Chapter 266: Chapter 266 Ending Chapter 266: Chapter 266 Ending “Human flesh?!”

Roger’s eyelids twitched as he looked at the young man Henrik was pinning against the wall.

Since their first encounter, the young man had always given him a good impression, but he preferred to believe Henrik.

“Cough cough!”

The young man couldn’t utter a word as his throat was constricted; Henrik slightly relaxed his grip on the boy’s throat.

“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about?”

“It’s just ordinary fish soup. Old Hank specifically instructed not to bring it to you, but I still secretly saved a bowl for you.”

As the young man spoke, he shakily took out a half-dried fish from his pocket.

“Let him down.”

Just then, an aged voice ca from outside the house.

Old Hank pushed the door open and entered.

His gaze was complex as he lingered on Henrik’s face for a mont.

“We haven’t hard anyone.”

He raised both hands.

“It’s been a long ti since we’ve been able to catch any fish in the village, and all around us are monsters.”

“We can only eat so of the corpses that float up from the sea, both humans and monsters.”

Roger’s heart stirred, recalling the washed-over New Moon City; he seed to understand sothing.

“How long has this been going on?”

“A few months,” Old Hank replied.

“If you don’t believe , I can take you to see, but please don’t hurt him.”

“This child is pitiful. A few years ago, his parents took so villagers out to sea to catch fish and never ca back.”

“We searched all the nearby seas and couldn’t even find their bodies.”

By this ti, Henrik had already let go of his hold.

“They must not be dead, maybe they just went to Another World,” said the young man, lifting his head with so defiance.

But upon hearing his words, Old Hank just sighed, “Monsters are all around, and the only path to New Moon City is blocked, we really have no way out.”

“People have to survive, after all.”

The sunlight cast upon Old Hank’s back, adding a layer of shadow to his face. Roger carefully observed and noticed a faint bluish sheen on Old Hank’s skin.

His heart suddenly sank.

He suddenly rembered the piles of bones near the underwater tunnel.

Those twisted skeletons must have been washed out from Another World, perhaps along with those Old Hank and the others had consud and cast into it.

“Does everyone in the village know about this?”

Old Hank shook his head.

“Only a few of us know; we take turns guarding that area of the sea, strictly forbidding any villagers from getting close.”

His eyes flickered briefly, “John’s parents were the last villagers who went to that area of the sea.”

John was the young man against the wall.

Hearing this, Roger thought of many things.

There might be another story within this.

Henrik looked at Roger, unsure of what to say at the mont.

“Let’s go.”

Roger sighed. The ti cycle in that mysterious space might very well have been broken by him, and perhaps no new bodies would be washed out from it ever again.

This village would soon run out of food.

Panic would spread rapidly, and such situations would also breed extre emotions within them, and then the accumulated negative energy would explode completely.

By the ti he returns here, he might be facing the sa situation as another village.

A Murloc village.

Perhaps everyone would be dead.

Before leaving, he glanced at Old Hank, “You won’t find any new bodies, migrate ahead of ti, leave this place and find a new location.”

Upon hearing Roger’s words, a sense of relief ca over Old Hank’s eyes, “In such a world, where else could we go?”

“It’s all the sa.”

The boy standing by the wall still looked confused; the aroma of the spilled fish soup on the floor was tempting him.

Compared to hunger and survival, what to eat clearly wasn’t so important.

As Roger walked out the door, he saw two tall villagers staring at Roger and his companion with a predatory gaze.

At the far end of the village, smoke rose from a chimney, and Roger could hear the villagers’ laughter. He shook his head and turned away.

Walking down the dirt road out of the village, neither of them spoke until they were a good distance away; that’s when Henrik broke the silence.

“Was what we saw before real?”

Roger nodded.

“If that Abraham really is a Xenomorph, then he must not be dead, and so the new President Vichy who took over for him…”

“Is probably in danger!”

“Xenomorph.” A surge of indescribable emotions welled up in Roger’s heart.

“Unlike those so-called Saint Heirs who descend from other worlds, these beings who enter our world with a soul consciousness are far more terrifying.”

“Their existence only brings disaster and they are the pri targets for the Hunters Guild to exterminate.”

“We must return to Bordeaux imdiately; I need to report this!”

“Wait a second,” Roger stopped him.

“If that Abraham really is alive, and killed President Vichy as you suppose, then after so many years, it’s likely that more than half of the Hunters Guild is his people.”

Henrik felt a sinking feeling in his heart.

“If that’s the case, I can only go to the main guild, or…”

His eyes lit up.

“Sean!”

“Right, we can seek out Mr. Sean; perhaps my family might be able to lend so assistance in this matter.”

“Let’s go, we must return imdiately!”

Roger nodded, but he had even more on his mind.

If this Abraham ca from the Otherworld, what about Dickinson, who also ca from Another World?

Could there be so connection between the two?

Both being in the Hunters Guild, Roger would never believe that they didn’t know each other.

After walking a bit further, they encountered a checkpoint set up by the Hunters Guild. There, Roger also saw the young man Robert, who had been previously guarding near the exit.

Robert seed surprised to see Roger but rely went through the motions of asking so routine questions before letting them through.

Back in New Moon City, Roger distinctly sensed an unusual atmosphere in the city, as if sothing big was about to happen.

“It’s very much like the night before a disaster strikes.” Henrik also noticed the anomaly, “But not as intense.”

Due to the Guild’s tacit complicity, the residents looked at Demon Hunters with alienation and caution.

“Such an environnt easily breeds evil thoughts.”

“And that dark mist…”

After submitting their mission at the station, the two went straight to the entrance and crossed through the barrier back to Bordeaux.

Henrik sought to contact his family with great caution; he couldn’t tell anyone about it until he saw Sean.

anwhile, Roger went directly back to his house where he would have to consolidate his spiritual power and strive to complete training the second Dharma Seal.

In addition, the spoils of battle, together with his own advancent in strength, should allow him to upgrade the Hunter’s Cabin another level!
