Chapter 183: Chapter 183 Marisa Chapter 183: Chapter 183 Marisa “I did have a bit of a relationship with that woman, but it was nothing like Gale said. Gale is a well-known drunk in town, and due to his drinking, he frequently made mistakes at work.”

“Besides that, every ti he got drunk, he would commit dostic violence against Marisa.”

“For this reason, Marisa miscarried twice and couldn’t keep the baby.”

Wolff scrambled to his feet and casually pulled over a chair.

“Of course, this has nothing to do with . But one chance encounter brought into contact with Marisa; it was she who seduced .”

Wolff shifted his hefty backside.

“Marisa was a beautiful woman, and I had been drinking a bit at that ti, and then, well, you know…”

“It was just an impulse at first, but then there was a second ti, a third, and gradually our encounters beca more frequent.”

“To avoid being discovered, I built a house on the mountain, and we would et there when needed.”

“Gradually, Marisa began to have other ideas.”

“She wanted to divorce Gale.”

“Heh.”

Lawrence let out a cold laugh, “She wanted to ditch Gale and be with you, so you killed her?”

“I’ve said it wasn’t who killed her!”

Wolff argued.

“One day, Marisa asked to et her at the house. I had been busy with business affairs for a long ti and hadn’t been in touch with her.”

“Her text ssages were fiery and bold, so I made so quick arrangents and rushed over to the villa.”

“After our intimate mont, Marisa told she had t a man, soone handso and gentle, soone who made her feel a warmth of love she had never felt with anyone else.”

“So she wanted to leave this place and run away with that man!”

A flash of anger crossed Wolff’s face.

“That damn woman, she actually wanted to blackmail before she left. She threatened to tell Gale about our affair if I didn’t give her a sum of money.”

“After that, she even pulled out a stack of photos!”

Wolff gritted his teeth, “Gale is a piece of scum. Once he found out about this, he would hound ceaselessly, and I would end up losing much more money.”

“Marisa and I had an argunt. In my emotional state, I indeed hit her, but it was nothing serious enough to kill her, and I cald down after the impulse.”

Wolff sighed.

“I told Marisa I could give her so money, but from then on, she needed to stay far away from , and if there was ever a second ti, I wouldn’t compromise!”

“I left Marisa waiting there and went down the mountain to get the money.”

Wolff rubbed his hands, “At that ti, I had just taken a big order, and a lot of capital had gone into purchasing materials; it wasn’t easy to co up with a large sum of money in a short period.”

“It took all afternoon, and by the ti I returned to the villa in the evening, I found that Marisa was already dead.”

Wolff covered his face.

“Please believe , I have nothing to do with this at all. Although I did hit her at the ti, they were only minor injuries, ones that definitely wouldn’t lead to her death.”

Wolff was getting agitated.

“What’s even more bizarre is that the woman died with a satisfied look on her face, as if… as if she had fulfilled all her wishes.”

“I had planned to call the police, but with Marisa dead in my villa, and with injuries on her body, there was no way I could explain it all.”

“I even suspected whether I had unintentionally caused her a fatal injury, and that’s why she died after I left.”

“After a lot of hesitation, I wrapped up her body and buried it on the mountain behind.”

“Where is her body?”

Tangde asked with suspicion.

“It’s on the mountain behind the villa.”

Tangde glanced at Carl, who nodded slightly, “His emotions are erratic, but what he’s said should all be true.”

“Have you concealed anything else from us?”

Tangde pressed.

“No, there’s nothing more, really,”

Wolff shook his head frantically. Standing at the back of the crowd, Roger seed to think of sothing, but before he could speak up, a loud bang suddenly ca from a distant room.

Boom!

The wooden door deford under intense pressure, and amid the cracking sounds of splintered wood, a figure was catapulted from the room like a cannonball.

“Smack!”

The shadow spat blood and crashed against the opposite wall like trash, with half its head deford from the impact upon rebounding.

Gushing blood profusely, its neck contorted into an exaggerated angle, it was clear there was no surviving this.

“Gale!”

“What’s happening?!”

The crowd rushed out swiftly.

“Beech, what happened?”

Violent fighting noises emanated from the room, Beech seed to be battling with soone.

“That monster!”

“The monster Gale ntioned!”

Beech gasped for breath, and the next second, distracted by speaking, he was struck and sent flying out the window.

Squawk!

Accompanied by a crisp cry, a creature over two ters tall surged out the window, coming into full view of everyone.

It was a humanoid creature with a triangular head and inflated eyes, nearly the size of an adult’s fist.

The head and shoulders rged into one, and its mouth, which split almost as wide as its head, gaped slightly; there were no sharp teeth to be seen, and its entire body was shrouded in green smoke.

The upper body of the monster was incredibly muscular, almost comparable to a brown bear of the sa height, but its legs were thin and long, with exceptionally elongated tendons in the calves.

The feet were split like flippers, and its lower half was bare, making it easy to discern the creature’s gender.

“What in the world is that thing?!”

Wolff couldn’t help but exclaim in horror, and before his words had finished, the creature suddenly opened its mouth wide. A blur appeared in the night, and then, an ear-piercing whoosh was already before Wolff’s eyes.

“Help!”

Wolff scread.

Almost in the instant he scread, Roger had already charged forward, his Steel Sword flicked with a light touch, and a colossal force ca forth.

Roger’s expression remained unchanged as he exerted a great force with his right hand.

Crash!

Only then did everyone realize that what had attacked Wolff was actually the creature’s tongue.

“A toad?!”

Carl said, but then a barrage of gunfire erupted as Lawrence and Michelle pulled their triggers simultaneously.

Lawrence in particular, because of a previous incident, was eager to doubly prove himself in front of Roger.

“Bang!”

The green smoke dispersed rapidly from the center where the creature was.

“Watch out for poison!”

Tangde shouted loudly.

As he spoke, he touched his forehead, and his entire aura changed.

“Awakening Spirit!”

A ferocious and wild montum radiated from him.

Roger felt the tongue coiled around the Steel Sword retracting, but he did not take the opportunity to counterattack.

The smoke spread rapidly, and it was risky to rush in at this mont, likely to be inadvertently shot by Lawrence and Michelle.

Instead of advancing, he withdrew swiftly, fleeing the area engulfed by the fus and leaped onto a nearby low-rise building, only to see a figure dashing out from the smoke, quickly running into the distance under the cover of night.

“It’s there!”

“Follow !”

Without waiting for the others, Roger promptly took up his sword and chased after it.
