bed, a single training session would have been enough to require rest for over a week.

But now, with the blessing of Hunter’s Cabin, he was making rapid progress.

“Pain is power!”

While taking the Pain Potion, he was now able to train continuously for over 30 minutes. This extre torture not only honed his physique but also forged a tenacious will.

Striving to maintain movents in pain and do his best, this process was even comparable to when Roger took the Concentration Potion.

Pain beca the best catalyst, his control over his muscles, and his mastery of Universal Sword Techniques improved by leaps and bounds.

“Potions are being consud too quickly, I must find new materials as soon as possible.”

With his stock nearly depleted, Roger halted his training. Most importantly, Adeline had called in the morning, saying she’d be back in town by evening.

He clenched his fist, and trendous strength burst from every muscle fiber.

Universal Sword Techniques LV2: Your control over your muscles has improved, precise manipulation leads to a swift enhancent of physical prowess. With high concentration, you can fully engage your muscles and unleash an attack far exceeding normal strength.

Now exhausted, Roger wasn’t able to test this so-called explosive ability, but he saw it as a kind of overload use of the muscles.

At the sa ti Universal Sword Techniques reached level two, a new notification appeared in his mind.

Character Evaluation: As the actual owner of Hunter’s Cabin, your abilities will greatly influence the cabin’s value.

“What does this an?”

“The forr residence of a celebrity?” This notification seed to echo a previous thought of Roger’s.

It seed that only after reaching level 2 with both Universal Sword Techniques and elven dagger technique would he barely qualify to start character evaluation.

Although Roger’s physical quality hadn’t yet reached the human limit, in combination, his strength, explosiveness, endurance, and agility had already left ordinary people far behind.

Add on his exquisite combat skills, and his strength had improved several tis from when he was on the island!

Making haste to recover his energy, Roger tidied up briefly before leaving. Shortly after returning ho, he saw Adeline’s car pull into the garage.

Adeline walked in, looking exhausted.

“I made so food, though I’m not sure if it’s to your taste.”

Vegetable salad, grilled thin crust pizza, and a pan-fried steak.

The most straightforward cooking.

Roger didn’t showcase any fancy Chinese cooking skills, despite being sick of fast food, but he always rembered that his identity was unclear. Until he figured things out completely, he had to keep himself disguised as much as possible.

“You’re so thoughtful.”

“Honestly, I’m about to starve to death.”

The unexpected dinner swept away the fatigue from Adeline, a woman juggling two children and her work, unable to balance the two efficiently.

It was too hard, too exhausting.

Amanda had once ntioned that due to a so-called supernatural event, Adeline’s family had fallen apart, and that incident also beca the spark for her strained relationship with Amanda afterward.

“You’ve been out for several days, did you run into so tough case?”

Adeline tried her best to keep work issues away from ho because she didn’t want to disrupt her children’s normal lives. But now, looking at the young face across from her, she subconsciously overlooked Roger’s age.
