Chapter 385: Chapter 385: Cottage Repairs Chapter 385: Chapter 385: Cottage Repairs Shadow Cottage.
The empty estate was silent, and Roger stood in the cottage, taking out the box that stored the Cursed Coin. With a thought, he submitted the cursed item.
The whole house shuddered slightly. However, even after absorbing the energy within this cursed item, the Hunter’s Cabin did not upgrade to the next level.
As the level increased in the later stages, the required energy beca increasingly imnse.
Quietly absorbing the spiritual power fed back by the Hunter’s Cabin, the additional spiritual power did not enable Roger’s Dharma Seal to upgrade a level either.
As for the cloak obtained from Lusfan, this item and the Cursed Sword apparently belonged to a set and were very practical; Roger did not submit it to the Hunter’s Cabin.
After absorbing the energy inside the Cursed Coin, the repair speed of the cabin accelerated and it would not be long before it was completely restored. At that ti, the Shadow World cabin would begin to affect reality.
In the real world, Roger would also be able to use the various functions of the Shadow Cottage.
The study was placed in a room by the window, and Roger entered. He beckoned, and a Silver Manuscript appeared in his hand.
The next second, Roger’s figure vanished from the spot, and when he reappeared, he was already in a forest.
The timing here was not perfectly synchronized with reality. It seed that rain had just fallen upon the forest; the grass was damp. Sowhere within the woods, the story of Little Red Riding Hood might be unfolding.
As he pondered, a yellowed manuscript suddenly appeared before him, and a goose feather pen leapt into his hand. Before Roger could make a move, the pen began to trace across the paper on its own.
While the overall frawork of the story could not be completely overturned, Roger had the freedom to interpret key details anew.
If he wished, he could write a brand new story of Little Red Riding Hood.
After so thought, Roger still temporarily gave up this right. The number of Fairytale Manuscripts in his possession was too small to form a coherent, standalone world.
“Golden Manuscript.”
Roger made a resolution to himself.
The Silver Manuscript he obtained could absorb so stray ordinary manuscripts, and within a certain range, it could also sense the presence of other manuscripts.
However, this distance was extrely limited, and there were certain requirents for the relatedness of the two stories.
So far, all the stories Roger had acquired took place in forests. Under these circumstances, he was unable to detect a story that took place by the sea or in the sky.
But the Golden Manuscript was different.
Roger knew that the Round Table Knights must possess a Golden Manuscript, which was why they were able to pinpoint the precise location of Sleeping Valley and then dispatch mbers of the Knights to search for it.
If it weren’t for the fact that Roger had the Hunter’s Cabin to conceal the manuscripts he obtained, even if he collected all the manuscripts, they could likely be snatched away by a sudden attack from a Round Table Knight.
Knights were just an ancient title they held onto. Roger would not believe that these Transcendents truly possessed the so-called traditional virtues.
Competition was the core of this world.
After adapting to his strength for a while, upon leaving the Hunter’s Cabin, Roger dialed Amanda’s phone, but several calls went unanswered.
The matter involving the female sorceress nad Cynthia worried Roger, but it was not appropriate to leave a ssage about such concerns. Roger felt it was very necessary to go to Engelman to find an opportunity to see Amanda after he dealt with the important matters at hand.
The next morning, as Roger walked out of his cabin, he saw Goway in the distance, kicking at the turf in front of the door.
“Good morning!”
He smiled and greeted the girl, and though Goway carried the deanor of a proud little lady, she actually held Roger in high esteem. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have risked rushing to Dublin overnight the day before.
“Hehe.”
Goway glared at Roger with an angry face.
“You did it on purpose, didn’t you? Assigning to that room?”
Roger’s mouth fell open, thinking of the absurdity that Henrik had created yesterday. He was taken aback montarily but quickly regained his composure. “You don’t think the person in the room was , do you?”
“I can distinguish voices!”
Goway said irritably, but as soon as the words left her mouth, she regretted them.
Clearly, Goway, who lives next to Henrik, must have suffered from so indescribable noise disturbances.
As he turned back upstairs, Henrik’s door was wide open. Upon entering, Roger saw Henrik slumped at the head of the bed, wrapped in a white bed sheet stained with blotchy bloodstains.
Seeing Roger, a gleam suddenly flashed in Henrik’s otherwise vacant eyes, “Do you know, Roger, before eting Claudia I truly wasted my life!”
He expressed his heartfelt exclamation.
“Do you know that feeling?”
“It’s like not being alone, as if you are fighting with ten people, a hundred people, a thousand people at the sa ti!”
“Unparalleled!”
Henrik’s face was full of fervor.
At the corner of Roger’s mouth twitched, “Bro, you are bleeding…”
He pointed at Henrik’s exposed body.
“Am I?”
Henrik looked down, and on the surface of his body were nurous tiny pores, the wounds not wide in diater, nor very deep in position, but the quantity was extrely frightening!
Roger had witnessed Claudia’s entire transformation process, and his gaze shifted down, wanting to lift the bedsheet to confirm sothing.
“Forget it.”
After thinking it over, Roger decided to abandon that idea.
“Clean yourself up, you’ve always said you wanted to join in missions, haven’t you?”
“Have I?”
Henrik lifted his head expressionlessly.
“The manor needs , I can’t leave.”
“Hehe…”
Roger let out a cold laugh, his face revealing a aningful smile.
“Well, take care of yourself then.”
Having said that, he turned and left.
The Shadow Cottage had been renovated, and the progress of the real-world manor’s refurbishnt was also swift. To save so trouble, Roger had completely replicated the structure of the Shadow Cottage.
He did not demand interior decors, letting the construction company finish the overall building at top speed. When everything was perfected, Roger pushed the door open, and familiar prompts appeared before his eyes.
With a thought, he was already at the Graveyard Cabin.
After changing into a new set of clothes and disguising his face, Roger stepped out of the cabin and crossed the woods to the path outside.
There seed to be so special event in the town, as Roger saw many cars driving by swiftly along the way. He quickly reached the town following the path.
At the outskirts of the square, he saw Greg and Adeline on duty from a distance.
The two were in police uniforms, but their expressions were quite relaxed, seemingly closer than before.
Instead of rashly approaching, Roger took a car and left Baytown for Bordeaux.
Having crossed such a long distance without any restrictions brought great joy to Roger’s heart.
For him, the two Hunter’s Cabins on the sa plane were like two fixed coordinates, and he could return to either one whenever he wished.
Before he could acclimate to the changes in Bordeaux, his phone rang, and Goway’s sowhat hesitant voice ca through.
“Aren’t you in the manor, Roger?”
“There’s sothing… I need your help with.”
